With so many resorts to choose from and having tried several, I knew my husband would be thrilled to return for our 3rd visit to the incredible Emerald Resort and Spa. Our journey began with a hiccup: Heathrow air traffic delays pushed our departure back a day. Arriving later than expected in Male, we faced further disappointment as weather conditions canceled our seaplane transfer. However, Emerald's team in Male turned an inconvenient situation into a manageable one. They promptly arranged for us to stay overnight at a hotel in Male, organized all necessary transport, and ensured we were on the first flight to the resort the next morning. From handling our luggage to making us feel cared for, their attentiveness was extraordinary. Once we arrived at Emerald, we were welcomed with warm smiles and enthusiastic waves from familiar faces. Christina, our delightful host, showed us to our Water Villa with Pool, reached via sandy, winding paths. Check-in was quick and seamless, right in the comfort of our spacious villa. The room, with its stunning view of the infinity pool blending into the azure ocean, made all our stress melt away within minutes. The bathroom? An absolute treat—spacious, luxurious, and fully stocked with thoughtful amenities. Christina was a dream host. From arranging dinner reservations to organizing excursions and even sourcing specialized milk and ice packs for my health needs, her attention to detail was unmatched. She genuinely cared about our comfort and went above and beyond to make our stay extraordinary. The water villa felt like our private haven, offering both serenity and luxury. We woke up each day to breathtaking ocean views, enjoying total privacy. Though bicycles were provided, we opted for buggy rides which gave us the chance to chat with friendly drivers who always seemed to appear instantly. One cherished member of the Emerald family, our buddy Nappe, was sadly on vacation this time, and he was truly missed. But his amazing colleagues made sure we were spoiled and kept up the sense of humor and kindness he’s known for. The food lived up to every expectation and more, ranging from sumptuous gourmet dishes to casual classics. A must-try experience is the Teppanyaki evening at Asiatique—a fun, interactive dining affair with incredible Asian cuisine. Special shoutouts go to Head Chef Alok, who went out of his way to prepare a soothing soup for my sore throat alongside our beloved spicy dishes, and Chef Vickram, who created a dish for us that wasn’t even on the menu. Their attention and culinary expertise truly made every meal exceptional. Personal touches stretched far and wide, from romantic beachside dinners to thoughtfully planned wine tastings led by sommeliers Chris and Bright, whose charm and expertise added an extra layer of magic to our stay. Nazmul, our villa attendant, was another star. His meticulous care for our room and understanding of our preferences made every day a joy. Getting to know him personally one evening was a highlight, and his contributions to our stay were beyond commendable. A heartfelt thank-you also goes to the unseen heroes—the gardeners, laundry staff, and back-office teams—who work tirelessly to maintain the perfection that is Emerald. And to Christina, your warmth and attention made us feel so loved and cherished, like royalty. You are such a special person. I’m familiar with London but sought a hotel in a safe area near a tube station with ramps and lifts for easier maneuvering, especially with luggage. Many tube stops have stairs, so you need to be cautious. Earl’s Court is conveniently located on the Piccadilly line, directly accessible from Heathrow. I exclusively used the underground for transport during my stay. The hotel is approximately an 8-minute walk from the station, depending on orientation toward the front or back exits. As a Marriott Bonvoy elite member, check-in was smooth. The staff were professional, attentive, and well-trained. The one-bedroom suite, including a living room and kitchen, provided more space than you’d typically find in London at an excellent price point. I booked six months in advance for a September 2026 stay and found the hotel fully occupied. Breakfast included typical morning items as well as rotating Indian-inspired dishes like samosas. The avocado mash and hummus were delicious, offering a good variety for vegans. However, I don't think they provided Kosher meat options. While the refrigerator was an extra feature, it took two calls to the front desk before I understood the Miele multifunctional microwave oven and hob. The provided instructions didn’t match its activation steps, so updating the guidelines would be helpful. The bathroom was compact, but the shower had adjustable spray settings and hot water. Although the bedroom’s TV didn’t work despite two maintenance visits, this didn’t bother me since I wasn’t there to watch television. The air conditioning was critical, even in September, as the windows don’t open. Unlike some reviews, I managed to set it to a cool 18-20°C temperature. Housekeeping replenished supplies daily and offered extra towels. The basement laundry room was heavily utilized by guests but proved a great asset for starting the second leg of my trip with clean clothes. There’s a Tesco supermarket nearby for grocery shopping if you plan to cook, though Uber Eats deliveries were common among guests. The well-equipped kitchen includes heating and refrigeration options, including a small freezer. As for the hotel atmosphere, the guests ranged from solo travelers to small groups, business visitors, extended stays, and families with young children. The elevators were heavily used but always functional despite the urban views and ongoing construction in the neighborhood. Overall, this is a well-managed property. Every staff member I encountered was attentive and made me feel appreciated as a guest. If good service, convenience, and these features are important to you, I’d highly recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Yet another relaxing, gratifying, and all-around excellent stay at this wonderful hotel. Although the trip didn’t begin perfectly, as British Airways misplaced our luggage at Heathrow, leaving us without it for three days, the experience was still memorable. Antonio at the hotel did his utmost to help expedite the process, but the delays were ultimately due to BA’s misinformation and inefficiency at TFS airport. Despite this hiccup, my wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, likely our 12th visit, and certainly not our last. In fact, we’ve already booked another trip for May 2027. Beyond the beautifully maintained property, excellent food, and the warm ambiance of the hotel, the staff excel in both friendliness and efficiency. For us, however, the standout is Tiziana, the Assistant Manager. She truly is the JOIA (jewel) of The JOIA El Mirador.

