Nestled in the heart of the Dolomites, Lago di Carezza is one of the most beautiful alpine lakes in Italy. On a sunny day, the crystal clear water reflects the surrounding peaks and pine forests, creating incredible shades of emerald, turquoise, and blue. According to local legend, the lake’s vibrant colors were created by a rainbow left behind by a wizard, earning it the nickname “The Rainbow Lake.” One of the best things about Lago di Carezza is that it transforms completely with the seasons. In spring and summer, the colorful water and lush forests create one of the most photogenic landscapes in the Dolomites. In winter, the lake becomes a peaceful snowy wonderland, with frozen shores, snow covered pine trees, and the dramatic peaks creating a magical alpine scene. Visiting in both seasons feels like discovering two completely different destinations. The lake is easily accessible via a short, well maintained walking path with several panoramic viewpoints. Arriving early in the morning gives you the best chance to enjoy calm reflections and avoid the crowds. Swimming is not allowed, helping preserve this fragile natural treasure, but every viewpoint offers spectacular photo opportunities. If you’re planning a Dolomites road trip, Lago di Carezza is an easy stop between Bolzano and Val di Fassa, and it combines perfectly with destinations like Seceda, Alpe di Siusi, or Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Whether you visit for the vibrant summer colors or the enchanting winter scenery, this is one of those places that truly lives up to the hype. #lagodicarezza #dolomites #italytravel #southtyrol #mountainlake #naturelovers #hikingadventures #travelitaly #scenicspotguide #naturalwonders #travel2026 #italy #unforgettableexperiences

Sharp peaks, green meadows, turquoise lakes, and pink sunsets — the Dolomites look like a magazine cover. This is a place where you just want to stop and stare. Why go: · Unique landscapes and alpenglow (Enrosadira) · Summer — hiking, winter — skiing (1,200 km of slopes) · A blend of Italian, Austrian, and Ladin cultures What to do: · Hike the classic Tre Cime (Three Peaks) loop · Take the cable car up to the Seceda ridge · Rent a rowboat on Lago di Braies · Try via ferrata — beginner-friendly · Visit Europe's highest brewery (2,050 m) Budget stays: · Guesthouses / apartments — from €80–120/night · Agriturismo (farm stays) — ~€120 with breakfast · Mountain rifugios (huts) — from €110 for the high-altitude experience Tip: Look for accommodation in small towns, not Cortina. Getting there without a car: · Fly into Venice, Milan, or Innsbruck · Train to Bolzano — then bus 350 into the valleys · Most hotels give you a Guest Pass — free public transport in the region · Book the bus to Tre Cime in advance during peak season 📌Note: Don't chase too many spots. It’s the perfect place to slow down before heading home. Along the way, stop at local mountain huts for traditional South Tyrolean dishes like canederli, speck, apple strudel, and Kaiserschmarrn. Some of the best memories come from the unplanned stops at scenic viewpoints, so don’t be afraid to take your time. 💡 Road trip tips: · The best time to visit is from June to early October. · Rent a car for maximum flexibility, as many viewpoints aren’t easily reached by public transport. · Start driving early each day to avoid traffic and secure parking at popular attractions. · Download offline maps, as mobile signal can be limited in some mountain areas. The Dolomites are one of those destinations where the journey is just as spectacular as the places you visit. Every mountain pass reveals a new landscape, making this one of the most unforgettable road trips in Europe. #Dolomites #RoadTrip #Italy #SouthTyrol #Seceda #AlpeDiSiusi #LagoDiBraies #TreCime #ValDiFunes #PassoGardena #MountainRoads #ExploreItaly #ScenicDrive #TripMoments #TravelInspiration

In the heart of the Dolomites lies a half-day magical town experience. On the third day of our in-depth Italy tour last summer, we arrived at the Dolomites and stayed in Canazei for about half a day. Although the time was short, the gems of the Fassa Valley left a deep impression on the entire team. From the town, we walked towards the cable car up to Sass Pordoi at an altitude of 2,950 meters. This place is known as the "Balcony of the Dolomites," where you can take in panoramic views of Marmolada Peak, the Rosengarten group, and the Sella group from the observation deck. When the afternoon sunlight shines on the limestone, it creates a desolate, Mars-like surface, making it perfect for filming movies.

