Ifugao travel guide and discussion

As my husband call this adventure “the buwis buhay” travel. But we made it and there is so much beautiful surprises when you get here #mynovgetaway#thanksgiving

If you only have time for one rice terrace in Banaue, it absolutely has to be Batad! The road ends here. We hired a local guide to lead the way, parked our car, and headed out on foot along a mountain trail. It’s a 30-minute trek that isn't exactly a walk in the park, winding through dense, shaded paths. But the moment you cross the ridge and emerge from the forest—the sheer scale of what’s in front of you makes every drop of sweat worth it. The entire Batad Rice Terraces look like a massive "Roman Colosseum" rising right out of the mountains! Layer upon layer of stone-walled terraces fan out in a semi-circle along the steep cliffs, cradling the ancient village at the very center. Looking down from above, you see a truly magnificent engineering miracle born from the harmony of humanity and nature. Walking into the village, you can still see local girls skillfully pounding rice with wooden poles by a mortar—a glimpse into a way of life that remains beautifully untouched. After signing in at the Tourist Center and catching our breath, we’re ready to head even deeper into the terraces! 📸 Batad Hiking Journal: Pic 2|Small terraces near the parking area 🌾 The valley scenery begins to reveal itself as soon as you step out of the car. Nature🌳🌴

#itinerarycheck The Batad amphitheatre is not a viewpoint you drive to — it is a bowl of 2,000-year-old Ifugao terraces that you walk into from the ridge above, hearing nothing but irrigation water and roosters. My loop started at the Batad Saddle jump-off (reachable by jeepney from Banaue town to Batad junction, PHP 50, then 20-minute uphill walk to the saddle). No card payments in the village; bring PHP 500 small bills for guides, entrance (PHP 50 environmental fee collected at the saddle hut), and snacks. From the saddle the trail drops 300 m into the village core, then circles the amphitheatre clockwise. The terrace paths are slick after rain — I wore trail runners and slipped twice; locals wear rubber sandals with grip. At the far side, a signed fork drops to Tappiya Fall: 500 steps down to a 20 m plunge pool fed by mountain spring. Swimming is allowed but cold (18°C). Return is the same stairs — many tourists underestimate the calf burn and turn back halfway. I hired a local guide (PHP 500 half-day) not because it’s mandatory, but because the fork to Tappiya is unmarked and the village asks that outsiders respect private terrace edges. The guide also translated the rule: do not step on the central rice ridges between paddies — it damages the mud aqueduct system. Mistakes I saw: a couple in white sneakers turned back at stair 200; a drone pilot fined PHP 1,000 for flying over the ceremonial mound (no drones without barangay permit). Best time: 07:00 start to catch mist lifting off the terraces and reach Tappiya before noon crowds from the homestays. Opinion: the PHP 50 fee is trivial, but the real cost is physical — this is a 4-hour loop with 600 m cumulative descent/ascent. Worth it? Absolutely, but treat it as a hike, not a photo stop. Would you pay a guide when signs are sparse but villagers are friendly — or walk blind and risk a wrong turn into someone’s backyard paddy?