The staff at this hotel truly elevates the experience to a 5-star level, all while maintaining very reasonable 4-star rates. The rooftop bar stands out with its fantastic views, and if you’re a Hyatt "Globalist," it’s a perfect spot for breakfast. For others, the breakfast served downstairs is also excellent. Many rooms offer stunning city views, and I highly recommend opting for a room with a balcony—it’s definitely worth it! Although the location isn’t on one of London’s more upscale streets, the hotel’s proximity to Shoreditch and East London is fantastic. Plus, the nearby Whitehall Underground station on the Elizabeth line provides easy access directly to Heathrow.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Paddington Station, which offers several subway lines as well as a direct connection to Heathrow. The staff was very kind when I arrived earlier than expected, allowing me to access my room. Like most London hotels, the room wasn't very spacious, but it was more than sufficient for a single person—comfortable and practical. The bathroom was also somewhat small, but that's not an issue when traveling alone. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, and they even gave me some small souvenirs, which were a nice touch.

Highly recommend this place! As a first-time visitor to London, it was an exceptionally ideal spot to stay. We had limited time in the city and were flying in and out of Heathrow. The proximity to the London Express—just a 6-minute walk—was incredibly convenient, and the underground transit made exploring simple. The morning breakfast offered a fantastic variety. Complimentary beverages in the room fridge were a nice touch, especially for our outings. This place is delightful, and I would definitely return!

To be honest, I couldn’t fault the guides, drivers, or most of the tour organization we experienced in both the UK and China. However, some arrangements could be refined. The brochure depicts direct flights into Shanghai and out of Beijing, but this was misleading. Instead, we flew via Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific, requiring a security check and navigating across the airport within an hour. While manageable if flights run on time, we missed our connection back to Heathrow on the return journey due to tight scheduling, leading to a rerouted flight to Manchester. There, we faced another delay of 11 hours due to "weather" and ground crew disorganization by British Airways. Adding to the inconvenience, family members were seated apart and we had to apply for refunds on our chosen seats. In China, initial hiccups included miscommunication about the meeting point with our guide and learning, only upon arrival, that a National Guide accompanies groups over a certain size. For our group of six, local guides at each destination were helpful and punctual but had to part with us after security checks, leaving us to manage on our own—a potential challenge for less experienced travelers. Our time in Shanghai was lovely, as described in the brochure. We also opted for the additional night river cruise, which was worth the 300 yuan. However, the early 3:00 AM wake-up the next morning for a flight to Chichang left us jet-lagged, sleep-deprived, and exhausted. Instead of rest, the day involved visiting a museum and hours of free time before boarding the river cruise ship at 6 PM. This could have been better planned to allow for a more restful day. The remainder of the tour was enjoyable, well-organized, and lived up to our expectations. The hotels were comfortable and meals, predominantly Chinese cuisine, were delicious and plentiful. Breakfast provided a mix of Western and local dishes, while lunches and dinners involved sharing preordered plates with the group. Guides were accommodating with dietary preferences, and beverages like beer were inexpensive (though diet or sugar-free soft drinks were scarce). Free bottled water was consistently provided, with daily allocations even on the cruise. Overall, it was a great holiday. However, the return flight issues somewhat marred the experience, and traveling during the Chinese school holidays in August meant it was busier than ideal. Choosing a quieter period would have been preferable. · *Tips:** · Confirm if your holiday includes direct flights; otherwise, check airport transfer times. · Only carry power banks with a CCC logo and QR code, as others may be confiscated. · Get a VPN-based internet package before traveling for access to blocked Google apps and Gmail. · Avoid taking aerosols (even under 120ml), as they could be confiscated at railway stations. · Pack lightly; formal wear wasn’t needed, even on the river cruise. · Use porter services on trains to ensure your bags are loaded for around 30 yuan per piece. · Familiarize yourself with itinerary notes on expenses, tipping, and other details. · Be aware that Alipay is more widely accepted than credit cards; download it beforehand. · Bring a strong insect repellent with DEET as it may be difficult to find locally. · Be mindful of group schedules and punctuality; trains are very strict about departure times and require advanced passport checks.