🌟The Dolomites, God's backyard left in the Alps, were listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in 2009. Here you’ll find jagged gray-white peaks, emerald-green lakes, Europe’s largest alpine meadows, and the most iconic solitary church straight out of a postcard. Four days and three nights, driving yourself through this secret land to collect mountain and sea wonders all at once~👇 🛫 DAY 1: Funes Valley · The Solitary Church from the Postcard🏔️ 🌅Rent a car from Venice or Milan (about 2.5 hours from Venice, about 4.5 hours from Milan) and head straight to Funes Valley. Arrive in the afternoon at the village of Santa Magdalena deep in the valley, the deepest part of Funes Valley, known as the "Pearl of South Tyrol." Check into a valley guesthouse with a window view of the towering Geisler Peaks. 🌄In the evening, visit the Church of St. John (Chiesetta di San Giovanni in Ranui). This small church surrounded by fields is called "the loneliest church in the world," backed by the jagged Geisler Peaks, making it the most classic postcard scene of the Dolomites. Parking costs 2 euros, and an additional 4 euros is required to enter the church surroundings. At sunset, the peaks turn rose gold, breathtakingly beautiful. 🚶‍♀️Then take a walk to the Santa Magdalena Church; the two churches are about a 30-minute walk apart, passing charming villages and fields along the way. 🏔️ DAY 2: Seceda and the Hughes Plateau · Nature’s Masterpiece⛰️ 🌞In the morning, head to Ortisei, an important transport hub in the Dolomites, and a fairy-tale-like town itself. After parking, take the cable car up to Seceda. The cable car takes about 20-30 minutes to reach Seceda at 2,519 meters elevation. The iconic tilted mountain is half gentle grassy slope and half vertical silver-white cliff, hence the name "Seceda" or "Blade Mountain," a rare landform worldwide. It’s recommended to come in the afternoon as the mountain’s true face is not visible in the morning backlight. 🍽️Lunch at the mountain hut: enjoy South Tyrolean specialties like speck ham sandwiches and apple strudel. 🌊In the afternoon, take the cable car to the Hughes Plateau, Europe’s largest alpine meadow, covering 56 square kilometers. Stroll through wildflower-filled meadows with cowbells jingling, surrounded by the Schlern mountains, as if stepping into the movie scene of "Heidi and Grandpa." 💧 DAY 3: The Three Peaks and Lake Braies · A Hiker’s Paradise🥾 🌞Early morning, head to the Three Peaks (Tre Cime di Lavaredo), the symbol of the Dolomites, three peaks around 3,000 meters high piercing the sky like a trident. Parking must be reserved online in advance, or entry is not allowed. The hiking loop around the Three Peaks is about 10 kilometers, taking 3-4 hours with moderate difficulty. 🍽️Mountain huts along the way offer rest and meals to recharge. 🌊In the afternoon, visit Lake Braies, known as the "Pearl of the Dolomites," with emerald clear waters surrounded by majestic 2,810-meter peaks. In summer, you can rent a boat to row to the center of the lake. Note that parking during peak season requires advance reservation; it’s best to arrive before 9 a.m. 🌅 DAY 4: Lake Carezza and Return🛶 🌞In the morning, drive to Lake Carezza, an emerald lake backed by the Latemar mountains, with pine forests reflecting on the water, comparable to the colorful pools of Jiuzhaigou. The lake is most beautiful in sunlight, and a walk around it takes about 30 minutes. 