Nature Park Easily Accessible From Shopping Mall
Some of us may be reluctant to visit a nature park as it may not be easily accessible. One may need to drive or there may be no nearby bus stops or mrt trains that leads to the nature park. However, this may not be the case anymore.
Now, we can all rejoice and visit the Rifle Range nature park which can be easily accessible from Beauty World shopping mall. An overhead bridge connects Rifle range nature park directly to Beauty World mall and the good news is that there are bus stops and Beauty World mrt station which is nearby the nature park and mall. They are all walkable distance from the mall and nature park. Do note that the link bridge that connects to the nature park is closed daily from 7pm - 7am. Once you walk over to the park, follow the proper pavements and it will eventually lead you to the park's visitor Pavillion or to the different hiking routes. Happy hiking and now you know you don't have to drive to reach a beautiful nature park!

Yummy Cakes $5 And Below
Valentine's Day is coming and you're stressing out on what to get for your other half. Well fear not, because you can get affordable and delicious cakes, without buying a hole in your wallet. I am pretty sure every girl has a sweet tooth and i myself would be delighted to get a box of cakes for Valentine's day. At Nineteen Niche Bakery at Beauty World shopping mall, one can get different kinds of cakes at $5 and below. Isn't that super duper affordable?
A whole pandan chiffon cake is at $5, it is soft and has a fragrant pandan taste and smell. There's yummy taro, devil chocolate, mango moose and strawberry yoghurt cake slices, each at $4-$4.80. Do try their Japanese light cream puffs and butter cake loaf at $5 each too. Everything was so yummy and their cakes put a smile on my face instantly. Valentine's day doesn't have to be expensive, it can be cheap, good, delicious and makes someone's day!

Of Pineapple Balls and Many More
It's less than a month to Chinese new year and I am already looking forward to indulge in my once a year CNY goodies. I mean who doesnt like all the CNY treats? I found the perfect place to get all these delicious goodies without breaking the bank.
On the 3rd floor of beauty world centre, one can easily spot the bakery shop 'Nineteen niche'. The shop is filled with rows and stacks of different CNY goodies like your pineapple balls, love letters, kueh bangkit, spicy prawn rolls, etc. The selection of cookies and goodies are endless. The shop has also been featured on the newspapers and they are famous for their pineapple balls which look like huge golf balls! For a tub of 28-30 pineapple balls, it is sold at $22.80. Generally cheaper than many other shops who sells it for more than $28. Many of their other items are also sold within the affordable range. Without a doubt, their baked goods are awesome and yummy and I love supporting local businesses. You will love it too!

Affordable Artisanal Coffee/Tea at Hawker Centre
Did you know there's an open air hawker centre at the top of beauty world centre? I was just there today and there were many different delicious food stalls but one particular stall caught my attention as there was a line of people waiting in front of it. This stall is called 'kopifellas' and they are selling artisanal coffee and tea drinks at a super affordable price.
While other cafes may sell their drinks easily above $6, kopifellas are selling them at below $5. You can get your basic kopi/teh and you can get artisanal coffee such as your mocha or cold white brew. Then, there's also special teas like Thai green milk tea and honey oolong milk tea, etc. You get to choose the size of your drink/cup too. I managed to order 2 different coffee drinks from them and I have no complains at all. Coffee was strong and had the right sugar level, while the iced milk tea was really good. Order their kaya toast next time if you want to make it into a set for breakfast or tea break.

Desserts That You Must Try
Zheng Xing desserts is a simple dessert stall selling only four types of traditional desserts such as tau suan, Bubur teringu, pilut hitam and green bean & sago. Each dessert only cost $2 a bowl, which is really affordable. Their desserts are very delicious and not too sweet.
Currently, zheng xing desserts has 2 outlets in Singapore, one in Albert centre while the other is at beauty world centre. I visited their beauty world outlet and ordered their tau suan and pilut hitam. I was impressed by these 2 desserts. The tau suan was thick and full of yellow beans. With the crispy you tiao, the tau suan was perfect. Their pilut hitam was served with thick coconut milk and goes hand in hand with the thick black glutinous rice. I was even more impressed to see the stall being awarded the most nominated favourite hawker in Singapore award. You have to try their desserts to know why they stand out.

Arts @ MRT - Beauty World
If you can recall, when Downtown Line was opened officially, all rides taken were complimentary for the public to test out the new MRT line. There were also games for completing the quest to identify the clues that align the Downtown Line stations. In particular, I like the designs at Beauty World station. It is also the nearest station to Bukit Timah Hawker Centre. At this station, you can see the display of Asemic Lines which represents the multi-cultural mix of language and let commuters visualise them on their own. It is fun to interpret the art with your understanding. Some may see it as wording and some might see it as train tracks.
