Polis travel guide and discussion

In Paphos, we stayed at the Hotel Aquamare. While in Latchi, we enjoyed watersports and took a boat trip to the Blue Lagoon. We had good food and good drinks, met great people, and overall had lots of fun.

Cyprus has Paphos and Polis. But in the hills of the Laona wine region, close to the western coast, lies a village that has kept its traditional character and its sweeping views. Inia is a small settlement of stone houses, narrow lanes, and a landscape of vineyards, olive groves, and sea views. The wind blows steadily here. The pace is slow. Here is how to explore this hidden Cypriot gem and save money with Trip.com. 1. The Village at Dawn: Stone and Silence Inia wakes slowly. By 9 AM, the cafés open and the village stirs. Come at 6 AM instead. The light is soft. The stone houses glow. You will walk through the narrow lanes with only the sound of birds and the rustle of the wind. It feels like a place where time has stood still. Pro Tip: Download the Trip.com offline map for Inia. It shows you the quietest routes through the village and the hidden viewpoints. The best photos are from the upper lanes at sunrise, when the sea glitters below. 2. The Old Church: A Spiritual Center The Church of Panagia in Inia is a beautiful stone building that anchors the village. The interior is simple and serene. The icons are old and beautiful. Come early. The church is quiet, and the light is soft. Money Hack: The church is free to enter. Skip the expensive guided tours. Sit in the pews and absorb the calm. Check Trip.com for an "Inia Walking Tour" that includes the church and the village. 3. The Vineyards and Olive Groves: A Taste of the Hills Inia is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, which have been cultivated here for centuries. The grapes are harvested in late summer, and the olives are pressed into oil in local mills. The farmers are proud of their craft. Come in the afternoon. The light is golden, and the groves are peaceful. Budget Advice: Skip the expensive souvenir shops. Buy olive oil and wine directly from a local farmer or mill. Check Trip.com for an "Inia Farm Trail" that shows you the best producers and the quietest times to visit. 4. Food That Tastes Like the Hills Cypriot village food is hearty and comforting. Try Kleftiko — slow-roasted lamb, cooked in a clay oven. Order Halloumi — grilled cheese, served with fresh bread. And do not miss Loukoumades — honey-soaked doughnuts, a local favourite. Where to Eat: Skip the expensive restaurants on the main square. Walk into the side streets and find Café Inia or Restoran Hills, where locals eat. The food is authentic, and the prices are fair. Check Trip.com for set menu deals — some places include a glass of local wine when you book through the app. Where to Stay? Book on Trip.com a guesthouse in the village. Look for something near the church or the vineyards. You will sleep in a stone room with a view of the sea, the sound of wind at night, and the scent of pine. The evenings are quiet, and the stars are bright. Conclusion: Inia is not a place you rush through. It is a place you breathe in. It is a village of stone and vine, of hills and sea views. It is a place where tradition is carved in stone. Cyprus is an island of sun and sea, but Inia is its rural soul. Come and walk the village at dawn. The hills are waiting. #trip_com #Cyprus #Inia #iniatravel #CyprusHiddenGems #Paphos #Vineyards #BudgetTravel #EuropeGuide #travelcyprus #VillageLife #HiddenCyprus #MountainVillage #CyprusVillages #RuralHeritage

Hired a self-drive boat from Latchi Watersports and went to the blue lagoon for a half day trip. Was incredible

Who would have thought that a seaside villa hotel could be full of spring colors! The courtyard is lush with greenery, flowers bloom in a well-arranged manner, and opening the window reveals a profusion of blossoms, with the sea view and spring scenery embracing each other. The room is clean and tidy, fully equipped and comfortable, with great privacy. The service is attentive and thoughtful, responding promptly. The breakfast is fresh and delicious, especially enjoyable with the sea breeze, creating a healing atmosphere that makes the vacation incredibly comfortable~

A great spot for a day trip, this shielded bay is one of the biggest lagoons in the Akamas peninsula. Travelers are attracted to its warm crystalline waters, ideal for swimming and snorkeling near the reef. You'll have clear views of the sea bed and the marine life that inhabits its waters. It's exceptionally popular in summer, so visit during other parts of the year if you want fewer crowds. The best way to get to the lagoon is by boat from Latchi harbor. Many sunset cruises and day tours from Paphos typically make a stop by the Blue Lagoon, too.