🍽️Lunch by the lake, savoring local specialties. 🌊In the afternoon, depending on your return plan, head to Venice or Milan to return the car. Drive along the winding roads of the Dolomites, where every frame is a moving landscape painting. ⛺ Must-Do Experiences at a Glance · Funes Valley: Solitary Church + Geisler Peaks, postcard perfect · Seceda: Rare landform with half grassy slope and half cliff · Hughes Plateau: Europe’s largest meadow, a wildflower fairy tale · Three Peaks: Dolomites’ symbol, 4-hour hiking loop · Lake Braies: Emerald green lake, boat on the lake center · Lake Carezza: Jiuzhaigou-like, backed by Latemar mountains 🏨 Accommodation Tips · Ortisei: Transport hub, convenient for Seceda and Hughes Plateau · Funes Valley: Stay in Santa Magdalena guesthouse with Geisler Peak views · Cortina d’Ampezzo: Near the Three Peaks, gateway to East Dolomites 🚌 Transportation Tips ✈️ International flights: Arrive in Venice (about 2.5 hours drive) or Milan (about 4.5 hours) 🚗 Strongly recommend renting a car! Attractions are scattered, public transport is inconvenient, and the roads offer the most beautiful scenery. ⚠️ Note: Parking at popular spots like the Three Peaks and Lake Braies must be reserved on official websites in advance. 🚠 Cable cars: Available at main scenic spots, operating until about 5:30 p.m. in summer. 🍽️ Must-Try Foods · Speck ham (South Tyrolean specialty) · Alpine cheese · Apple strudel · Local pasta · Simple meals at mountain huts 💡 Warm Tips · Best seasons: June to September (hiking season, stable weather), December to March (ski season) · Gear: Layered clothing, big temperature differences between mountain and valley, bring windproof jackets and hiking shoes · Parking: Popular spots fill up after 8 a.m., start early · Cable cars: May not operate from November to May, check schedules before traveling · Language: Italian and German are commonly spoken here; it’s a German-speaking area · Offline maps: Mountain signals are unstable, download maps in advance · Cash: Mountain huts may only accept cash 🌟In the Dolomites, you’ll see the Alps’ most unique side—not gentle snowy meadows, but gray-white peaks piercing the sky like blades. These formations were once coral reefs under the sea millions of years ago, shaped by tectonic movements and glacial erosion into what they are today.

#FallAdventures Lago di Tovel feels like a secret kept by the forest. In autumn, its turquoise water darkens to deep emerald as the trees on its shores turn crimson and gold. The reflections are so clear that you can barely tell where the forest ends and the lake begins. The air is cool, scented with pine and cold stone, and every sound seems distant, softened by the water. Walking along the wooden path, I stopped often — not to take pictures, but to remember the stillness. This is one of those places where nature doesn’t ask for attention; it simply holds it.

#FallAdventures Autumn in Trento transforms every trail into a living painting. I chose the Sentiero dei Castagni this time, a route famous for its chestnut trees and view of the old city walls. The ground was covered in amber leaves, and the sound of my steps blended with the rustle of the wind through dry branches. Halfway up, I stopped to taste roasted chestnuts sold by a local farmer — the kind of small moment that defines Italian mountain culture. The view from the top showed Trento bathed in soft gold. It reminded me that the best adventures often begin with silence.

