I recently visited Wangxiangu in Jiangxi over the weekend and have some practical advice to share. Is it worth visiting? I personally think it is, but timing is crucial! During the day, it might seem ordinary, but once the lights are on at night, it's truly stunning. I recommend arriving around 5 PM to catch both the sunset and the night view. The blue hour (half an hour after sunset) is particularly beautiful with a blue sky. The night view is also impressive, with bonfire performances and other shows adding to the lively atmosphere. Be sure to bring a fan as the entire area is outdoors with no air conditioning. It can get very hot, especially in summer with many tourists. Even on a cloudy day, I sweated a lot. Check the weather in advance, and if it's sunny, bring an umbrella, sunscreen, and a hat as it can be both hot and sunny. Also, bring filling snacks and refreshing drinks. There are many dining options in the area, but most lack air conditioning, making it very hot. Only a few restaurants have air conditioning, and they might be booked by tour groups during summer, leaving no seats. You might want to bring your own food to have a quick bite when hungry. For photography, the best spots are Baige Bridge and Baihe Cliff. The blue hour is the best time for photos. If you have a drone, bring it along as some popular angles can only be captured with one. Regarding accommodation, staying in the area depends on your budget. If you have a higher budget, staying at a hotel is convenient and allows you to see the sunrise the next day. If not, staying outside is fine as the night view is the main attraction. If you have time and want to enjoy water activities, try the rafting. The route is long with significant drops and fast currents, making it thrilling. Remember to bring quick-dry clothes, water shoes, goggles, a waterproof phone bag, and a disposable towel.
