East Lake Park is an oasis in the city, and its lakeside hiking trail is a path full of surprises and tranquility. In the early morning, when the first rays of sunlight hit the surface of the lake in East Lake Park, I stood at the starting point of the lakeside hiking trail. At the entrance, the words "Lakeside Hiking Trail" are carved on a simple stone, surrounded by lush green plants, as if whispering to tourists about the magical journey that is about to unfold. Stepping on the hiking trail, the path under my feet is paved with stone slabs, and the stone slabs have traces of the years, each of which seems to carry the stories of past pedestrians. On one side of the road is the vast lake of East Lake. The lake ripples under the breeze, sparkling like countless broken diamonds dancing on the water. Occasionally, a few water birds fly over the lake. They either dive into the water for food or glide gracefully on the water, adding a lively breath to the calm lake. I couldn't help but take out my phone and take a picture of this harmonious scene of lake light and bird shadow. Walking slowly along the hiking trail, the woods next to me became denser. The tall trees block the sun, and the sunlight shines through the gaps in the leaves, forming golden rays of light, like a dreamy fairyland. The woods are filled with the fresh aroma of vegetation, a mixture of the greenness of leaves, the fragrance of soil, and the sweetness of flowers. Take a deep breath, as if you can cleanse the dust in your lungs. Various birds sing happily on the branches, their singing intertwined, like a symphony of nature. I saw a woodpecker working hard on the trunk. The sound of pecking wood was particularly clear in the quiet woods. This vivid scene was also recorded by me with a camera. As the hiking trail gradually rises, the field of vision becomes more and more open. On a viewing platform at a corner, I stopped. Looking far away, the whole view of East Lake is in sight. The lake is like a huge blue gem, set in the embrace of the city. Around the lake is a piece of green grass and colorful flowers, like a gorgeous lace for East Lake. The city buildings in the distance are looming in the morning mist. The modern city and natural landscape are perfectly integrated here, forming a unique picture. Continue to climb up, the hiking trail becomes a bit rugged, but this also adds a lot of fun to the adventure. Some peculiar rocks began to appear on the side of the road. Some of them are like crouching beasts, and some are like eagles about to fly. The magic of nature is amazing. In a gap in the rock, I found a blooming wild flower. They are growing tenaciously in this harsh environment, blooming with brilliant colors. The delicate flowers and the cold rocks form a sharp contrast, and the tenacity of life is vividly displayed at this moment. Unconsciously, I have reached the top of the mountain. There is an ancient pavilion on the top of the mountain. The flying eaves of the pavilion are particularly beautiful against the blue sky. Walk into the pavilion, sit on the stone bench and rest. At this time, the breeze is blowing, bringing a hint of coolness, dispelling the fatigue of climbing. Overlooking from the top of the mountain, the lake of East Lake seems to be within reach, and the lakeside hiking trail is like a winding ribbon, tightly connecting the lake and the mountain. The surrounding mountains are undulating, and the trees are shaded. The magnificent scenery makes people feel open-minded, and all troubles are thrown away. On the way down the mountain, I walked more easily. When I passed the woods again, I found some traces of small animals, such as the traces left by squirrels jumping between branches, and the paths of wild rabbits running in the grass. This made me feel that this mountain forest is the home of many creatures, and we humans are just visitors. When I returned to the starting point of the hiking trail, the sun was already slanting west. This trip to the East Lake Park Lakeside Hiking Trail not only allowed me to appreciate the beautiful scenery of nature, feel the vitality and tenacity of life, but also allowed me to find a quiet harbor in the busy city life.