Three days in the mountains, surrounded by ancient rice terraces, tiny villages and some of the most incredible landscapes in the Philippines. 🇵🇭🥾⛰️ If you want to experience a side of the Philippines that feels completely different from the beaches of Palawan, Cebu or Boracay, put Batad on your list. Hidden in the mountains of Ifugao, Batad is home to enormous rice terraces carved into the landscape, traditional villages, steep trails and viewpoints that make you stop every few minutes just to take it all in. And the best part? You don’t really experience Batad from a tour bus. You experience it on foot. Here’s how to plan a Batad trekking adventure and what you should know before going. 📍 BATAD, BANAUE, IFUGAO Batad is a small mountain village in Ifugao Province in the northern Philippines, near Banaue. The region is famous for its rice terraces, which were shaped into the mountains by generations of Ifugao communities. The landscape isn’t just beautiful. It represents a living agricultural and cultural heritage that has developed over centuries. From above, the terraces almost look like giant green staircases carved into the mountains. From inside the valley, they’re even more impressive. You suddenly realize how much work went into creating every level. ⸻ 🥾 WHY TREK IN BATAD? There are plenty of places in the Philippines where you can arrive, take a few photos and leave. Batad isn’t really like that. The terrain is mountainous. The roads don’t take you everywhere. Some viewpoints require walking. And if you want to understand the landscape, you need to get into it. The trek takes you through narrow paths, rice terraces, forested sections and small communities. You might pass farmers working in the fields. You might see water flowing through the irrigation systems. You might walk through a village where everything feels incredibly quiet. And then suddenly the trail opens to a huge view of the valley. That’s the magic of Batad. The landscape keeps revealing itself slowly. ⸻ 🌾 THE RICE TERRACES The rice terraces are obviously the main attraction. But don’t think of them as one giant viewpoint. The landscape changes constantly depending on where you’re standing. From above, the terraces create enormous patterns across the mountains. From below, the walls tower above you. From a narrow trail, you can see layers of terraces disappearing into the distance. And from a village viewpoint, the entire valley can look almost unreal. The terraces are also agricultural landscapes, not simply tourist attractions. Farmers continue to work in them, so visitors should be respectful when walking around. Stay on appropriate paths and avoid stepping into cultivated areas unless you’ve been invited or it’s clearly permitted. ⸻ 🥾 WHAT IS THE TREK LIKE? Batad isn’t necessarily an extreme trek, but you should be prepared for steep and uneven terrain. There are sections involving stairs, narrow paths and significant elevation changes. Wet weather can make the trails slippery. Some parts are exposed. Others pass through vegetation or forest. This isn’t the kind of hike where you want to arrive wearing brand new fashion sneakers. Bring shoes with proper grip. And expect your legs to work. The reward is that you don’t need to hike continuously for hours without seeing anything. The scenery changes constantly, giving you plenty of reasons to stop. ⸻ 🌄 TAPPİYA FALLS One of the popular trekking destinations around Batad is Tappiya Falls. The route takes you deeper into the landscape and adds another dimension to the experience. Instead of spending the entire day looking at rice terraces, you get a combination of mountain trails, village scenery, terraces and a waterfall. The route can be physically demanding because of the terrain. There are descents and climbs, and remember that every steep downhill section eventually becomes an uphill section on the way back. Classic hiking mathematics. Going down feels great. Then you remember you have to come back up. But reaching the waterfall provides a great break from the higher viewpoints. Depending on conditions, you can relax around the area and enjoy the surroundings before heading back. ⸻ 🏡 STAYING IN BATAD One of the best ways to experience the region is to stay overnight rather than treating Batad as a quick stop from Banaue. The village is surrounded by mountains, and staying there gives you access to quieter moments that day visitors may miss. Early morning is particularly special. The light changes across the terraces. Mist can settle between the mountains. And the village slowly comes alive. In the evening, the landscape becomes quiet again. There isn’t a huge nightlife scene. That’s part of the appeal. Batad is about nature, walking, conversations, simple accommodation and disconnecting from the usual tourist routine. ⸻ 🌅 SUNRISE IN BATAD Set your alarm. Seriously. Sunrise is one of the best times to see the terraces. Early morning light creates soft shadows across the mountains and makes the layers of the rice fields much easier to see. Clouds and mist can also add atmosphere. You don’t need a complicated photography setup. A wide phone camera can capture the scale of the valley surprisingly well. But don’t just shoot the landscape. Look for small details. A person walking along a terrace. A farmer working in a field. Morning light touching a traditional house. Mist moving between the mountains. Those details make your photos feel like a story rather than another landscape postcard. ⸻ 📸 PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS Batad is almost impossible to photograph badly. But you can make your photos much more interesting with a few simple ideas. Use scale. Put a person near the edge of a huge landscape. Look for layers. Rice terraces naturally create lines and patterns. Shoot vertically. This works especially well when photographing the mountains rising above you. Use foreground elements. Leaves, paths, walls and terraces can create depth. Don’t always use the widest lens. Zoom in on the repeating patterns of the terraces. And most importantly: Don’t spend the entire trek looking at your phone. Some landscapes are better experienced than documented. ⸻ 🌧️ WEATHER CHANGES EVERYTHING Mountain weather can be unpredictable. One moment you can have