From the cable car, you can enjoy a panoramic view of lush greenery. Inside the cave, it's cool and refreshing, and you can see stalactites and waterfalls up close. During the summer season, they also seem to serve flowing somen noodles (nagashi somen). 【Taki Shrine ⛩️】(Photos 6-8) 📍 2218 Otokari, Mino City, Gifu Prefecture This mysterious shrine nestled in the forest is absolutely Instagram-worthy. The moss growing on the hundreds of stone steps and the guardian statues gave the place a wonderful, historic feel. 【Tsukechi Gorge Fudo Waterfall】(Photos 9-11) 📍 6-39 Tsukechi-cho, Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture Selected as one of Gifu Prefecture's 50 Best Waters and one of Japan's 100 Best Forests for Forest Bathing, Fudo Waterfall reveals its crystal-clear water as you walk along the forest path! I felt like all my negative thoughts were washed away along with the falling water. You can soak in the negative ions while forest bathing, and the sounds of the earth and water provide natural healing ♪ In autumn, the leaves turn a vivid vermilion, creating a wonderful contrast 🍁 【Ryujin Waterfall】(Photos 12-15) 📍 1057-4 Kawaue, Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture It is located about a 30-minute drive from Fudo Waterfall. While Fudo Waterfall was amazing, Ryujin Waterfall features a more striking emerald green color, and it's said that the water changes color up to seven times a day, showing shades like cobalt blue and emerald blue. There's also a boardwalk nearby, making it the perfect photo spot! If you ever have the chance to visit Gifu Prefecture, be sure to go and experience the lush, green nature 🌳

Ena City is a gem in the suburbs of Nagoya in Gifu Prefecture. It is about 2 hours away from Nagoya Station by JR Chuo Main Line train🚆, making it a good choice for a day trip! 🎀 I rarely found information about this place online or in videos, and I thought there should be few tourists, so I decided to come here🏞️ There are really few people here, and it's very comfortable to walk around🌳 Ena has different scenery in each season, and its river view is the most famous🩵 There are cherry blossoms in spring🌸, green forests in summer🌿, maple leaves in autumn🍁, and snow scenery in winter❄️ I visited at the end of March, but I wanted to go back to appreciate the beauty of the four seasons, because it was a pity that the cherry blossoms had not yet bloomed🥹 Ena is famous for its Gohei Mochi, and there are many shops just outside the JR station! This kind of toasted rice cake is coated with soy sauce and sesame paste, and it is fragrant. It is available at roadside stalls and restaurants, and costs about 200-300 yen. There are also chestnut desserts 🌰, because Ena is rich in chestnuts! There are several attractions as soon as you exit Ena Station, including art galleries and ancient houses for visiting. The street also has a bit of an old street feel, but there are few people and it is very comfortable to walk. This is my favorite photo from this trip to Gifu. I love the sweets here because they are so cute, from the box to the cookies inside, but the world view of the shop is so cute that if I ever have a shop in the future, I want it to be like this 🥺It's so wonderful... Also, on the way to the shop, when I looked up, there were grapes 🍇 growing, flowers on the side, and sunlight filtering through the trees. Sakuya Cafe, where you can eat this Mont Blanc, isn't tucked away deep in the Ena mountains; it's located right by the Kani Mitake Interchange in Kani City, making it very accessible from Nagoya. I arrived at 8:30 AM, well ahead of the 10:00 AM opening. Shortly after, the first couple started queuing, so I decided to join them. Chestnut Kinton Sculptures The grounds feature several sculptures shaped like chestnut kintons that also serve as benches. I saw people snapping photos of their kids sitting on them for social media. In less than an hour, the queue swelled to over 100 people, eventually wrapping all the way around the building. I’m so glad I got there early. Inside the Cafe Once it hit 10:00 AM and I headed inside, I found plenty of seating—about 60 spots in total. The system is to order at the counter first, then be shown to your seat. With a crowd of over 200 people waiting outside by opening time, you definitely eat while feeling the intense gaze of everyone still in line! (lol) Kuri Hitosuji Behold the seasonal exclusive "Kuri Hitosuji" Mont Blanc (1,080 yen). It’s massive, measuring about 12cm in diameter—roughly the size of a CD. Nearby, there are also hot spring hotels where you can soak in the baths while enjoying the lake and mountain views outside the window, providing a truly healing experience. Suggested Itinerary: Starting from Ena City center, it takes about 20 minutes by car to reach Enakyo Gorge. Begin your visit at Enakyo Park, where you can stroll along the gorge. The path is lined with ginkgo and maple trees, especially stunning in autumn. Be sure to allocate time to take photos at the observation deck, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the lake and mountains, which are particularly poetic on rainy days. Afterward, consider booking a nearby hot spring hotel to enjoy a quiet soaking experience. Some rooms offer direct views of the lake, making it an exceptional experience. Must-Visit Spots: 1. A river where you can enjoy SUP and canoeing. 📍Address: Kasagi-cho, Ena City, Gifu Prefecture 🚗Access: By car Gifu Prefecture is rich in nature 🏔️ The water here is absolutely stunning 💖 Located upstream of the Kiso River and near Ena Gorge, Kasagi Gorge offers a mystical scenery that you can't see at Ena Gorge‼️ It seems to be a place where you can enjoy paddleboarding or canoeing, and with a permit application, you can have fun on this river 🛶 There were actually people canoeing when I visited‼️ It also looks like you can do SUP nearby 😍 I saw groups participating as well❣️ Next time I visit, I want to join a SUP tour in this magnificent nature 🚣
