Driving just about two hours from Sydney brings you to this charming coastal town. And Kiama Downs, less than a 10-minute drive from the Kiama town center, turned out to be the biggest surprise of my trip. ⸻ Day 1 | Strolling Through Kiama & Experiencing Classic Coastal Scenery Upon arriving in Kiama, your first stop naturally has to be the famous Kiama Blowhole. As the waves crash against the rock walls, seawater instantly shoots up through the cave into the sky. The sound is incredibly thunderous and spectacular, drawing visitors to stop and marvel at every eruption. Even if it's not your first visit, you still can't help but grab your camera and snap away. Taking a leisurely stroll along the coastal track, the deep blue sea, lush green grass, and pristine white lighthouse blend together to form the most quintessential Australian coastal view. ⸻ Kiama Harbour | Traveling at a Slower Pace Rather than rushing from one attraction to another, I prefer sitting at Kiama Harbour, watching the fishing boats slowly glide in and out of the port. Sydney South Coast | Chasing the coastline to the sunset Heading south from Sydney feels like flipping through a picture book. Sea Cliff Bridge, Minnamurra, Kiama, Gerrigong, and finally Kangaroo Valley — stunning scenery unfolds along the long coastline, with the vast Pacific Ocean on one side and gentle pastoral landscapes on the other. 🌊 Minnamurra The white sandy beach looks like a pearl set in the blue sea, with only swimmers and flying seagulls around. I really envy those who can swim and fly, but just watching is satisfying enough. The hillside is covered with large lawns, looking like emerald velvet under the sunlight. Lying there, smelling the fresh grass, you can almost hear the grass growing. I just want to lie there all day long. 🌅 Kiama & Gerrigong Here, the waves roll onto the shore layer by layer, like the ocean gently turning the pages of a book. Rolling hills and surging waves, mountains and sea intertwined, the scene is so complete it needs no extra touches. In the town of Kiama, I had a huge serving of fish and chips and left fully satisfied. 🦘 Kangaroo Valley · Evening The sunset dyes the entire valley a honey color, with golden light like melted honey slowly flowing over every leaf. Various shades of green weave together, quiet and gentle under the sunlight. Here, I encountered wild kangaroos. They were quite shy, nothing like tough fighters; they hopped away as soon as they heard footsteps. On the grass, I also met a chubby wombat. Surrounded by a group of people taking photos, it didn’t even lift its eyelids, staying focused on eating. Along this journey, there was sea breeze, the scent of grass, sunshine, and adorable little animals. It’s a South Coast moment I want to save in my memory and savor slowly.

If you want to check in at multiple points at once, chartering a car is the way to go!