clear views. A few hours later, clouds can completely cover the mountains. Rain can make trails slippery and change the difficulty of the trek. This is why you should avoid building your entire trip around one perfectly timed photograph. If the weather is cloudy, embrace it. Batad surrounded by mist can look incredibly atmospheric. If it rains, slow down and be careful. Good hiking conditions matter more than getting the perfect Instagram shot. ⸻ 🌱 THE TERRACES CHANGE WITH THE SEASONS One of the interesting things about visiting Batad is that the landscape doesn’t always look the same. Depending on the agricultural cycle, the terraces can appear bright green, golden, flooded or freshly harvested. So there isn’t necessarily one universal “best” month. If your priority is lush green terraces, research the local agricultural calendar before planning your trip. If you want golden tones, another period may be better. And if you’re simply interested in the landscape and culture, almost any season can offer something different. ⸻ 🥾 WHY A LOCAL GUIDE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE This is one place where having someone who understands the area can add real value. The trails around Batad aren’t just lines on a map. A local guide can help with navigation, trail conditions and understanding the landscape. More importantly, they can give context. Why the terraces were built. How farming works. What different parts of the village are used for. How the local communities live. What areas visitors should avoid. That turns a hike into a much more meaningful experience. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, especially for a multi-day trek, consider arranging a reputable local guide rather than attempting unfamiliar trails alone. ⸻ 🎒 WHAT TO PACK Don’t overpack. You’ll be carrying everything along mountain trails. Bring: · Hiking shoes with good grip · Lightweight clothes · Rain jacket · Small backpack · Reusable water bottle · Sunscreen · Insect repellent · Portable charger · Basic first aid supplies · Small towel · Dry bag or waterproof pouch · Extra socks · Light layers A waterproof bag for electronics is especially useful during rainy weather. And bring cash. Remote mountain communities may have limited access to card payments and ATMs. ⸻ 🍚 FOOD IN BATAD Food is part of the experience too. Don’t expect a huge selection of international restaurants. Instead, meals tend to be simple, local and practical. Rice naturally plays a major role. You’ll find Filipino dishes, vegetables, meat and other home-style meals depending on where you stay. After a long trek, a hot meal with a mountain view can feel better than any fancy restaurant. This is one of those trips where the environment becomes part of the meal. ⸻ 🚌 GETTING TO BANAUE Most travelers use Banaue as the gateway to the region. Banaue is accessible from Manila by long-distance bus, although the journey is lengthy. Once in Banaue, you’ll need to arrange transportation toward Batad. The final approach is very different from arriving at a typical tourist destination. The roads become narrower and the landscape becomes increasingly mountainous. That’s part of the adventure. Don’t expect the same transport infrastructure you’d find in Manila or Cebu. This is a remote mountain region. Plan your connections in advance and allow extra time. ⸻ 🗺️ HOW MANY DAYS? If you’re short on time, you can visit Batad as part of a shorter Banaue trip. But if you have the opportunity, 2 to 3 days gives you a much better experience. A relaxed example: DAY 1 Manila → Banaue ↓ Travel to Batad ↓ Check in ↓ Explore the village ↓ Sunset viewpoint ↓ Dinner DAY 2 Sunrise ↓ Rice terrace trek ↓ Tappiya Falls ↓ Lunch ↓ Return to village ↓ Relaxed evening DAY 3 Morning exploration ↓ Photography ↓ Return toward Banaue ↓ Continue your Philippines itinerary The exact route and timing depend on trail conditions, weather and your guide. ⸻ 🌄 BATAD VS BANAUE People often use the names interchangeably, but they’re not exactly the same experience. Banaue is the larger town and transport hub. It has more accommodation, restaurants and services. Batad is the smaller mountain community known for its dramatic amphitheater-like rice terraces and trekking routes. Think of Banaue as the base. Batad as the adventure. If your main goal is to see the most dramatic terrace landscapes and hike, make sure Batad is actually part of your plan. ⸻ 🇵🇭 WHY BATAD FEELS DIFFERENT The Philippines is famous for beaches. Palawan. Cebu. Bohol. Boracay. And for good reason. But northern Luzon shows another side of the country. Instead of turquoise water and palm trees, you get mountains, terraces, forests and villages. Instead of island hopping, you’re hiking. Instead of spending the afternoon at the beach, you’re following a narrow trail between rice fields. It’s a completely different Philippines. And that’s exactly why it’s worth the journey. ⸻ 🌿 TRAVEL RESPONSIBLY Batad isn’t an amusement park. It’s someone’s home. The terraces are working agricultural landscapes. The villages are communities. The trails are part of everyday life. So travel gently. Don’t litter. Don’t damage terrace walls. Don’t enter private areas without permission. 📌 Save this for your Philippines itinerary 🇵🇭 Add Batad if you want a different side of the country 📤 Send this to your hiking partner 💬 Would you choose Batad for the rice terraces or the trekking experience? #Batad #Banaue #PhilippinesTravel #Philippines #BatadRiceTerraces #RiceTerraces #Ifugao #NorthernLuzon #LuzonTravel #PhilippinesItinerary #HikingPhilippines #TrekkingPhilippines #ExplorePhilippines #TravelPhilippines #SoutheastAsiaTravel

📅 Itinerary Day1: Went to Banaue Viewpoint, Explored the town Day2: Hired a tricycle to go to Batad Village. Travel to Batad took around 1hr. Then the hike to the village itself is more than 30mins. 🏨 Accommodation: Banaue Homestay (~5mins away from the bus drop-off 🍴 Food Recommendations : Rather than food, I’d say they’re more known for their coffee 📌 Tips: There will be lots of hiking involved so wear your most comfortable shoes. The current price for hiring a tricycle is around 800Php (one way) so if you’re traveling alone it’s better if you can find someone that’s also heading there to split the amount.

