The most beautiful Quanzhou.
The most beautiful Quanzhou!
Quanzhou, a city full of charm and vitality, attracts countless tourists with its unique scenery. Here, history and modernity are intertwined, culture and nature are integrated, forming a series of moving pictures.
When I first arrived in Quanzhou, the scenery was pleasant, as if it was a work of art carefully carved by nature. Climbing up Qingyuan Mountain, overlooking the entire city, you can see the houses are well-arranged, the streets are crisscrossed, prosperity and tranquility coexist, making people intoxicated.
The West Street in Quanzhou is a witness to history and culture. This ancient street bears the vicissitudes of Quanzhou's history for thousands of years. Walking on the bluestone-paved street, there are antique shops and houses on both sides, and occasionally you can meet girls in Hanfu, as if they have traveled back to that prosperous ancient times. The snacks on West Street are also unique, from steaming beef balls to fragrant frozen bamboo shoots, every bite is a deep experience of Quanzhou cuisine.
In addition to natural scenery and historical culture, Quanzhou also has rich folk activities. Every traditional festival, there will be grand celebrations, such as Lantern Festival, Dragon Boat Race, etc., which are very lively. These activities not only show the enthusiasm and vitality of the people of Quanzhou, but also allow tourists to feel the unique charm of this city more deeply.
During my trip to Quanzhou, I also found a surprise-the night view here is also beautiful. When night falls and the lights are on, the whole city seems to be lit up. The neon lights of high-rise buildings and the contour lights of ancient buildings reflect each other, forming a series of beautiful landscapes. Walking on the streets of Quanzhou at night, feeling the prosperity and tranquility of this city, as if in a dreamy fairy tale world.
The beauty of Quanzhou lies not only in its natural scenery and historical culture, but also in the people here. They are hospitable, simple and kind, making every tourist feel the warmth of home. During my days in Quanzhou, I met many local friends. They took me to taste authentic food, visit ancient sites hidden in the alleys, and told legendary stories about this city.
Quanzhou, a city that makes people linger. Its beauty lies in the natural charm between the mountains and rivers, and the humanistic atmosphere in the ancient streets and alleys. Here, every step is a new discovery, and every breath is a yearning for a better life. If you haven't been to Quanzhou, then take the time to come here and feel the unique charm of this city! I believe that from the moment you set foot on this land, you will be deeply attracted by its beauty and fall in love with everything here.

Self-driving tour: I would be sad if anyone missed the treasure 'Min C'
🌱 A Shui and Yang Zi's self-driving tour has now arrived at the historic and cultural city—Quanzhou
☘️ Quanzhou has a long history, existing since the Three Kingdoms period, and during the Song and Yuan dynasties, Quanzhou even became the world's largest port for a time. In 2021, it was directly designated as a 'World Cultural Heritage' site. Quanzhou is also the starting point of the 'Maritime Silk Road' recognized by the United Nations.
🍀 This time, due to the rush, we only stayed for 2 days and 1 night, which is completely insufficient to fully appreciate the beauty and mystery of Quanzhou, but this tip of the iceberg still makes me yearn for more.
1⃣️day: Since we arrived in the afternoon, we went straight to West Street after meeting up with friends. As a microcosm of the ancient city of Quanzhou for a thousand years, West Street is one of the must-visit and must-eat treasure spots. (Parking here is not very convenient, so be sure to navigate directly to the surrounding parking lots)
📍Route: Kaiyuan Temple - West Street - Xiaoxi Cheng - Bell Tower
🍛Cuisine: Four Fruit Soup - Meat Zongzi - Mianxian Hu - Handmade Mochi
🌟Highlights: In the evening, find a coffee shop, and on the rooftop terrace, enjoy the sunset with a few good friends while taking beautiful photos. The relaxation and comfort are truly heartwarming.
1⃣️day night: What I really liked and was even captivated by for a quarter of an hour was the night's itinerary—viewing the night scene of Qingyuan Mountain🌃. The initial shock after walking up the stairs is something I can never forget. The brilliantly lit night view is like a dazzling scroll, and the colorful neon lights add endless charm to this city.
Nighttime, from high buildings, the city small, with silver lights like flowing fireflies.
The bright lights resemble the moon in the sky, the colors like shining stars.
— Excerpt from 'Night Colors of a Small Town'
2⃣️day: Because I had to return to Fuzhou, I reached Hui'an County in the direction of Fuzhou. Originally, I came to visit the Chongwu Ancient City, but I fell in love with the sea here.
📍Route: Chongwu Ancient City - Hui Women Style Park - Xiaoyi Art Museum - Hui'an Windmill Island
🌟Highlights: The city tells of a rich culture, the sea plays the summer romance, the island watches over the vast blue sky, wishing time would slow down. The charm here is hard to capture with a camera, it's more about what enters the heart—
❤️ Having fun is important when you're out and about! Getting good photos is super important! I am Yang Zi, the one who takes you on cloud travels and provides you with travel tips. Life is a long journey, and we are on the road! The journey is long—anyone with additional suggestions or who wants to know about good scenic spots is welcome to leave a message for me!