I flew ANA's Business Class "The Room" from London Heathrow to Tokyo Haneda in both May and August of 2026. "The Room" features a unique layout where even-numbered rows face forward and odd-numbered rows face backward. The main draw of the rear-facing seats is the enhanced privacy; the seat is tucked away by the window while the side table faces the aisle. I opted for a rear-facing seat on both trips. In May, I sat in seat 11A in the rear cabin area (Photos 2-9). Perhaps because I was so exhausted, the sensation of gravity during takeoff while facing backward didn't bother me at all. Once at cruising altitude, you don't even realize you're moving backward unless you look out the window. Meal service began near Frankfurt. Unfortunately, the steak was incredibly well-done and tough to cut. The flight attendant noticed my struggle and kindly apologized for the quality. Being quite tired, I skipped dessert—my apologies to the crew! I woke up over the Gobi Desert with just three hours to go. I had the Japanese meal before landing and arrived right on schedule. In August, I chose 5K in the forward cabin (Photos 1, 10+), a quiet two-row section just behind First Class. Right after boarding, a lady assigned to 6G told the crew she didn't want the seat and asked to move to the rear cabin. I wondered why at first, but I'd soon find out the reason. While the amenity brand had changed since May, the contents remained similar, though the packaging felt a bit cheaper. Since I wasn't as tired this time, the gravity pull during takeoff felt quite strange in the rear-facing seat, making me think a forward-facing one might be better next time. However, the steak was cooked perfectly this time. During the flight, the crew frequently opened and closed a small overhead bin above the now-empty 6G seat to access personal items like water and snacks. Sitting in row 5, I had a direct view of this constant activity and noise. I realized then that the lady from 6G likely moved to avoid this disturbance. While the front cabin offers perks like faster meal service and priority deplaning, I think I’ll stick to the rear cabin next time to ensure a quieter flight.

Used Airportr for the first time due to having excess baggage. They arrived, tagged everything, and delivered and checked in our bags at Heathrow seamlessly! The online tracker they provide is a nice bonus too.

We booked a car for a long layover at Heathrow, and our driver Ali picked us up at the airport and took us to Windsor. We were able to leave our carry-ons in the van while we walked around town and enjoyed lunch. Afterward, he drove us around, showing us a few interesting sights before taking us back to the airport. Ali was amazing—very professional and friendly. The van was spotless and very comfortable. We highly recommend this service and plan to use it again on our next trip here.

