Puerto Rico travel guide and discussion

This site beautifully preserves Spanish colonial-era fortresses and vibrant, multi-colored buildings. Visiting here feels like stepping back in time, where European elegance meets Latin passion, offering a truly exotic atmosphere. Recommended Route: Start your journey at the city wall entrance and take a leisurely stroll along the ancient fortifications. You’ll first encounter the famous El Morro fortress. Navigating is easy with local signage and maps. The fort opens daily at 9:00 AM, so arriving early is best to beat the crowds. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean along the path before heading to Castillo San Cristobal on the opposite side. Both fortresses are photography hotspots, especially during sunset when the light reflecting off the water is simply stunning. Top Attractions & Photo Ops: 1. El Morro (Fort San Felipe del Morro): This iconic fortress offers unparalleled ocean views from the top of its ramparts. Its rugged stone walls make for a perfect, Instagrammable backdrop. 2. Castillo de San Cristobal: As the larger of the two, it offers a deep dive into the lives of the soldiers who once stationed here, giving visitors a real sense of traveling back in history. 3. The Vibrant Old Streets: Wander through the narrow alleys of the old town lined with pastel-colored buildings in shades of pink, blue, and yellow. The Spanish-style wooden shutters and wrought-iron balconies are unique features that capture the local charm. Practical Travel Tips: · Visit on weekdays for fewer crowds; 9:00 AM is typically the quietest time, making it easier to snap photos without people in them. · The old town features many cobblestone streets, so wear comfortable sneakers to avoid slipping. · The sun can be intense, so be sure to bring an umbrella, a sun hat, and plenty of sunscreen. · The site is open year-round from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Since it gets quite hot in the summer, try to find shade during the midday heat. Important Considerations: · Some sections of the fortresses have steep steps that may not be accessible for strollers or wheelchairs. It’s best to inquire about accessible routes in advance. · Several areas host historical exhibitions, so consider setting aside extra time to explore them at your own pace. Summary: The San Juan National Historic Site is more than just a Puerto Rican landmark; it’s the premier destination for understanding the rich history of this U.S. Caribbean territory. If you are captivated by historical fortresses, colorful European-style architecture, and a relaxing seaside vibe, this place will not disappoint.

Many people come to Marbella for the sunshine and coastline; but what truly makes them stay is the comfortable and refined way of vacationing here. 🌅 In the morning, stay at a seaside resort hotel with the Mediterranean right outside your window. After breakfast, take a stroll or jog along the seaside promenade all the way to Puerto Banús. This area is filled with yachts and sailboats and is the hub for boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. Just pick any terrace to sit and leisurely spend the entire morning. 🏖️ At noon, head to a beach club to sunbathe and swim, and order some fresh seafood or Spanish tapas; ⛳ In the afternoon, you can play golf, enjoy a spa treatment, or simply relax by the pool with a book. Marbella boasts several high-quality golf courses and therapeutic spas, making it a favorite "slow vacation" style for Europeans. 💆‍♀️ 🌇 At dusk, consider going out to sea or watching the sunset at a seaside restaurant. As the sun sets into the sea, the whole city is bathed in golden light, and the pace naturally slows down. Here, luxury is not about noisy consumption but about abundant sunshine, ample time, private space, and the peace of mind to enjoy the day well. 🌊💛 This is the charm of Marbella: It offers both the relaxation of a vacation and the refinement of life. ✨

➡️Yunque National Forest (P8-p15) As the only tropical rainforest in the United States, we chose not to join the usual group water activities. Instead, we wanted to hike on our own, so we drove up to a higher spot first, then hiked for 40 minutes to Mt. Britton Tower (P9-10). From the tower, you can overlook the entire rainforest. It’s hard to capture in photos, but the view is stunning in person. There is actually a higher peak, El Yunque Peak (P8-9), but the one-way hike takes 1.8 hours. We thought it was too long and didn’t take that trail. If you have enough time and energy, you can challenge yourself to reach it. We hiked the rainforest on December 3rd. It was very comfortable inside the forest, with very few mosquitoes, so no need to bring insect repellent. After reaching the top, we drove down the mountain and visited various spots, many with small waterfalls where you can play in the water. I wore a bikini under my clothes, so I just took off my outerwear when playing in the water. You can bring a towel to dry off after playing in the water. You don’t need special shoes for this route; your regular sneakers are fine. It’s not like the other trail to the waterfall jump spot that can ruin your shoes. ➡️Castillo San Felipe del Morro (501 Calle Norzagaray, San Juan, 00901, Puerto Rico) Old San Juan Castle (P1-7) – The ticket for this castle is valid for two days. The castle is really beautiful, especially the seaside view from the top. Inside, there are many exhibits about the history of the old town. The old town is also nice, with colorful houses. You can stroll street by street, and there are many small shops selling souvenirs. However, the streets in the old town are very narrow and parking is difficult. There are many parking lots though; just search for “park” on Google Maps. The fees are reasonable. We parked in the underground lot next to the castle, which cost $13.5 for 6 hours, charged by the hour. This castle is definitely worth a visit!