Humanity's Living Cultural Heritage Imagine: over 2,000 years ago, the Ifugao people of the mountains of northern Luzon began carving steps into the steep mountain slopes, creating a complex system of irrigated rice terraces. Without modern technology, using only primitive tools and incredible skill, they built what is today called the "eighth wonder of the world." The Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras are more than just beautiful landscapes. They are a living cultural landscape system where rice is still grown using traditional methods. In 1995, UNESCO inscribed five clusters of these terraces on the World Heritage List, calling them "a living cultural landscape of incomparable beauty." If all the terraces were lined up, they would encircle half the globe! They are a monumental achievement of human labor and harmony with nature. Which terraces to visit In the province of Ifugao, there are several clusters of rice terraces, each with its own atmosphere: 1. Batad Rice Terraces – the most impressive! A must-see! The Batad Rice Terraces are considered the most picturesque and photogenic. They are arranged in an amphitheater-like structure, shaped like a giant bowl, surrounded by mountains. Emerald-green steps descend, creating an incredible, breathtaking view. Features: · The steepest and most dramatic terraces · Located in a remote village with no roads – access is by foot or motorbike · Tappiyah Falls is located in the center of the terraces (a 1.5-hour walk) · Awa View Deck with panoramic views · You can stay in traditional homestays right in the village Difficulty: Medium-High. You'll have to climb up and down steep trails. 2. Banaue (Banaue Rice Terraces) The most famous and accessible terraces. Banaue is a small town that serves as a base for visiting all the other terraces. The Banaue terraces themselves are located just outside the city, visible from a viewpoint accessible by tricycle in 5 minutes. Features: · Most accessible – no need to walk far · Viewpoint with souvenir shops and cafes · Less impressive than Batad, but still beautiful · Good for those short on time or with limited physical fitness Difficulty: Easy. You can just show up, see, and leave. 3. Hapao (Hapao Rice Terraces) These terraces are flatter and wider than Batad. They appear more spread out and peaceful. There are fewer tourists here, and you can stroll peacefully through the rice fields. Features: · Less steep, easier trekking · Hot springs nearby – perfect for a post-hike dip! · More relaxed atmosphere Difficulty: Moderate 4. Hungduan Rice Terraces Less well-known, but no less beautiful, terraces. These are popular with those looking to get off the beaten track. 5. Mayoyao and Nagacadan Even more remote and authentic. For experienced travelers. Tip: If time is limited, be sure to visit Batad. If you have 2-3 days, add Hapao and the Banaue viewpoint. How to get to Banaue from Manila Step 1: Overnight bus from Manila Ohayami Trans operates overnight buses from Manila to Banaue. This is the only direct public transportation. Manila Bus Terminal: Ohayami Trans Terminal, Otek Street, Sampaloc, Manila (near UST University). Taxi Address: Ohayami Trans, Otek Street, Sampaloc, Manila Schedule: · Departure from Manila: 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM daily · Departure from Banaue to Manila: 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM daily Fare: 650–950 pesos (850–1250 rubles) depending on the bus type (regular or deluxe with reclining seats). Travel time: 9–11 hours (depending on road conditions and stops). Tip: Take the deluxe bus if possible—the seats recline almost flat, allowing for a good night's sleep. The road is winding, so bring motion sickness pills if you feel motion sick. What to bring on the bus: · A warm sweater or blanket (the bus has cold air conditioning) · Earplugs and a sleep mask · Water and snacks · Motion sickness pills Step 2: Arrive in Banaue The bus arrives in Banaue early in the morning (around 6:00–7:00 AM). You'll be met immediately by tricycle and jeepney drivers offering transfers to hotels or the terraces. Where to stay In Banaue Banaue is a small town with everything you need: hotels, restaurants, shops, and ATMs. It's a convenient base for exploring all the terraces. I recommend the 7th