I stayed at this hotel once in a standard room for a short stay in April 2026 and then again for 13 nights during the same month. For the longer stay, I received an upgrade to a larger corner room with a view of the city skyline. · *Location:** Situated in Aldgate, close to the namesake Underground station. Whitehall station, which connects to the Elizabeth Line (a direct route to Heathrow!), is about a 10-15-minute walk away. A hospital with an emergency room is similarly distant. The area has a few restaurants and cafés, but overall feels a bit shabby. Nearby, there's a Tesco Express suitable for essentials like drinks and snacks but not much else. Close to the subway, a Pret A Manger marks the beginning of the business district, which is noticeably cleaner. The location is convenient for thoroughly exploring London, with most major spots reachable via the Underground or bus with at most one transfer. It's still within the more affordable Zone 1. · *Hotel:** The reception is in the basement, along with a restaurant and breakfast area. In the evenings, the electronic door is locked and can only be opened with a hotel key card, which is also necessary to operate the elevator. The top floor features a bar with a terrace. · *Rooms:** Clean, quiet, equipped with a large TV, multiple light switches, a tea kettle, and a capsule coffee machine. The corner room offered an excellent skyline view. However, there were no coat hooks, just a small hanging area with a few hangers inside the wardrobe—not ideal. · *Bathroom:** Quite small in both rooms. The lack of counter space and only one hook made hanging multiple towels challenging. Positively, the shower had refillable containers for shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner. Towel replacement was inconsistent; placing towels to signal no replacement was often ignored. On arrival, mini-towels were provided, but after placing them on the floor for replacement, they were never restocked throughout the stay, which was odd. · *Hairdryer:** A powerful dryer, but inconvenient to use as there wasn't an outlet in the bathroom. Drying hair at the desk with its short cable was frustrating. · *Conclusion:** Overall, it's a practical and decent hotel in a convenient, albeit not particularly charming, area for exploring London. The minor inconveniences we encountered could be easily addressed.

Another fantastic week at the Holmes Hotel – the great Marylebone location, charming room, and attentive staff never fail to impress. In this heat, their excellent air conditioning is worth mentioning. Big thanks to Jeet at the front desk, who went above and beyond. He arranged for me to use the gym showers after arriving early from an overnight flight, helped with my next booking, and organized a car to Heathrow at checkout. I'll definitely be back soon! Pro tip: For breakfast, try their tomato, avocado, Halloumi, and olive platter with toast – the freshly squeezed orange juice is a must too.

We always choose this company whenever we need transportation to and from Heathrow. Syed is exceptionally skilled, courteous, and reliable. As a family, we prefer not to book drivers we are unfamiliar with, prioritizing our safety. Whenever Syed is available, he will always be our go-to driver!

What can I say! Absolutely amazing—spent two weeks living in paradise! From boarding the flight in Newcastle, landing at Heathrow, then heading from Heathrow to Male, everything was well-organized and hassle-free. We transferred by speedboat to the island, where we were warmly welcomed by our host Sonet and the TUI rep Lily. They escorted us to reception for check-in, and soon after, to our overwater villa. Everything was flawless—the staff were exceptional, and the food was delightful across all restaurants. We mainly dined at the main restaurant to enjoy the wider selection (just what suited us). Here, we were greeted warmly each morning, lunch, and dinner by Brij, known for his lovely smile, and Kashmi, along with other wonderful members of staff. We also visited The Bite and the bar, where Anton and his incredible team, including Indra, Mona, Lizzie, and Aneka, stood out. Aneka always lifted me up with sweet comments about my hair. The romance bar was another highlight, where chatting with Loki was a joy. Activities were equally enjoyable—I joined in on yoga, Pilates, meditation, and aqua aerobics, guided by the outstanding trainers Kristina and Adem. Paddleboarding was another fun experience. During our stay, Lily and Peter often greeted us at the bar with open ears, ready to assist if any problems arose (though we had none). I hope I haven’t forgotten to mention anyone because every single person made our holiday absolutely fabulous. We truly hope to return—such a breathtakingly amazing place! 🙏🙏

The service at the hotel was excellent. Joshua stood out as particularly impressive, being extremely helpful, friendly, and making our trip much smoother. He shared useful information about local restaurants, shopping spots, and transportation options. Since I have food restrictions, he thoughtfully remembered them and helped recommend suitable dining places based on our plans each day. He consistently asked about the type of food we wanted and our daily activities to pinpoint the best restaurants nearby. Additionally, he handled our luggage when our Uber arrived for our Heathrow trip, which was especially accommodating given the blocked entrance due to ongoing construction and our numerous suitcases. Breakfast service was consistently top-notch, with Kapil and the team providing excellent care. The food itself was enjoyable, and fresh-made items like porridge, omelettes, and fried eggs were readily available. Although the dinner menu was quite limited, the food quality was still good.