Campitello di Fassa, located in the Val di Fassa valley in Italy, is a breathtakingly beautiful and enchanting village in the style of a mountain village. It seamlessly blends wooden balconies with classic Italian peninsula architecture. This exceptionally well-preserved village celebrates the splendor of an ancient resort and the timeless beauty of its limestone peaks. Sacred sites and fascinating ancient carved wooden architecture add to the charm. The atmosphere is incredibly serene and uplifting. Clear streams and cobblestone squares are perfectly arranged amidst the embrace of lush pine forests and rolling hills, offering a refreshing breeze that is incredibly relaxing and invigorating. · A Masterpiece The highlight of this trip, popular for its scenic walking routes and glimpses into high-altitude mountain life, is the scenic walking path along the waterfront, lined with chalet-style accommodations. And the natural stone block walkways curve around the hills and important landmarks as follows: · Avisio River and Flower Promenades: A magical view of the clear stream flowing through the heart of the village, with a highlight being the hedges adorned with blooming pink and red geraniums, leading the eye to the pastel-colored buildings and the backdrop of towering limestone mountains. · Campitello Town Centre: A group of original guesthouses and hotels, distinguished by their Alpine-style carved wooden balconies. Classic landmarks such as the white building adorned with a sundial and ancient paintings are beautifully interspersed with local cafes and taverns (Pub Evita / Bar Tirol). · Piazza & Alpine Chalets: A central pedestrian junction paved with ancient stone blocks, surrounded by pristine wooden and white stucco chalets. Flanked by the main road leading to the bridge over the river and the cable car station. · Historical Ladin Barn / Fassa Architecture: Old vernacular architecture with ancient lattice structures stands majestically, defying time, along the steep slope, reflecting the traditional way of life of the Ladin people in this valley with a solemn and amazing charm. · Sassolungo Mountain View: A viewpoint for taking panoramic photos against the backdrop of the sky. A leisurely stroll along the river, with the powerful, jagged limestone peaks of the Sassolungo Mountains as a backdrop, contrasts beautifully with the lush green pine forests and clear blue sky. · Getting There You can take a local bus from Trento or Bolzano train station towards the Val di Fassa valley, or opt for a road trip along the Great Dolomites Road for the most convenient and independent access to these natural areas and villages. (The best time for hiking with clear, cool weather is June to September, and the winter season for skiing is December to April. You can also sample the rich "Puzzone di Moena cheese" and "Northern Italian mountain-style pasta" at traditional restaurants for an authentic culinary experience year-round.) · Opening Hours and Entrance Fee The old town area, the riverside walkways, and the viewpoints overlooking the surrounding mountains are open for free 24 hours a day for relaxation, photography, and enjoying the fresh air. For clothing, we suggest lightweight windproof clothing or clean, minimalist outfits in light colors or jeans. I'd rate "Lago di Molveno" (Village and Lake Molveno), a terrestrial geological park, as the most breathtaking and historically significant spot for nature lovers in the Brenta Dolomites mountains of the Trentino-Alto Adige region. This ancient natural phenomenon is dedicated to the "miracle of rock sculptures, mountain peaks carved by wind and waves, and the pristine, lush forest." The sacred sites and Alpine-style houses, reminiscent of legendary valley settlements, create a wonderfully serene and uplifting atmosphere. The layout of the religious sites and village is perfectly crafted amidst the embrace of lush green forests, offering refreshing cool breezes that are incredibly relaxing and invigorating. · A Masterpiece The highlight of this trip, popular for its hiking and relaxation routes, is... "A natural stone block pathway encircling a grassy beach and mountain stream" stretches out and features the following key landmarks: · Molveno Lakefront: A highlight offering stunning views of the clear turquoise lake reflecting the majestic limestone peaks, surrounded by a marina for rowboats and pedal boats, open for free viewing. · Mountain Stream: A clear stream cascading down in small waterfalls through the heart of the grassland, a natural waterway reflecting the purity of the forest, perfectly preserved and breathtakingly beautiful. · Water Activities (Kayaking): A kayaking and boating area in the middle of the water, surrounded by the stream, mountain architecture, and dense forest, adding a unique and beautiful dimension for photography. · Lakeside Park: A viewpoint and spacious grassy area for sunbathing. Surrounded by hedges and vibrant pink flowerbeds, the view from this secluded area contrasts beautifully with the Alps. Getting There: Take the train to Mezzocorona or Trento station, then embark on the local Trentino Trasporti bus route uphill into the valley. Alternatively, you can rent a car and use a navigation system to