Exploring Old San Juan was absolutely gorgeous—colorful colonial streets, historic forts, and lively plazas filled with music and charm. Every corner felt like stepping into a postcard. On another day, we headed out to Piñones, where the beach is wild, breezy, and beautifully local. The ocean views were stunning, and the street-side kiosks served some of the most delicious Puerto Rican food. We even had the best mango smoothie ever at one of the local kiosks along the road—fresh, sweet, and perfect for the tropical heat. Two amazing days filled with culture, flavor, and island vibes. A perfect blend of culture, history, and island flavor across two amazing days.

The only US rainforest called el Yunque is also in Puerto Rico. there people and music I'd delighted to your soul..if you are looking for a paradise here on earth 🌎..I recommend Puerto Rico the island of excitement..you can do anything in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

A small exhibition on the second floor of the Yuz Museum. It's free and worth a look if you're passing by. The exhibition is the size of one main gallery. It's very colorful. At first glance, the theme seems to be housewives shopping. My baby really liked the colors and a "big cat 🐱" "Bodega" comes from Spanish. In this exhibition, it refers to the small corner grocery stores found throughout New York, similar to a "corner shop." As Puerto Ricans and Dominicans moved to New York, these grocery stores began to emerge and became social hubs where people of color from various backgrounds would meet. Bodegas are usually found in areas with few large supermarkets and are often the only places to buy food in some communities. Most of the food here is processed or canned, clearly highlighting a stark wealth gap: the wealthy enjoy healthy meals, while the poor can only use food stamps to exchange for unhealthy food. Tschabalala Self: Bodega ⌚️ Exhibition dates: Sep 22, 2018 – Dec 9, 2018 🎫 Admission: Free 🆓 📍 Address: No. 35 Fenggu Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai 🈺️ Opening hours: Closed on Mon, Tue–Sun 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM (last admission at 8:00 PM) 🚌 Public transport: Metro Line 11, Yunjin Road Station 🚇 🅿️ Driving: The museum does not have a parking area

as a mid-budget traveller who loves adventure and a lil luxury, i definitely could’ve cut down on spending… but we’re here for a good time, not a long time!!! 🤪 6 countries and 11 cities/territories later, i’m officially at country #19 on my 31 countries before 31 journey — and here’s how my 2025 travels ranked: 1. Puerto Rico (yes, i know it’s technically not a country, but if it has its own flag and culture it’s a country to me 🧍🏾) 2. Greece 3. Hungary 4. Czech Republic 5. Slovakia 6. Dominican Republic the goal for next year? to hope to do another 6 countries while still working my 9–5, and maybe lean more into budget-friendly stays like hostels to cut down on spending. but i love enjoyment… so who really knows 😭😂 #canadiantraveller #travelwrapped #yearintravel #travelrecap

🇵🇷 Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory island in the Caribbean Sea 🏝️✨ It's a place where you can enjoy not only beautiful beaches, but also nature, history, and delicious food! 🌳 At El Yunque National Forest, you can hike through lush rainforest and enjoy waterfalls and beautiful scenery 🌿💦 🏰 Historic fortresses built during the Spanish colonial era, such as San Felipe del Morro Fortress, are also a must-see ⚔️🌊 🍖 The food culture is also fascinating, with local dishes using meat and bananas, such as Mofongo and roast pork 😋🍌 🌴 It's an island full of Caribbean charm, where you can enjoy nature, history, and food all in one place 🇵🇷☀️

The attention from Marco, Andy, the chef, and the hotel staff was top-notch. Their service, courtesy, and overall care truly stood out. I absolutely recommend it 💯. We are from Puerto Rico, and the days we spent at the hotel were excellent. I must give credit to the chef—his chicken chaufa rice and grilled chicken breast, along with the muña tea, made our stay warm and delightful.

