For a family trip in Zhumadian, the first day can be spent at Chaya Mountain. Chaya Mountain is really the top choice for family hiking. The mountain isn’t high, the difficulty is low, and the scenery is especially beautiful. It’s recommended to start early to avoid crowds. The scenic area has many elements from Journey to the West because it’s one of the filming locations. Telling the kids the story of Journey to the West makes them very interested. On the way up, you can see many unique rocks that look like monkeys, turtles, and elephants. The kids enjoy looking at them all along the way and don’t feel tired at all. Tianmo Lake is a must-visit; the scenery by the lake is stunning, and you can ride a bamboo raft for 60 yuan per person, which the kids love. The mountain slide is a must-try too.