navigate along the mountain roads. In just a few minutes, you'll reach the viewpoint overlooking the rocky village and beach. The expansive waterfront area is free to enter. The stunning scenery and clear skies are sure to impress. (The highlight is the pleasant, cool weather, and the opportunity to sample the authentic local Alpine milk and traditional charcoal-fired gelato available nearby – a truly delightful experience – is available year-round.) Opening Hours and Entrance Fee: This picturesque beach and rocky village are open 24 hours a day for strolling, taking photos, and relaxing by the lake. Admission is free, with no entrance fee (except for boat rentals or water sports tickets). Dress Code: We recommend wearing comfortable sneakers or walking shoes suitable for strolling along grassy beaches, as the landscape consists of flat grassy areas interspersed with natural pebble and rock formations along the water's edge. For clothing, we suggest a comfortable windbreaker or minimalist, light-colored outfits such as white, cream, or denim. These colors will enhance your appearance and create a stunning, elegant look when photographed against the backdrop of the misty archways, clear water, and ancient wooden structures. #molveno #lagodimolveno #dolomites #trentino #italy #travelitaly #dolomites #bluelake #secretvillage #beautifulphotospot #italyreview #natureview

Autumn in Trentino feels wonderfully different from the busy Italian cities. Here, the roads wind through mountain villages, forests turn shades of gold and orange, and alpine lakes reflect the dramatic peaks. What I loved most was how many beautiful places I could discover on a single scenic drive. I’d start at Lake Molveno, where the turquoise water looks striking against the surrounding Brenta Dolomites. On a calm morning, the reflections are especially beautiful. Next, Lake Tovel is worth the detour, with forested hills and peaceful walking paths that make it easy to linger longer than planned. For another memorable stop, Lake Carezza offers incredible views of the Latemar mountains. Its clear water and colorful woodland create a picture perfect autumn setting. I’d also explore Val di Fassa, where traditional villages sit beneath rugged peaks, and drive through Val di Non to see apple orchards and rolling hills dressed in seasonal colors. If time allows, Lake Levico is lovely for a relaxed lakeside stroll, while Trento’s historic center makes a great place to finish the day with an espresso and a wander through its old streets. My tip? Visit in October, but check local conditions before heading into the mountains. Some trails and facilities operate seasonally. Bring layers, take the scenic roads slowly, and leave room for spontaneous stops Trentino rewards curious travelers. #fallcolors #trentino #italy

Honestly, many people only come to Italy for Venice and Milan, treating Verona as just a stopover. I originally came with a casual mindset, but ended up not wanting to leave! It’s not just about the Juliet balcony everyone knows! The incredibly well-preserved Roman Arena still hosts operas to this day; standing inside, you can truly feel the texture of over 2,000 years of history. Walking into the old town, with its winding cobblestone streets, vine-covered old houses, and stone bridges along the Adige River, you’ll find surprises just by turning into any alley. There’s no need to rush around checking off sights. Just stroll slowly through Piazza delle Erbe, grab a gelato to eat on the go, or find a spot by the river to sit and zone out, watching the sunlight hit the orange-red rooftops. This kind of relaxed vibe is truly rare. 💡 A few reliable tips 📝 ✅ You can plan a day trip; it’s about a 1-hour train ride from Venice, and the transport is very convenient ✅ Most popular museums are closed on Mondays, so remember to check the times before you go to avoid a wasted trip ✅ Don’t just fixate on queuing for the popular Juliet’s House; the scenery in the old town and along the riverbank is actually more photogenic It’s not the kind of place that blows you away at first glance, but the more you walk, the more you’ll appreciate it. If you’re willing to stay an extra half-day, you’ll find many unexpected, gentle moments in your travels 🌤

If you're planning a trip to the Dolomites, Sass Pordoi is definitely one cable car experience I wouldn't want you to miss! Known as the "Terrace of the Dolomites," Sass Pordoi sits at an incredible altitude of 2,950 meters above sea level, offering some of the most breathtaking 360-degree mountain views in the entire region. Getting here is actually very convenient. You can drive up to Passo Pordoi, park your car near the cable car station, buy your ticket, and take the cable car straight to the top. The ride only takes about four minutes, but what an unforgettable four minutes they were! Unlike the smaller gondolas you might find at other mountain destinations, this is a large cable car that carries several passengers together. As we started ascending the steep mountainside, I suddenly realized just how high we were going. Honestly, I never thought I was particularly afraid of heights until I stepped inside this cable car! 