Coming for the Tower of the Sun - Expo '70 Commemorative Park
The most famous attraction in Expo '70 Commemorative Park is undoubtedly the Tower of the Sun. Many people visit the park specifically for this tower, and I am no exception. As soon as you enter the park, you can see the Tower of the Sun. Although its appearance is quite peculiar, it is visually striking. At the entrance of the park, there are phone stands where you can place your phone to take a photo with the Tower of the Sun, which is a very thoughtful and user-friendly design.
The Tower of the Sun is open for tours inside, where you can see its structure and exhibitions, but there is an admission fee to see the Tree of Life inside the tower. It's important to note that photography is only allowed on the first floor of the tower. If you want to take photos while climbing the Tree of Life, you need to pay an additional 500 yen for a photo bag.
During the descent from the tower, you can see the construction process of the Tower of the Sun. The descriptions next to these photos document what was built at different stages, which is quite impressive. It's amazing to think that such innovative ideas existed in the 1970s.
The park is spacious with fresh air. Although there are quite a few people, it doesn't affect the pleasant mood. It's a great park worth visiting, highly recommended.

Indulging in Photography in the Flower Paradise - Nemophila at Expo '70 Commemorative Park and Us.
I went to Expo '70 Commemorative Park in Osaka with my photography friends.
Just as I had seen on Instagram, it was a wonderful place filled with colorful flowers, including Nemophila. Armed with my newly purchased camera, my friends and I set out for a photo session. The contrast between the vibrant flowers and the blue sky in the vast park was incredibly beautiful, and every time I held the camera, the joy of snapping photos spread. Walking on the carpet of flowers and taking pictures felt like being in a dream. We spent a memorable time, fully experiencing the beauty of nature.

Expo '70 Commemorative Park in Osaka
If you're planning to visit Osaka, make sure to take a stroll through the Expo '70 Commemorative Park. The park is vast, covering approximately 260 hectares, and still retains some traditional Japanese gardens and folk art museums for visitors to enjoy. Each season brings different blooming flowers, making it a must-visit for flower enthusiasts who will find endless photo opportunities. Visitors can be seen buying bento boxes and leisurely enjoying their meals while taking in the beautiful scenery. Where else can you find a place that offers sunsets, various types of flowers, and stunning landscapes all in one? Nearby, there's also a large shopping mall that features a massive aquarium where animals can roam freely. This place is highly recommended, and I hope you enjoy my introduction! Thank you!

💮🤗 During our wonderful vacation, I set off on an exciting journey to the bustling metropolis of Japan. The arrival of spring had added a unique allure to the environment, and we felt refreshed as we explored the renowned Expo ’70 Commemorative Park. Delving into the luxurious scenery of this picturesque sanctuary, we were captivated by the breathtaking vistas that welcomed us at every corner.
Osaka’s Expo ’70 Commemorative Park, a place of historical significance, continues to attract visitors even after more than half a century since it hosted the World Exposition. With over 5,500 cherry trees, the park provides a delightful opportunity to admire nine different varieties, ranging from the elegant Yoshino to the graceful weeping cherry trees. For a picturesque hanami picnic, the park offers ample open spaces, particularly around the magnificent Tower of the Sun sculpture by renowned artist Taro Okamoto. Entrance fee is a mere ¥260, a small price to pay for the enchanting experience of witnessing the illuminated sakura trees in the evening.

A grand flowering in a grand park
The Expo-70 Memorial Park is worth a visit anyway. A walk through the vast area can easily take an entire day. However, it is especially beautiful here in the midst of cherry blossoms. Couples in love, families, friends and colleagues tend to go to the park to drink, relax and unwind.
How to get there
If you drive from Shin-Osaka or Umeda station on the Midosuji Subway line, you should get off at Senri-Chuo Station. After that, you need to switch to the monorail and drive two stops to Banpaku-Kinen-Koen station. The bus stop is right in front of the park.
Planning a trip
Sakura usually blooms in the first or second week of April. If you are in Japan at this time, take time for a leisurely rest in the memorial park and appreciate its landscapes. Locals often party here late into the night.

Expo ‘70 Commemorative Park at Osaka
Went to visit the Expo ‘70 Commemorative Park - Tower of the Sun, Tulips and Cherry Blossoms. Thankfully, it was a really sunny day. While it was crowded on a weekend, it was very manageable and easy to go to different places and take pictures. Would advise buying the tickets to the tower of the sun museum and coming early afternoon so that you won’t be caught rushing to the train station afterwards and be sandwiched.

Early morning, and I was fresh from my hotel. I was on my way to visit the Tower of the Sun when I passed by this park. Expo Commemorative Park is another serene place in Suita. It is said to be 264 hectares big, with its own educational and recreational facilities. I loved the view in this park, very relaxing. If you are planning to visit the Tower of the Sun, you might as well drop by this place.
