Serving as the guardian deity for the eight major districts of Soni Village, this ancient shrine is said to have been founded during the reign of the 21st Emperor, Yuryaku. It's even recorded in the Heian period's "Engishiki" register as one of the 17 shrines in Uda District, Yamato Province ✍️. The enshrined deities include the four Kasuga gods (Amenokoyane-no-Mikoto, Takemikazuchi-no-Mikoto, Futsunushi-no-Mikoto, and Hime-no-Okami), as well as Tamanooya-no-Mikoto, Amenotajikarao-no-Mikoto, and Amenouzume-no-Mikoto. On my recent day off, I finally checked out two places I've been wanting to visit: Soni Highland and World Ranch! First up was Soni Highland in Nara Prefecture. The contrast between the endless green carpet, the boundless blue sky, and the white clouds was absolutely stunning ✨ Walking up the wooden pathways felt just like a hike. It’s such a breathtaking view, no wonder it was selected as one of "The Most Beautiful Villages in Japan" ⛰️ After that, we headed over to Osaka and visited World Ranch. Getting up close and petting the adorable sheep and goats was so therapeutic 🐑💕 The ranch's soft serve ice cream was super rich and incredibly delicious, too 🍦 It was the perfect day off—finding peace in nature and getting re-energized by the animals! I highly recommend you guys check it out too 😊

🏖️Overview: Yoro-dake is a rocky mountain with an elevation of 894m that looks like a suit of armor. On the other hand, Kabuto-dake is a mountain with an elevation of 920m that looks like a mulberry-shaped helmet. This bowl-shaped plateau at the foot of Mt. Kameyama is one of the most famous spots in the Kansai region for Japanese silver grass. Many tourists visit in autumn when the ears of Japanese silver grass turn silvery. To easily enjoy the Soni Plateau, hike up the stepped trail to Kameyama Pass, then follow the ridge to the summit of Mt. Kameyama at an altitude of 849m and descend to the plateau. It takes about an hour to go around, but it is recommended that you wear comfortable shoes at least sneakers. The view from Kameyama Pass is wonderful. The gently sloping Soni Plateau spreads out below you with Okame Pond at the center, and behind it are mountains such as Byobuiwa, Sumizukayama, Kunimiyama, Kabutodake, and Yoroitake, which are lined up like a folding screen. If you have the time and energy, we recommend a round trip from Kameyama Pass via Nibonboso to Mt. Kuraizumi (altitude 1,037m). It takes just under two hours round trip, but you will be walking along a rocky ridge with many ups and downs, which will wear you out more than the distance. There is a local bus to get there, but you will have to walk quite a bit from the bus stop. It was a very vast place and I was able to feel nature on my skin. The parking lot was relatively large, so even beginners could park with peace of mind. I gave up on the climb halfway through, but when I saw the view from the top in videos, it was so magnificent that I regretted not climbing. Next time I visit, I will try wearing sneakers or other comfortable clothes. There are no toilets in sight, so I recommend the roadside station on the way to the plateau, which is clean and sells a variety of items.
