This small and quaint ancient village nestled among the mountains dates back to the mid-Qing Dynasty, with a history of 600 years. The Buyi-style stilt houses in the village have been built and demolished, and demolished and rebuilt, yet they still retain their traditional style. All of the more than 200 households in the village are Buyi people, with no other ethnic groups living among them. Nanlong Buyi Ancient Village is located in a mountainous river valley terrain and is one of the most beautifully preserved ancient Buyi villages in Xingyi City, with a rich ethnic cultural atmosphere and natural scenery. The buildings in the village are all arranged in a Bagua (Eight Trigrams) formation. The Bagua Village, the Pointing Platform, and the Drill Grounds leave many historical mysteries for people to ponder. Nanlong Village is one of the most quaint villages I have visited in recent years. There is no commercialization here, only traditional Buyi stilt houses. The only business is a parking lot outside the village that can accommodate more than ten cars. Upon arriving at the ancient Buyi village, I saw a parking lot on the slope opposite the village gate with five cars already parked. There was no one collecting parking fees, just an old lady sitting on a stone step with a child. After parking the car and preparing to leave, the elderly woman stood up and shyly whispered, 'Parking fee.' Seeing the old woman's simple and embarrassed look, I immediately approached and asked if I could pay with WeChat. The old lady nodded, took out a card with a QR code, and said softly, '10 yuan,' then explained, 'This parking lot is managed by four families, each collecting fees for one day, and the fee is set at 10 yuan, no more.' The old woman's every move made me feel the simple local customs. Walking into the village, I saw dense shade and tranquility. From a distance, the ancient village was tightly surrounded by towering banyan trees of various shapes. The Buyi stilt houses were faintly visible among the trees, and everything seemed very natural. The centuries-old trees scattered throughout the village bear witness to its vicissitudes and changes. The mountains, rivers, trees, buildings, and people of Nanlong Buyi Ancient Village combine to form a beautiful natural watercolor painting, showcasing its unique mystery and charm to the world. The village is quiet, with small paths, crowing chickens, barking dogs, curling cooking smoke, steaming from brewing, and the sound of weaving looms... The village presents a scene of tranquility and harmony, where people live in harmony with nature, reminiscent of the idyllic scene described by the poet Tao Yuanming: 'The warm glow of a distant village, the lingering smoke from the hamlet. The barking of dogs in deep lanes, the crowing of chickens in the mulberry trees.' I love the worldly atmosphere, a few tile-roofed houses, small courtyards, watching the passing of time, gathering is the smoke of life, spreading out is the world of people. Nanlong Ancient Village has simple local customs and a strong Buyi cultural atmosphere. The village has intangible cultural heritages such as Buyi eight-tone sitting singing, Buyi opera, Buyi embroidery, Buyi eight major professions, and ancient sugar-making techniques. Besides the small restaurants, guesthouses, and specialty shops on the village square, there is no commercialization, making it particularly quiet. Upon inquiry, it turns out that to better protect the ancient architectural complex in the village, it has been designated as a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit. Therefore, most of the original residents have relocated to settlement points, with only a few villagers remaining.
