All Things Matcha
Do you know that Matcha has one of the highest source of antioxidants, which helps in anti aging? That's why consuming matcha is good and my favourite hang out place for all things matcha has got to be 'Matchaya'! Even my kids love their matcha items.
Dive straight into their menu, and their hot favourite is their matcha soft serve and their matcha milk tea. Upon ordering their matcha drinks, their lovely staff would whisk the matcha powder on the spot so that your drinks would be smoother and more flavourful. Just love this tea experience! Their matcha soft serve is slightly bitter but yet creamy and milky at the same time, my kids all time favourite! Other pastries, drinks and tubs of ice cream are sold, though my favourite is still their matcha drinks and soft serve. Get your antioxidants fix at matchaya today!
Teatime at Matchaya Suntec
What comes across your mind when you hear the term Matchaya?
As you can tell, this cafe sells all things matcha from drinks, cakes, ice creams and desserts. Coffee lovers can find themselves disappointed as there are no options for coffee made available for purchase
The store at Suntec City is rather quiet on weekdays evening and livens up on weekend afternoons as you see here in these photos.
Address: 2 Handy Rd, #01-08 / 09 The Cathay, Singapore 229233
There are a number of cafes specialized in Matcha items in Singapore. One of them is Matchaya, which has a total of 6 outlets in Singapore, & 4 with dine in spaces.
For the outlet near Dhoby Ghaut MRT, there are all day brunch and mains, in addition to the tea-inspired desserts and drinks. I had eaten their Matcha soft serve ice cream with Warabi mochi and shiratama toppings. While the ice cream is not so sweet and very nice, the price is certainly on the high side.
The cafe is also very nicely decorated with a Christmas feel. It feels quite comfortable and relaxing eating in the cafe too.
For the Matcha Enthusiasts
Address - JEM and Takashimaya
Ambiance/Facilities - Chic and modern decoration with clean and open concept dining area, coupled with friendly service and good desserts. However, I would not recommend the coffee as it had very bitter aftertaste. The matcha soft serve was great, not too sweet.
Avg. Price per Person - $15
Rating - I will be back when I need that matcha fix.
