#traveldiaries I spent a perfect day at the beach in Hel, Poland, and it was everything I hoped for! The town sits at the tip of the Hel Peninsula, surrounded by the Baltic Sea, offering long stretches of sandy beaches and clear, refreshing water. There’s no entrance fee to the beach, which makes it an ideal spot for a budget-friendly day by the sea. I spent my time lounging on the sand, swimming in the cool waters, and walking along the shore while enjoying the beautiful views of the coastline. Hel has a relaxed vibe, with nearby attractions like the Seal Sanctuary (about 15 PLN) where you can learn about the local wildlife. You can also visit the Hel Lighthouse for an incredible panoramic view of the peninsula. Don’t forget to explore the charming town itself – there are small shops, cozy cafés, and fresh seafood at every corner. Hel is one of the northern most points of Poland and is situated on a peninsula just north of the more well-known Tri-City of Poland made up of Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot. From any of these three cities you can take a bus or train to Hel at the end of this peninsula and enjoy 360 views of the Baltic Sea with gorgeous white sand making up this tremendous stretch of land, plenty of room for everyone to sit and relax during the summer. I was there during the early summer and the place was completely empty and I was just in completely awe with this place. You can also catch a ferry from Gdańsk to Hel if you fancied taking in views from the sea or a relatively short boat journey.
