Matter and mist, abandoning the design itself, yet transcending design

The designer says, this place is, naturally grown, abandoning the design itself, but comfortable, with texture. Xiaolin took us around, and she said, originally this was a Naxi-style antique building, the birthplace of the Mu chieftain, the residence of the Naxi royal family that ruled Lijiang for over 400 years. You see, a hotel with such a background must pay tribute in architecture and be profound in content. However, when our designers entered this land, the power of natural infection towards the environment, rather than going against nature, the ideal of wanting to abandon design emerged. Talking about this hotel from the medieval furniture that traveled across the sea, I could talk all day, but after experiencing it for a few days, extracting feelings from the nine courtyards named Yize, Ermu, Sanchuan, Wufu, Liuchen, Qijing. Open-style rooms, with the view from the windows, try to integrate guests of every season into this place. You make a wish under the snow mountain, feel the dew in the forest, and feel the wind by the meadow, all of this can happen within the room. A few details I like, the 300 hanging lamps in the hotel lobby echo the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the concept of wind and caravan bells, echoing a pilgrimage, the Naxi custom of gathering around the fire, brought to the entrance of the dining area. To the west of the hotel is a large forest, Matter and Mist also has a treasure of Glamping in it, I played here for a long time with my daughter, watching flowers, leaves, and where the dandelions fly. In Baisha Old Town below the hotel, there are many carpenters of tables and chairs, from the medieval world to the handcrafted world, these are the most unforgettable days of my trip to Lijiang, integrating oneself into the journey, our thinking itself is a story.
