Sometimes, I’ll stop by a riverside café for a refreshing drink and simply enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. ☕️🌿 Early mornings are especially peaceful, with scenic views and beautiful reflections shimmering on the river. At night, the riverside comes alive with colourful lights and a vibrant atmosphere. Sometimes, I also enjoy the Melaka River Cruise —a 40-minute, 9-kilometre boat ride along the historic river, passing colourful murals, traditional kampungs and colonial landmarks. It’s another relaxing way to appreciate the city from a different perspective. This is definitely my kind of slow travel in Malacca —strolling, taking photos, sipping coffee and enjoying the scenery at my own pace. How about you? Whether it’s a 2D1N or 3D2N trip, that’s more than enough to enjoy the city at a relaxed pace! Melaka is a relatively small city, so most of the major attractions, historic sites and renowned eateries are conveniently located close to one another. Whether you’re into food, art, culture or history, you’ll easily find something to enjoy. My family and I love strolling along the Melaka River or Klebang Beach in the morning, enjoying the peaceful atmosphere before the crowds arrive. We also enjoy wandering around town, trying local food and admiring the beautiful heritage architecture and historic buildings. Sometimes, all we need is a cup of coffee while watching pedestrians pass by. We don’t necessarily go to the hottest cafes or eateries just to queue up —we prefer discovering somewhere nice at our own pace. And on some days, we simply relax by the hotel pool, enjoy a refreshing drink at the bar, or take a good afternoon nap. 😌 Isn’t that what a truly hassle-free vacation should feel like? guide The Majestic Malacca is nestled in a beautifully restored heritage building, blending colonial charm with old-world elegance. Overlooking the Malacca River, this upscale hotel is located just opposite Kampung Morten and within walking distance of Dutch Square and Jonker Street. We had a memorable and wonderful 3D2N stay here! Check-in was smooth and welcoming, and we were greeted with a lovely pot of lychee tea and some cute, nostalgic snacks. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout our stay. The complimentary 50-minute spa experience was fantastic and a definite highlight. Our classy and elegant suite featured a separate sitting area, river views, a four-poster bed, and a bathtub. The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable, while the antique-style furniture gave it the charming feel of an old mansion. We especially enjoyed the beautiful view of Kampung Morten and the boats cruising along the river. The hotel also has an upscale restaurant. We initially expected a buffet breakfast, but were pleasantly surprised when breakfast was served at our table with several options to choose from. The food was delicious and scrumptious. There is also a relaxing lounge and an old-world-style bar. Other facilities include an airy library, outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, and convenient on-site parking. Overall, it was a wonderful stay combining heritage charm, elegant accommodation, attentive service, and a great location by the Malacca River. Definitely a memorable place to experience the old-world side of Melaka.

The aesthetic 3-storey heritage building features charming traditional Chinese architecture and retro decor, with plenty of photo-worthy corners throughout the store. The store is well organized, making it easy for tourists to browse its extensive range of local delicacies. You'll find everything from durian and coconut snacks to dodol, cookies, and other traditional treats. They are especially well known for their high-quality Gula Melaka (palm sugar) products, which are rich, authentic, and full of flavour. I also stopped by their café to enjoy a bowl of cendol. The cozy atmosphere made it the perfect place to relax and cool down after exploring Jonker Street under the hot sun. The cendol was refreshing and delicious. As one of Melaka's most popular tourist attractions, the shop can get quite busy, especially on weekends. However, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and they often offer free samples so you can taste the products before making a purchase.