Carlos, Raldy, and Nelly are outstanding at the pool bar area. They are incredibly attentive, and as first-time visitors to the hotel, they made us want to come back. Truly, they are excellent. The hotel needs more employees who love their work and excel at customer service. We came from Puerto Rico and deeply appreciate how they made us feel right at home.

🌌 Mosquito Bay, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 Mosquito Bay on Vieques Island is one of the most spectacular bioluminescent bays in the world. At night, the water can glow a magical blue-green color when disturbed, thanks to microscopic organisms called dinoflagellates. ✨ Why visit? · 💙 Famous for its exceptionally bright bioluminescence · 🌙 Dark, moonless nights offer the best experience · 🛶 Guided kayak tours are the most popular way to explore · 🌿 Surrounded by mangroves and peaceful tropical scenery · 📍 Located on Vieques, about 8 miles east of Puerto Rico’s main island Best experience: Go on a night with little moonlight and calm weather. Avoid bright lights so your eyes can adjust to the darkness. Mosquito Bay has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the brightest bioluminescent bay in the world.

🌿 Laguna Grande, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 Laguna Grande is one of Puerto Rico’s most magical natural attractions, famous for its bioluminescent lagoon. At night, the water glows with tiny microorganisms called dinoflagellates, creating a stunning blue-green sparkle whenever the water is disturbed. ✨ What makes it special? · 🌌 Best experienced on a moonless or low-moon night · 🛶 Usually explored by guided kayak tours · 💙 The glowing water looks like tiny stars beneath your paddle · 🌴 Surrounded by mangroves and tropical scenery · 📍 Located near Fajardo, on Puerto Rico’s northeast coast Best time: Generally, darker nights provide the best visibility. Weather and moon phase can make a big difference. It’s one of those places where the experience feels almost unreal—like paddling through a galaxy on the water.

Mini vacation in Puerto Rico, 7/9 to 7/13

Puerto Rico surprised me before I even left the airport — the humid air, Spanish and English mixing on every sign, salsa drifting from a car window. This is a Caribbean island with the ease of the U.S. and the soul of old Spain, and that mix makes it one of the simplest tropical destinations to fall into. 🏰 Old San Juan Cobblestone streets, painted blue with stone once shipped over as ballast from Spanish galleons, wind between pastel buildings and iron balconies. I spent a morning at Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a 16th-century fortress on cliffs above the Atlantic — ocean on one side, the old city’s rooftops on the other. 🌴 El Yunque Rainforest About an hour from San Juan, El Yunque climbs into cloud-covered peaks thick with ferns and waterfalls, alive with the call of the coquí, Puerto Rico’s tiny native tree frog. I cooled off at La Mina Falls after a humid hike, surrounded by greenery so dense it blocks out the sky. ✨ Bioluminescent Bay Nothing prepared me for Mosquito Bay on Vieques Island. Paddling a kayak through the dark water at night, every stroke lit the surface electric blue — microorganisms that make this one of the brightest bioluminescent bays left on Earth. 🍹 The Flavors Puerto Rican food blends Spanish, African, and Taíno influences. Mofongo — mashed fried plantains piled with shrimp or pork — became a repeat order, along with alcapurrias from beachside kiosks in Piñones and coffee grown in the island’s central mountains. 🛏️ Where to Stay Old San Juan for history and walkability; Condado or Isla Verde for a resort-style beach stay near the airport. ✈️ Getting There Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan connects directly to major U.S. cities and several international hubs. As a U.S. territory, entry is simpler for travelers holding a valid U.S. visa or ESTA. 📍 Ready to plan your trip to Puerto Rico? Explore hotels, flights, and local experiences on Trip.com.