Heaven Lodge and Cafe. They also have delicious food. Amenities: Basic. Toilets and showers are usually shared (sometimes with cold water). Electricity isn't always reliable. But that's part of the experience! How to get to Batad from Banaue Banaue is about 16 km from Batad village, but there is no road to the village itself. Option 1: Jeepney + Hiking (most popular) 1. In Banaue, take a jeepney or tricycle to Saddle Point, the end of the road. Travel time: 45 minutes to 1 hour along the winding road. Cost: · Jeepney (public): 50-100 pesos per person (if you have a group) · Tricycle (private): 600-800 pesos per vehicle (up to 3 people) 2. From Saddle Point, hike down to Batad village. Travel time: 30-45 minutes down a steep trail. Important: The return journey will be uphill—it's tough! Allow 1-1.5 hours for the climb. Option 2: Motorbike (for experienced riders) You can rent a motorbike in Banaue (300-500 pesos/day) and drive to Saddle Point yourself. The road is steep and challenging, so only experienced riders can handle it! Best time to visit The color of the terraces varies depending on the season: Emerald green terraces (most photogenic): · April–May: after rice planting, everything is bright green · October–November: after autumn planting Golden terraces (harvest time): · June–July: first harvest, the fields turn golden yellow · December–January: second harvest Dry brown terraces (less picturesque): · August–September: between harvests, some fields are empty Avoid the rainy season (July–September): The paths are slippery, muddy, rains frequently, visibility is poor. Best time: April–May (green fields, dry weather) or December–January (golden harvest, cool weather). Things to do in Batad 1. Batad Viewpoint The main vantage point for the amphitheater-like terraces. It offers the classic view you've seen in all the photos. It's located on the edge of the village, a 5-10-minute walk from the homestays. 2. Trekking on the terraces You can descend directly onto the terraces and walk along narrow paths between the rice fields. It's an incredible feeling to walk on 2,000-year-old steps! Time: 1-2 hours. 3. Tappiyah Falls From the village, you can walk to the waterfall in the center of the terraces. The trail goes down through the rice fields, then along the riverbed. Time: 1.5 hours one way, 2 hours return (ascent). Difficulty: Moderate. Steep descent and ascent, slippery in places. You can swim in a natural pool near the waterfall! 4. Awa View Deck (for advanced) This is a more challenging trek to the opposite side of the amphitheater. The views from there are even more impressive! Time: 2–2.5 hours one way. Difficulty: High. Steep climbs, not always a clear trail. A guide is recommended (locals will offer one for 300–500 pesos). 5. Interacting with Locals The Ifugao are an indigenous people with a rich culture. They wear traditional clothing, cultivate rice using ancient methods, and perform ritual dances. You can chat, learn about their lives, and buy handmade souvenirs. Approximate budget · Manila-Banaue roundtrip bus: 1,300-1,900 pesos (1,700-2,500 rubles) · Accommodation in Banaue: 1,000-3,000 pesos per night · Homestay in Batad: 500 pesos per night · Food: 300-500 pesos per day · Transportation (tricycle, jeepney): 500-1,000 pesos · Entrance fees and taxes: 50-100 pesos Total for 2-3 days: 5,000-10,000 pesos (6,500-13,000 rubles) per person. Why go A UNESCO Living Heritage Site. This isn't a museum—people still live and work here just like they did 2,000 years ago. Incredible views. The emerald steps soaring into the sky are among the most beautiful landscapes in Asia. An authentic experience. You'll spend time in a traditional village, far from civilization, and experience the rhythm of life of the Ifugao people. Physical activity. Trekking along the terraces is more than just sightseeing, it's a true adventure. Uniqueness. Terraces like these exist only here. You won't see anything like them anywhere else in the world. Conclusion The rice terraces of the Philippine Cordillera are a must-see on the island of Luzon. Yes, the journey is long (overnight bus), the trek is challenging, and the amenities are basic. But when you stand at the edge of the Batad Amphitheater and gaze upon the emerald steps carved by humans 2,000 years ago, you realize—it was worth every step! This place reminds us of the incredible power of human labor, the harmony with nature, and the importance of preserving cultural heritage. Come, explore, respect—and these ancient terraces will stay with you forever! #RiceTerraces #Banaue #Batad #Philippines #riceterraces #banaue #batad #LuzonIsland #luzon #UNESCO #unesco #PhilippinesTravel #Ifugao #ifugao #epictravelmoments

