Xiamen's Urban Green Lung: Wuyuanwan Wetland Park

Xiamen Wuyuanwan Wetland Park is located on the south coast of the Wuyuanwan area in Xiamen, and is the largest park in the city, as well as the largest wetland ecological park, known as Xiamen's urban green lung. The park features a wetland ecological nature reserve, mangrove plant area, bird watching island, and a lakeside leisure sports area. In addition to preserving the natural environment, the park also plans to have two waterside pavilions, a lakeside ecological transition area, a water sports area, and a wetland maze boardwalk. On the current site of the park, there are aquatic and wetland plant belts, aquatic plant communities, reeds, and wetland regional plant communities. The 25 species of wetland waterfowl from 9 families and 29 species of mountain and farmland birds from 17 families that inhabit the wetlands will continue to thrive and sing here. We can sit on the viewing balcony of the waterside pavilion and look at the five bridges that are interlinked like rings, stroll on the wooden walkway to see the reeds swaying on the lake and the water lilies blooming, watch the waterfowl rise and fall in the mist on the lake's heart bird island, and enjoy the pleasure of fishing on the wooden deck platform.