Fifteen years ago, I added hiking to Machu Picchu to my bucket list. Born in Peru but raised in Puerto Rico, this trip was also a way to reconnect with my roots. The trek was challenging, yet it exceeded all my expectations. Choosing Salkantay Trekking was the best decision. Everything was amazing—breathtaking views, great group dynamics, comfortable accommodations, and little details like enjoying a hot shower after a tough day 😅. The team surprised me with a birthday cake, which was incredibly thoughtful and made the trip even more special. It added a heartfelt moment to an already extraordinary experience. Our guide, Carlos, known as “The Mountain King,” was phenomenal. His passion for Peru and the Quechua people, combined with his vast knowledge and engaging personality, truly elevated the journey. He kept us inspired and motivated throughout. I was especially moved by the way Carlos handled a difficult situation. The daughter of an older hiker had underestimated the trek's challenges and booked it for her mother, which created a tough moment for everyone. Despite this, Carlos and the other guides demonstrated incredible patience, care, and respect. They went above and beyond to help the hiker through difficult terrain, ensuring not only her safety but also the well-being of the entire group. I’m deeply grateful to Carlos, Salkantay Trekking, and Pachamama for this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. It far exceeded all my hopes and dreams. Tupananchiskama 🏔️✨🌱

From the moment we arrived, the host and reception staff were incredibly kind. The check-in process was very simple, and since we arrived early, they provided helpful suggestions (even marking them on a map they gave us), stored our luggage, and promptly notified us when our room was ready. The room itself was beautiful and extremely clean, equipped with everything we needed. The hotel offers a delicious and complete breakfast buffet. The rooftop has an exceptional view and a small yet cozy pool. Our favorite part? The bar staff—THE BEST! Gastón, Daniel, Jesús, Luis, María, and the other team members were beyond friendly and attentive throughout our 8-night stay, making it truly unforgettable. We left a piece of our hearts in Madrid and brought back the best memories to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷.

#easytravelpost Maricao State Forest (Bosque Estatal de Maricao) sits on the Ruta Panorámica at 600–1,000 m in PR's central-west, a misty transition between karst and cloud forest. The Sendero Indígena (Taino Trail) is 0.8 km interpretive loop, 30 min, with petroglyph replicas and a ridge spur; the longer Los Viveros / Las Piedras loop adds 2 km. The mossy half is the ridge spur: Sphagnum on the tabonuco buttress, Thuidium on the trail edge, Hymenophyllum on the tree fern, and a Taino batey clearing where the cloud sits at 8 a.m. I drove from San Germán (rental 45 USD/day, card), paid nothing at the gate (free forest), walked at 7:30 a.m. in January. Lowland 29°C, ridge 19°C, moss dripping. Wore trail-runners; the loop is crushed limestone, the ridge spur mud. Mistake: I arrived at 2 p.m. in July — ridge fog burned to grey, no bird call, the Taino clearing looked like a lawn, moss flat. 7–9 a.m. Second mistake: I didn't bring 1 USD cash for the honor-box trail map (card useless, the ranger station was closed). Third: I touched a petroglyph replica "for texture" — sign: "replica resin, oil damages it, 100 USD fine". Buy in Maricao town: a 4 USD coffee-and-guanime, not the 20 USD tourist stop. Gear: 1 L water, 40 USD shell — Maricao mists 10 hrs/day. Local rule: free entry, no drone in state forest, no touching petroglyphs (even replicas), stay on the 0.8 km loop + signed spur. The moss on the tabonuco flare is the cloud's catch — step on cut limestone. Opinion: Maricao is the free 30-min Taino+moss loop 2 hr from San Juan and the ridge spur is the 15-min half with zero El Yunque crowds. Should PR DRNA add a 3 USD honour box and a 8 a.m. ranger Taino talk Dec–Mar, or keep it free-and-unstaffed? I'd talk it. Would you detour 30 min off the Ruta Panorámica for a mossy Taino ridge?

