⚠️ Must-Read Before Departure ⚠️
️⃣ Large altitude range throughout the trip (2200-5254 meters), day-night temperature difference nearly 16℃! Windproof jackets, light down jackets, long sleeves and pants are essential. Chaka and Qilian Grassland are extremely cold in the morning and evening, even in summer don’t wear short sleeves overnight.
️⃣ UV intensity in Northwest China is 3 times that of plains+, inadequate sun protection will cause tanning and sunburn! SPF50+ sunscreen (reapply every 1.5 hours), sun hat, sunglasses, arm sleeves, sun mask all necessary, don’t slack on exposed skin.
️⃣ Gangshika Snow Peak (view from afar) area is high altitude, those sensitive to altitude sickness should take Rhodiola 3-5 days in advance. After arriving in Xining, rest and adapt freely first, don’t rush the journey to avoid worsening altitude sickness.
️⃣ The 8-day itinerary covers salt lakes, gobi deserts, deserts, grasslands and other landscapes. Wear comfortable hiking shoes or thick-soled casual shoes throughout, high heels are strictly prohibited! Heidushan and Mingsha Mountain sections are difficult to walk, high heels are tiring and prone to sprains.
