Kosai travel guide and discussion

While staying at a hotel in Hamamatsu, I was looking for things to do nearby and stumbled upon this place. 📍Toyoda Sakichi Memorial Museum📍 The name "Toyoda" might ring a bell—this museum, which opened in October 1988 in Kosai, Shizuoka, commemorates the 120th anniversary of the birth of Sakichi Toyoda, the founder of the Toyota Group. The best part? Admission is completely free! 🆓 I was honestly shocked. The site is immaculately preserved, and the gardens and observation deck are so well-maintained that it’s a lovely place just to stroll around. With lush greenery and trees laden with persimmons and oranges, it feels like a charming little nature trail. Since the weather was perfect, I had a fantastic time. My top recommendation is the exhibition hall located right next to his childhood home. They have a loom inside that you can actually try out! You can sit down and operate the machinery yourself, which was such a unique and valuable experience. A 30-minute visit is plenty of time to see everything. Plus, parking is free too. I’m so glad I decided to venture out a bit from my hotel!

Located in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, the Arai Barrier (新居関所) was a crucial checkpoint along the Tokaido during the Edo period. It is the only remaining historical site with preserved checkpoint structures, making it an exceptional place to learn about the transportation system and governance of the Edo shogunate. The reconstructed buildings of the Arai Barrier are primarily wooden structures. Inside, visitors can see inspection tools, ancient documents, and traveler records from the time. The layout includes the residence of the checkpoint chief and the women's inspection room, offering a glimpse into the past as if stepping back in time. The exhibition hall provides multilingual explanations in Chinese, English, and Japanese, making it an ideal destination for history and culture enthusiasts. After visiting the barrier, you can also take a stroll to the nearby old Tokaido street to enjoy the well-preserved historic townscape and riverside scenery. 📍Address: 1227-5 Arai-cho, Nishi-ku, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture 🚇Access: About an 8-minute walk from JR Arai Station 🕰️Hours: 09:00–16:30 (Closed on Mondays, or the following day if Monday is a holiday) 💰Admission: Adults ¥400, Elementary and Middle School Students ¥150

Rather than being retro, it feels so historic that it should be designated an important cultural property. It's like going back in time! There were no people there, so I asked the attendant if I could take some photos☺️♨️ It's so cute! I've never seen anything like it before, so it was fresh! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♨️~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Midori-yu public bath (established in 1879) 📍1127 Arai, Arai-cho, Kosai-shi, Shizuoka 🚃10 minutes walk from Arai-cho Station ⏰16:30-22:00 Closed on Wednesdays 💰Adults 400 yen Elementary school students 150 yen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♨️~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ※Check the latest information before going! So meaty and easy to eat😋🍴✨ There is no takeout or mail order, so you can only eat it locally! You have to wait! But it's worth the wait! I ate it at Sawayaka Kosai Hamanako store I got the summer vegetable set that is only available at this store! They grilled it on a charcoal grill for vegetables All the vegetables were sweet and delicious😋 I didn't know it was available only at certain stores I was glad I could eat it☺️☺️☺️ You have to wait, but Maybe it was because the weather wasn't so good that day It was a Saturday, but I was lucky and got in in about 45 minutes😊 #ShizuokaPrefecture #ShizuokaGourmet #Hamburger #SawayakaHamburger #Sawayaka #StoreLimited #SummerVegetables #CharcoalGrilled

There were 4.5 trees planted in the back of the park, and they were blooming beautifully ✿ﾟ❀.(*´▽`*)❀.ﾟ✿ This time, I went to two spots for Ochiba Sakura, but neither of them were very impressive, and both were cute and small (〃艸〃)♡ Cute cherry blossoms are nice too ∑d(≧▽≦*) 🏍Ochiba no Sato Water Park🏍 Address: Ochiba, Kosai City, Shizuoka Prefecture Opening hours: 24 hours #Sakura2024 #shinobichan