#easytravelpost Pico Turquino (1974 m, Cuba's highest) is a 2-day hike from Alto del Naranjo (770 m) in Granma — 4×4 taxi from Las Cuevas (60 USD share, cash USD or CUP 2000+), then 14 km RT through Sierra Maestra cloud forest and old coffee cafetales. Mandatory guide from the Guardabosques post at Alto del Naranjo — 1500 CUP (~60 USD equivalent) for the 2-day permit+guide, cash only, no card in the mountains. St Lucia Enbas Saut: Edmund/Central Forest Reserve, ~4.2 km RT, 2–2.5 hr, Forestry entry ~US$10, guide US$25–100, 4×4 access road, no swimming after rain. St Vincent Vermont Nature Trail: ~3.5 km loop, 2–3 hr, Buccament/Vermont, parrot reserve, easy-moderate, dry season Dec–May, guide optional but birding guide helps. Grenada Grand Etang: crater lake 530 m, Shoreline Loop 1.5 mi / 45 min, entry ~US$2 (XCD5), bus #6 from St George's XCD10, Mona monkeys, no feeding, Mt Qua Qua 2 hr optional. Tobago Gilpin Trace: 1.8 km loop, Main Ridge FR (1776), no gate fee, certified guide TT$160 (1.5 hr) / TT$240 (2 hr), km 13.5 Roxborough–Bloody Bay Rd, start ≤7 a.m. Trinidad El Tucuche: 936 m, Northern Range, 5–7 hr RT via La Fillette/Simeon Road, guide mandatory (illegal + dangerous solo), TT$ permit via Forestry, cloud forest moss, start 5:30 a.m. Jamaica Blue Mts: Irish Town–Pipers Gap / Catherine's Peak, ~5 km RT, 3–4 hr, start 6 a.m., coffee farm (Blue Mountain Coffee) walk, no picking cherries without permission, mist 18°C. Cuba Pico Turquino: Sierra Maestra, Alto del Naranjo→Comandancia→summit 1,974 m, 2-day guided (mandatory), CUC-era now USD-equivalent cash, 6–8 hr day 1 to Comandancia, coffee ruins (La Plata). Hispaniola Macaya (Haiti): Massif de la Selle, Pic Macaya 2,347 m, near Les Cayes/Jérémie, 2-day guide mandatory, very little infrastructure, mossy cloud forest, no solo. Puerto Rico Maricao SF: Taino Trail (Sendero Indígena) ~0.8 km interpretive + ridge spur, 1–2 hr, free/short, Ruta Panorámica, 600–1,000 m, no drone, stay on trail.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Ocean Blue & Sand Beach Resort in Punta Cana! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and cared for. The resort is stunning, the atmosphere relaxing, and the beach simply breathtaking. The rooms were clean and cozy, the food had excellent variety, and there were numerous activities and entertainment options throughout the stay. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and always helpful with a smile. A special mention to Mr. Maximo Ogano from the privilege club, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was even more extraordinary—excellent service and unmatched hospitality! The beautiful tropical setting offered the perfect place to unwind, enjoy the beach, indulge in good food, and create wonderful memories. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would absolutely recommend Ocean Blue & Sand to anyone seeking a fun, relaxing, and picturesque all-inclusive retreat in Punta Cana. I can’t wait to return! Thank you, Ocean Blue & Sand, for an unforgettable vacation!

#easytravelpost Maricao State Forest (1919, Cordillera Central, 285 tree species, 91 orchids) runs the Taíno Trail and Cerrillos ridge above the Maricao coffee country, PR-120/105 access. No day-entry fee, camping permit via DRNA (free/cheap, online or San Juan office), Mayagüez→Maricao 45 min drive, no public transit to the trailhead. Year-round but Feb–Mar driest; Jun–Nov afternoon showers. I rented a car in San Juan, drove PR-120 to the Maricao visitor centre 14:00, walked the Taíno loop next dawn. The moss is the cordillera ridge forest: Thuidium on the Tabebuia and coffee ruins 1 cm, Metzgeria on the petroglyph-adjacent boulders 1 cm, 16°C in January, a Puerto Rican spindalis, the Maricao River grey below. I reached the Mirador de los Pájaros tower, moss on the rail black-green with drip, ate a 6 USD Mayagüez mall breakfast, watched a hummingbird (Puerto Rican emeral) work the lobelia. Mistake: I walked the Taíno loop at 15:00 in July — sudden shower, no rain layer, slipped on the wooden bridge; dawn start + packable rain shell always. Another: the DRNA permit is paperwork-heavy if you camp — apply 3 days ahead, the booth won't issue same-day in peak. Would you drive PR-120 for the free Maricao Taíno Trail mossy ridge walk, or skip Maricao and do the Toro Negro (closer, more signed) instead?