😂 The views during the ride were absolutely spectacular, but looking down at the dramatic cliffs beneath us definitely made my heart race a little. And then we reached the top! The scenery was completely different from what I had expected. The summit felt like an enormous rocky plateau, almost like walking on the surface of another planet. Mountains stretched endlessly in every direction, making me feel incredibly small compared to the surrounding landscape. What made our visit even more special was the weather. It was actually a beautiful sunny day, but there were clouds moving across the mountain peaks. When we reached the summit, we found ourselves right among the clouds, with some of them floating just above our heads! The most amazing part was how quickly the clouds were moving. You could literally watch them drifting across the mountains and passing right in front of you. If you look at my video, you'll see exactly what I mean. It was such a surreal experience, almost as if we were standing at the edge of the sky, watching the clouds dance around us. Even though the clouds occasionally blocked the distant mountain views, I honestly didn't mind. Being surrounded by moving clouds at nearly 3,000 meters above sea level was an incredible experience in itself. Another thing that surprised me was just how enormous the summit area was. Before visiting, I assumed we would simply take the cable car up, enjoy the viewpoint, take some photos, and head back down. I was completely wrong! There is a vast rocky landscape at the top, with walking paths and hiking routes leading much farther into the mountains. You can enjoy the easier panoramic walks near the cable car station or explore longer trails if you have enough time and hiking experience. Unfortunately, we only had around two hours here, so we couldn't venture very far. Looking back, this is definitely one place where I wish I had allowed more time. There's also a mountain restaurant called Rifugio Maria right at the top, where you can enjoy a meal or take a break while admiring the incredible scenery. Imagine having lunch surrounded by some of the most spectacular peaks in the Dolomites! My biggest recommendation is to check the weather before visiting and allow yourself plenty of time. The experience can change dramatically depending on cloud conditions, and even a short walk around the summit can reveal completely different views. For me, Sass Pordoi was so much more than just another cable car ride. It was the thrilling ascent, the feeling of standing almost 3,000 meters above sea level, the vast rocky landscape, and the unforgettable sight of clouds moving right past us. If you're visiting the Dolomites, don't miss Sass Pordoi. It's one of those experiences that makes you realize just how magnificent nature really is. Definitely worth the hype, and absolutely one of the highlights of my Dolomites trip! 💙🏔️ #italy #dolomites #sasspordoi

Nestled deep within the breathtaking Dolomite Mountains, Vigo di Fassa has recently emerged as a top destination for European mountain getaways. The Olympic Spa Hotel stands out like a hidden gem amidst these lush peaks and meadows. My stay here was absolute bliss—whether you're a nature lover, a foodie, or a spa enthusiast, this place has everything you need for the perfect one-stop getaway. For dinner, they offer a formal seven-course meal catering to vegetarians, meat lovers, and seafood fans alike. The flavors are bold yet perfectly balanced. The restaurant itself has a very cozy atmosphere, and the attentive service makes every meal special. 🌲 Local Experiences Right outside the hotel, you’ll find numerous hiking trails. I highly recommend heading out early along the meadow and wetland paths toward the mountains. In less than half an hour, you'll reach a prime viewpoint with endless vistas of the magnificent valley—your Instagram feed won’t know what hit it! Plus, the hotel is just a short trip from the center of Vigo di Fassa, where you can browse local boutiques or sit at a mountain café to soak in the authentic lifestyle. 📝 Pro-Tips (Based on My Experience) 1. Joining the hotel activities is a must! Whether it’s yoga, cooking classes, or guided tours, the staff are incredibly welcoming and speak good English, so there’s no need to worry about language barriers. 2. Temperatures in the mountains can drop significantly at night, so bring a warm jacket. Even in summer, it gets chilly after dark, and you’ll want the right gear for hiking. 3. If you love photography, bring a high-capacity memory card. The scenery around the hotel is so stunning that you'll run out of space before you know it. 4. If you're driving, the hotel offers free parking and charging stations, so parking is hassle-free. 🚗 Getting There Olympic Spa Hotel Address: S.da de Ciarlonch, 5. Driving is the easiest way to get here. The hotel is located near the main road, but the rooms have excellent soundproofing, so you can enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. If you're using public transport, take a regional bus from Bolzano to Vigo di Fassa, followed by a 10-15 minute walk. In short, the Olympic Spa Hotel in Vigo di Fassa is the perfect blend of local cuisine, nature, and total relaxation. With its exceptionally warm service, it’s a place I highly recommend!