This 5A-rated scenic spot in Fujian is known as 'the foremost Laozi in the world'
The most famous feature of Quanzhou's Qingyuan Mountain is the stone stele in front of the Laozi statue, which is inscribed with 'the foremost Laozi in the world'. It's pretty cool
Qingyuan Mountain is one of the eighteen scenic spots in Quanzhou and also a national key scenic area, consisting of three major sections: Qingyuan Mountain, Jiuri Mountain, and the Ling Mountain Sacred Tomb.
Since ancient times, Qingyuan Mountain has been famous for its 36 heavenly grottoes and 18 scenic spots, especially the Laojun Rock, Thousand-Hand Rock, Maitreya Rock, Bixiao Rock, Auspicious Elephant Rock, Tiger Milk Spring, South Platform Rock, Qingyuan Cave, and Engrace Rock.
The statue of Laozi has been listed as a national key cultural relic for protection and is a unique artistic treasure among Chinese Taoist stone carvings. According to the 'Quanzhou Prefecture Records' compiled during the Qianlong era of the Qing dynasty, 'The stone image was naturally formed, and enthusiasts have slightly carved it.' This indicates that it is a natural boulder resembling an old man, which was skillfully crafted by folk artisans into a seated statue of Laozi, the famous philosopher, thinker, and founder of Taoism from the Spring and Autumn period.
On the west side of the Maitreya Rock in Qingyuan Mountain Scenic Area, the 'Master Hongyi Pagoda' was built, housing the master's relics.
Transportation Information:
Take city buses 3, 10, 15, 28, 30, 45, etc., to get there.

Laojun Rock, known as 'the foremost Laozi in the world'
Visiting Quanzhou, one must not miss the Laojun Rock, which is acclaimed as 'the foremost Laozi in the world'!
Qingyuan Mountain is a dual heritage site of nature and culture in China, consisting of Qingyuan Mountain, Lingshan Mountain, and Jiuri Mountain. It is known as 'Wuyi in the north, Qingyuan in the south'.
The development of Qingyuan Mountain began in the Qin dynasty, flourished in the Tang and Song dynasties, and reached its peak during the Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. After centuries of development, it has left behind a wealth of cultural relics and historical sites. The most eye-catching is undoubtedly the 'foremost Laozi in the world'!
The Laozi statue of Qingyuan Mountain, located on the central axis of the ancient Quanzhou city, is a national key cultural heritage site. The entire statue is carved from a single piece of natural granite, measuring 5.63 meters in height, 8.01 meters in width, and 6.85 meters in thickness, covering an area of 55 square meters. It is the earliest and largest existing Taoist stone carving of Laozi in China and a typical representative of the diverse culture of Qingyuan Mountain, acclaimed as 'the foremost Laozi in the world'!

The leisurely walk in Qingyuan Mountain
5A Qingyuan Mountain
I got up in the morning, it was 2 degrees, the sun was shining, and I didn't feel cold.
Around 10 o'clock, I entered the Qingyuan Mountain scenic area and immediately felt the air was exceptionally fresh. The mountain trail or stone steps or wooden plank road are well built, with clear signs: \"The fitness trail to the top of the mountain is a total of 2700 meters\". It seems that the park does not think it has any particularly touching landscapes or cultural stories.
In actual walking, although there are no wonders, there are three points of interest: the statue of Laozi at the foot of the mountain (national protection), the stupa of Master Hongyi halfway up the mountain, and the cliff statue of Shijiamouni from the Song Dynasty near the top of the mountain (national protection). There are several huge rocks along the way, with inscriptions from ancient and modern times, making the climb not so monotonous. Especially the return to simplicity by Master Hongyi, the vigorous and powerful stone carvings of the Buddha character, can be savored over and over again. Standing on the viewing platform of General Rock, you can see the whole Quanzhou city area.
The area from Amitabha Rock to General Rock is the most rich in scenery. It is also the steepest, and many tourists stop and pant. In fact, going further to Nantai Rock, there is no more scenery, and there are some restaurants along the way, which add a bit of chaos. Tourists can stop and return.
When I reached Nantian Platform, the whole journey took about two hours and climbed 428 meters. There is a big stall where Quanzhou people drink morning tea after climbing the mountain. I ordered spicy blood sausage, chicken feet and small steamed buns. The taste was good, and the average cost was three euros. Then I took the park bus down the mountain.
On a beautiful day with a breeze, climbing high and looking far, it makes people feel refreshed, and I can't help but sigh that Guangdong and Fujian are good places for winter outings.

