The streets are pedestrianised with shops, bars and restaurants jostling for attention amongst the old castle and churches. It won’t take you long to wonder around but it’s worth doing. My travel plan for you: • start in beautiful cafe “Alice” for an amazing cake and coffee; • then it’s shopping time in variety of artisan shops, galleries, jewellers, clothes, souvenir shops • time to visit Saripolou Square is the Holy Cathedral of Virgin Mary Pantanassis. Also in the area is the Ayia Napa Cathedral and the small dolphin fountain along with some traditional old buildings. • you could visit old castle in Limassol Cyprus which houses an archaeological museum. Located right behind the Old Port. Very reasonably priced and extensive. Day 1 Explored Roman-era mosaics at Paphos Archaeological Park at a leisurely pace. Followed the path leading to the sea and arrived at Paphos Castle, where taking a photo is a must. Day 2 Early morning visit to Aphrodite's Rock. The sea is so transparent that you understand why the goddess is said to have been born here. 🌊 If you go when the sunlight is perfect, every photo turns out amazing. Day 3–4 | Heading to the Mountains, Troodos Leaving the sea behind for a while and heading to the Troodos Mountains, known as the roof of Cyprus. ⛰️ Day 3 Omodos Village feels like a fairytale with every alley. Strolled slowly and enjoyed a glass of Commandaria wine. Thinking, "This is one of the oldest wines in the world," makes it taste even better. 🍷 Day 4 Visited a few hidden Byzantine churches in the mountains and went for a light trek towards a waterfall. Feeling a bit tired, but arriving in Limassol in that state makes the relaxation even sweeter. Day 5–6 | Limassol, True Relaxation Days The real highlight of this trip starts here. Day 5 Complete luxury staycation at a resort like Parklane Luxury Collection. Champagne in the morning, a bite of grilled halloumi cheese. I managed to book Maido, the newly crowned world's number one restaurant in 2025, at the last minute! Seeing so many people booking two months in advance and still not getting a table, I was incredibly lucky! The overall flavor was on the salty side, but the creativity with the ingredients was very high, making it quite delicious. It's a Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine, and they explain each dish in detail, patiently checking on the progress of the food. I was a little worried beforehand because I saw many online reviews saying the service was so-so, but overall, the experience was very good. The price is around $500 per person, and tipping is not mandatory. Having traveled all the way to Lima, I think it's definitely worth experiencing the world's top restaurant.