The morning in Verona was a bit chilly. Standing beneath the stone walls outside the Arena, you can hear the echoes of conversations from the square. 🏟️ Trains from both Venice and Milan arrive in Verona, with the station located right on the edge of the old town. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the station to the city gates. The area is small and easy to explore on foot. Follow the main street, and the entire circular Arena will appear before you. It is better preserved than many other Roman ruins, with layers of stone and rows of arches; looking up, you can still sense its original scale. Nearby, a few sections of old walls are exposed above ground, and if you walk around them, you'll reach the square. 🏛️ In front of the Arena is a spacious square surrounded by shops with outdoor seating. The October sun is gentle, making it comfortable to sit for a while. You need to buy a ticket to see the interior structure, and the lines can be long, so going early can save you some time. The stone steps inside are steep and wind upward in circles; when you climb to the top and look down, the whole city lies at your feet. During performances, the stands are packed with people, but on regular days, they are empty, allowing you to climb at your own pace. Turn off the square, and the alleys suddenly narrow. With cobblestone streets, the old houses on both sides are painted in warm colors, with balconies jutting out, laundry hanging, and flowers on the windowsills. As you walk, you'll reach Piazza delle Erbe. During the day, there's a market with stalls selling fruit, olives, and spices, where locals also do their shopping. The square is lined with old buildings, and at noon, the second-floor terraces with awnings are packed with people. 🧺 Juliet's House is tucked away in a small alley nearby. The walls of the alley are covered in dense graffiti, and there's a line at the courtyard entrance. In the center of the courtyard stands a bronze statue, and the second-floor balcony juts out, with many people holding up their phones, waiting for a clear shot. The courtyard is small, and you can walk through it quickly, though the line for photos is longer than the courtyard itself. Inside, there are a few rooms you can visit, furnished with old furniture and costumes used in the play. 🌸 There are several red-brick churches in the old town, with their facades and bell towers being the main highlights. Remember to remove your hat before entering; the interior is dim, and it takes a moment for your eyes to adjust. In the small squares in front of the churches, you'll always find people resting on the steps while pigeons circle around. There is also a tall tower in the city that you can climb to the top of, offering an even wider view than the churches. Further out is the Adige River, with its greenish water crossed by several old bridges. When you stand on the bridge during the soft evening light, the rooftops on both banks turn a sea of red. There is a path along the river with benches every so often. In October, the trees begin to turn yellow, and leaves fall into the water, drifting away. On the hillside across the river, there is a viewing platform where churches and old houses are packed together; if you walk up slowly from the bridge, you can take in the entire old town at once. 🍂 On the dining tables in Verona, pasta and risotto are common. A simple plate of tomato pasta or a serving of pumpkin risotto is hot and filling. There is also polenta, which is served with stew—a comforting meal when the weather gets cold. Gelato shops offer a long row of flavors; you can stand at the entrance to take your time choosing, then eat as you walk. 