For getting to the castle after getting off the bus, we chose the shuttle bus without hesitation 🚌 (3.5€ one way, cash required!) After getting off the shuttle bus and walking for about 5 minutes... There it was, the castle we'd been seeing in pictures! This is Part 1, sharing the first few days of the trip. I highly recommend visiting in winter—it's cold but less crowded and incredibly beautiful! Day 1: December 13 - Straight to Neuschwanstein Castle, A Fairytale Castle Experience We landed at Munich Airport around 7 AM, picked up our luggage, and took the Lufthansa bus directly to Munich Central Station (tickets purchased online in advance, about a 40-minute ride). Our hotel, Sure Hotel by Best Western München Hauptbahnhof, was conveniently close to the station. After dropping off our luggage, we grabbed a quick breakfast. From the observation decks, we enjoyed panoramic views of Salzburg and its surroundings.