#easytravelpost El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. Forest System, 45 min from San Juan on PR-191 north (Río Grande side). As of 2026 entry is free, first-come first-served, 08:00–17:00, El Portal Visitor Center $8 if you go inside; no reservation, but the PR-191 corridor gates close when lots fill — I rolled in at 07:50 from a San Juan rental ($55/day) and got the lower lot; by 10:00 the same lot was chained. The mossy drive is PR-191 between La Coca Falls and Yokahú Tower (km 3.2): tabonuco and sierra palm, moss on the retaining walls and the stone tower base 2 cm thick, 19°C at 08:30, coquí frogs loud even at mid-morning. Yokahú itself is a CCC stone spiral — 85 steps to the balcony, canopy north to the Atlantic. I climbed it at 08:50, the moss on the parapet still wet, a Puerto Rican tody flicking off a fern, and ate a 3 USD mallorca I'd grabbed at a Luquillo kiosk on the way in. Then the Big Tree loop (0.9 mi paved, free) below the tower — moss on the tabonuco buttresses is the real photo, not the lookout. Mistake: I tried the south Naguabo entrance once thinking it connects — PR-191 was severed by a 1970s landslide, the two sides never join; pick north for Yokahú. Another: rideshare back from deep PR-191 fails on signal; rent a car or pre-book a 75 USD guided day trip. Would you drive 07:50 from San Juan for the free Yokahú mossy tower climb + Big Tree loop, or pay 85 USD for a guided tour that adds La Mina Falls swimming?

Our experience at Only YOU Hotel Atocha was exceptional from start to finish. Right from our arrival after a long journey from Puerto Rico, we felt genuinely welcomed and at home. Caterina handled our check-in warmly, offering us a complimentary glass of champagne and outstanding hospitality. Every staff member was incredibly kind, attentive, and ensured our comfort throughout the stay. A special thank you goes to Danka from the Concierge team for organizing a lovely surprise during our second visit, which made us feel truly appreciated. We initially stayed three nights before traveling to Barcelona, and when we returned to Madrid, booking the same hotel for an additional two nights was an easy choice—a testament to how much we enjoyed our time there. The rooms were comfortable, elegant, and cozy. Although there was some construction noise during our first stay, it was a minor issue compared to the overall quality and exceptional service the hotel provided. The dining experience was equally outstanding. Both the breakfast buffet and café were excellent, and Yulianni, along with Achrat, ensured our mornings were special with their professionalism and kindness. Lucca at the Front Desk also left a great impression with his attentiveness and friendly assistance throughout our stay. Our final check-out was handled by Jesús, who exemplified professionalism and surprised us with the news that we had been automatically enrolled in the Palladium Rewards program, with credits for future stays—another example of the hotel's thoughtful care for its guests. Only YOU Hotel Atocha combines modern facilities, a prime location, fantastic dining, and an incredible team who make all the difference. We had an unforgettable experience and will undoubtedly choose this hotel for every visit to Madrid. We highly recommend it—it truly deserves a five-star rating!

The Salkantay 5-day trek was an incredible adventure for me and my family. It was challenging yet rewarding, especially with the chance to make new friends who brought an energetic vibe and an atmosphere of enthusiasm that motivated everyone to complete the journey. All of this was possible thanks to the leadership of Carlos, the mountain king. He communicated expectations clearly and kept us well-informed throughout the trek. There was an elderly individual in our group who presented a challenge to the team. In my opinion, she shouldn't have undertaken the trek. It was made clear during the briefing that the trek would be tough, and evacuations downhill would be costly and complicated due to concerns for the horses' safety. Her physical limitations led to her requiring evacuation as she could not complete the journey. From what I observed, Carlos did his absolute best in the situation, utilizing all available resources to get her down safely. Initially, they tried getting her down on a horse, but she couldn’t stay balanced even with Carlos helping from behind. Ultimately, Carlos and the Salkantay Trekking team carried her down the mountain in the dark on a stretcher. This trek was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me and my daughter, thanks to our new family from Peru, Puerto Rico, New Jersey, and Ireland. I believe I made a lifelong friend in Carlos. And if I don’t meet him again in this life, I hope to see him in the next! Long live the mountain king Carlos!

Golden hour in viejo san juan🌞 #sanjuan #puertorico

My first experience traveling with this agency was simply excellent. From the start, they were attentive to every detail and always ensured everything went smoothly. I just returned to Puerto Rico and was thrilled with the service. Thanks to RUTH, the guides, and the drivers for making this trip an unforgettable experience. I will certainly travel with them again and highly recommend them!