🍦 In the evening at Piazza Bra, the area around the fountain is packed with people, string lights are hung outside the old city walls, and children zip around on skateboards. Nearby cafes set their chairs outside, where you can sit and watch the crowds go by. That is the rhythm of the old town: slow and unhurried. There is a range of accommodation options in the city. Places right next to the square are more expensive, but if you move a few streets away, you can get the same room for much less, and it's only a 10-minute walk into the city. Before booking, ask about hot water and internet access. Old buildings generally have average soundproofing, so rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy at night. October days are warm, but mornings and evenings are cool, so a jacket you can easily put on or take off is enough. The old town has many alleys; if you lose your way, just follow the one with more people, and you'll eventually wind your way back to the square. Remember to remove your hat when entering churches and speak softly. Some murals in courtyards do not allow flash photography, so check the signs at the entrance before you raise your camera. At dusk, I circled back to the Arena. The arches on the outer wall were outlined by lights, the square was still full of people, and some were chatting while holding gelato. I had walked quite a bit today; my feet were sore, but my mind felt clear.

Summer is the time to capture beautiful moments with one click! 📸 I visited Verona, Italy, this time. This romantic little city, known as the "City of Love," makes every photo look like a scene from a movie. ✨ Verona is nestled against the Alps to the north, with the Adige River—originating from the Alpine system—flowing through the old town. 🌸 Recommended One-Day Route ① Piazza Bra → ② Verona Arena → ③ Via Mazzini → ④ Juliet's House → ⑤ Piazza delle Erbe → ⑥ Piazza dei Signori → ⑦ Scaliger Tombs → ⑧ Ponte Pietra → ⑨ Castel San Pietro Basically the entire route is walkable. 🏛️ ① Verona Arena (Arena di Verona) Verona's premier landmark. It is smaller than the Colosseum in Rome but remarkably well-preserved, and it still hosts operas and performances to this day. Built in the 1st century, it is one of Verona's most essential architectural sites to visit. 💕 ② Juliet's House (Casa di Giulietta) The significance here lies more in "literature and urban legend" rather than the historical site itself. The balcony in the courtyard is a classic, but please note that the entrance has moved to Teatro Nuovo. Starting from 2026, advanced online booking will be required; separate tickets are available for the courtyard and the house interior. 🍊 ③ Piazza delle Erbe In my opinion, this is Verona's most atmospheric square. Originally the city center during Roman times, it is now surrounded by: · Renaissance architecture · Frescoed buildings · Charming cafes · Market stalls · Torre dei Lamberti (Lamberti Tower) Official tourism guides also list this as one of the city's core attractions. 🏰 ④ Piazza dei Signori + Scaliger Tombs A short walk through Piazza delle Erbe leads to Piazza dei Signori. This square is much quieter than Piazza delle Erbe, featuring a statue of Dante at its center. The adjacent Arche Scaligere (Scaliger Tombs) are stunning and stand as some of Verona's most distinctive medieval structures. 🎨 ⑤ Castelvecchio + Old Bridge Castelvecchio was the 14th-century fortress of the Scaliger family. It was restored after WWII by the renowned architect Carlo Scarpa and now serves as a major art museum, housing collections of paintings, sculptures, and weaponry. Furthermore, the adjacent Ponte Scaligero (Scaliger Bridge) is exceptionally beautiful. 🌉 ⑥ Ponte Pietra + Castel San Pietro Stroll along the Adige River in the afternoon or evening. Ponte Pietra (Stone Bridge) → Riverside → Castel San Pietro (St. Peter's Hill). This is my top recommended stretch in Verona. Local officials highly recommend watching the sunset over Verona from Castel San Pietro, which can be reached either by a walk uphill or via the funicular.