Visiting Batad isn't just about the view from afar; the real magic lies in trekking deep into these ancient rice terraces. Today’s mission was clear—climb the ridge-side stairs and hike the full highland loop. It was a bit of a workout, and I had to watch my step, but every time I paused to look back, the view made every drop of sweat worth it! Walking along the narrow stone walls of the terraces, I was surrounded by vibrant green seedlings and clear irrigation streams. From the highest vantage point, the terraces unfold across the valley like a massive amphitheater. These organic curves, hand-carved by the Ifugao people over centuries, are absolutely breathtaking. After completing the loop, I slowly descended the steep stone steps back to the village on the valley floor. The earthy scent of the soil and the fresh mountain breeze became the most cherished memories of this hike. 📸 Trekking Logs: Photos 2-3|Ascending step by step 🚶‍♂️ Climbing the terrace walls while taking in the panoramic valley views. Photo 4|Lush green seedlings 🌾 Getting close, you can see the vibrant young rice growing by the irrigation channels. Photos 1, 5-6|A priceless view 🏞️ Looking down from the peak, the terraces embrace the valley like a natural theater—a stunning blend of water, sky, and mountains! Photo 7|Towering stone steps 🧗‍♂️ Standing on these near-vertical mountain stairs is truly humbling. Photo 8|Trekkers on the ridges 👥 From high above, other hikers look tiny amidst the vast scale of the terraces. Photo 9|Returning to the village 🏡 Back at the valley floor, the paddies reflect the sky, marking the perfect end to this hike. 📍 Batad Rice Terraces, Banaue, Ifugao, Philippines

#falladventures #travel #familytravel You can go by yourself. Jeepney from Banaue to Hunguduan, one a day in the afternoon, 60p. Get off at Hapao. Go down the road with the Bojah (hot spring) sign. Go past the back of the elementary school and head towards the church (marked by a cross) along the river. There are two inns about 100m from the church. The hot spring is at the exit of the valley upstream of the river. Cross the bridge and from the rest area, go up the rice field footpath and the side path of the canal. There are two paths, so you can go up and down separately. Because it is along the canal, the ups and downs are gentle, but sandals are not allowed. There is no shade, so a straw hat is recommended. It is better to bring water as well. The hot spring is 70p. There is a changing room. Bring your swimsuit. There is no restaurant, so you have to ask the inn. On the way back, there is only one jeepney to Banaue after 6 am. It is very quiet at night. I guarantee that you can relax and enjoy the rice terraces. If you don't have the language skills or negotiation skills, you should go on an expensive guided tour. If you go by yourself, it will cost less than 1000 pesos (including transportation, accommodation, and meals). If you enjoy the pictures, please like them! #summerdestinations Philippines is more than beaches and surfing! When you go beyond the coastline you can encounter places that can only be reached by foot. In this chapter, we took my friends on a unguided trip for 3 days in the remote mountains of Philippines were we were completely distanced from the rest of the world. While most of time the weather was favorable; when it was not… swimming in the waterfall was the only option!

The view in the Province of ifugao while traveling. nice view of mountains. This is our early morning drive from ifugao to isabe open window so you can feel the breeze of the wind and the smell of green trees around.

Ifugao, officially the Province of Ifugao, is a landlocked province of the Philippines in the Cordillera Administrative Region in Luzon. Its capital is Lagawe and it borders Benguet to the west, Mountain Province to the north, Isabela to the east, and Nueva Vizcaya to the south.