Quanzhou, a city that one must visit at least once in a lifetime
Explore the secret realms of Quanzhou, the legend of Laojun beneath Qingyuan Mountain
Qingyuan Mountain Scenic Area is truly a treasure trove, especially the mysterious and solemn Laojun Rock, which has left me in awe.
At dawn, the sunlight sprinkles on every inch of land in Qingyuan Mountain, as if gilding this ancient land with a layer of gold. I ascend the mountain path, surrounded by lush greenery and fresh air, which is utterly refreshing.
Finally, standing before Laojun Rock, I am deeply captivated by the sight. The colossal statue of Laojun, with a benevolent face and profound gaze, seems to have traversed through a millennium, silently guarding this land. The intricate carving of the statue, with clearly visible garment lines, showcases the wisdom and craftsmanship of the ancients.
Legend has it that Laojun Rock is the incarnation of Laozi, the founder of Taoism, and his image is eternally preserved here. Whenever the wind blows, I seem to hear Laojun whispering his wisdom and teachings, inspiring awe in me.
Around Laojun Rock, ancient trees reach for the sky, and the greenery is lush. I sit on a rock, quietly appreciating this tranquility and beauty. Visitors come by from time to time, their faces filled with wonder and admiration.

Qingyuan Mountain: Pilgrimage to the Supreme Laojun, a must-visit on your Quanzhou trip
Qingyuan Mountain is one of the eighteen scenic spots of Quanzhou and also a national key scenic area, consisting of three major sections: Qingyuan Mountain, Jiuri Mountain, and Ling Mountain Sacred Tomb. Since ancient times, Qingyuan Mountain has been famous for its 36 grotto-heavens and 18 scenic spots, especially Laojun Rock, Thousand-Hand Rock, Maitreya Rock, Bixiao Rock, Auspicious Elephant Rock, Tiger Milk Spring, South Platform Rock, Qingyuan Cave, and Engrace Rock.
According to the 'Quanzhou Prefecture Records' compiled during the Qing dynasty, Qingyuan Mountain was first developed during the Qin dynasty. During the Tang dynasty, the 'three teachings' of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism coexisted here, with traces of activities from Islam, Manichaeism, and Tibetan Buddhism as well.
Due to limited time during the Spring Festival, I looked at travel tips from netizens and wanted to focus on seeing Laojun Rock, so I chose the nearest route and drove directly to the southwest second gate. From the Gate of Wonders → Laojun Rock → Yuan Yuan Cave → Dragon-Seeing Platform → Master Hongyi's Relic Stupa, and then back the same way, the trip took about two hours. Walking and stopping along the way, the scenery was great! Of course, there are many other sights I didn't visit, leaving a reason to come back next time! 🌞
🌈 Main Attractions:

A treasure of Taoist stone carving art. Located on the central axis of ancient Quanzhou city, it is the earliest and largest existing Taoist stone carving of Laozi in China, and a typical representative of the diverse culture of Qingyuan Mountain.

The boundary between Taoism and Buddhism in the mountain. The 'Dust-Free' inscription on the stone was written by Master Hongyi. In the past, Taoist priests and monks often met here to discuss scriptures, drink tea, and play chess.
⭐ Master Hongyi's Relic Stupa
A stone stupa with a hexagonal spire and a square body. The 'Portrait of Master Hongyi' carved in the center of the inner wall is the 'Tears Ink Painting' drawn by the cartoonist Feng Zikai for his mentor. The last words 'Joy and Sorrow Intermingled' by the master are inscribed on a large rock on the east side.

Qingyuan Mountain not only looks at Laozi but also at Master Hongyi
My mother greatly appreciates the legendary life of Master Hongyi. Before going to Hangzhou Tiger Run, there are many places about Hongyi in Quanzhou, such as the Hongyi Memorial Hall in Quanzhou Kaiyuan Temple, Chengtian Temple Hongyi Incarnation Place and so on. But what impressed me was the statue of Master Hongyi in Qingyuan Mountain and his famous calligraphy: mixed feelings of joy and sorrow. Of course, going to Qingyuan Mountain will definitely see that big sculpture: Laozi statue, and the stele of Laozi being the best in the world, it's worth going to Qingyuan Mountain once!