I love the Marylebone area, conveniently located right off Baker Street station and offering easy access to Heathrow or Eurostar. There are great food options nearby and the morning walks around are delightful. Upon arrival, you're warmly greeted by friendly staff who are very attentive and helpful, and you can enjoy tea or coffee in the lovely lobby while checking in. The rooms are clean, practical, and excellent value for the price. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again in the future.

Good day! We recently stayed one night at Griffin Belle following a Transatlantic cruise. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Michelle and Camilla, who had fantastic personalities and were incredibly helpful. For lunch, we had a delicious meal prepared by Chef Hassan—smash burgers and chicken burgers with a Bogo offer. During the European heatwave, the air conditioning in our super clean room was truly a blessing. At dinner, the pub on the ground floor was bustling with activity. We met the manager, Mark, who was exceptionally kind and highly efficient with both guests and staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, draft beers, and a large screen TV where we could watch the World Cup and celebrate the USA's win. Traveled from Heathrow and found it very convenient to take the Northern line, switch to the Elizabeth line at Tottenham Court Road, and then walk a short distance from Euston. Plenty of restaurants, takeaways, and express supermarkets are about five minutes away. The staff were friendly upon arrival. The hotel room was modern but small, as is common in London, and the bathroom had a quirky design. My husband and I found it perfect for using as a base during our stay. The room was clean, and I didn’t notice any noise. A major highlight is how close it is to Euston Station, making it great for getting around London via the underground. I’d definitely stay here again, thanks!

The location is convenient, as the Elizabeth line offers easy access from Heathrow to the Ibis Excel hotel and from the hotel to the downtown area. The room is decent, the breakfast is good, and the service from Patricia, Andrei, Sizvano, and the front desk staff is excellent.

This was my first time experiencing a flight simulator, and I’m so glad I picked The Flight Experience because it was amazing! I’ve had a long-standing interest in aviation and always wanted to try something like this. I did a "realtime" flight from Newcastle to London Heathrow, followed by a takeoff and landing at Madeira Funchal airport. Flying over central London was incredible, and the visuals were impressively detailed—I'm not easily impressed. I absolutely loved the entire experience and highly recommend The Flight Experience to anyone. I can’t wait to go back! The best part is how personalized the whole experience is. Overview: Threadneedles is an excellent business hotel located in London’s financial district. The interior is sophisticated and elegant, reflecting its history as a former bank. The conversion to a 74-room hotel has been done well. However, the hotel falls short on soundproofing and its HVAC system isn’t suited for very hot weather. Despite these shortcomings, my overall experience at Threadneedles was positive. Arrival: The doorman was friendly and helpful. Check-in: Check-in was efficient and polite, with recognition of my Marriott status. Room (314): The king room was well-equipped with standard amenities like a Nespresso coffee maker, tea kettle, mini-refrigerator, iron, TV, and more. Bed: The king-size bed was comfortable, complemented by decent linens. Sleep quality: Sleep quality was acceptable, though the walls are quite thin. I was lucky that the neighboring rooms were not noisy at night. However, in the morning, I could clearly hear a parent lecturing his young daughter in the adjoining room. Bathroom: The bathroom was spacious and had a fantastic bathtub. Housekeeping: Housekeeping services, including turn-down service, were excellent. Service: Overall, the hotel's service was outstanding. WiFi: The WiFi was rather slow. HVAC: During my stay, London experienced a record-setting heat wave, and the room’s HVAC system failed to keep up. As a result, the room remained uncomfortably hot. Thankfully, the staff provided a fan, and my exhaustion enabled me to sleep on the first night. If London is in the midst of a heatwave, you may want to consider staying elsewhere. Tips: 1. It’s easy to get to this hotel from Heathrow via train—though a transfer at Paddington is required. The hotel is within a short walking distance from the train station, even with a large suitcase. 2. There’s an excellent pub nearby called The Counting House, just a block away. 3. Being located in the heart of the financial district, many pubs and restaurants in the area are closed on weekends.
