#celebrateit The "Zhongzheng" of the National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall is another name for Chiang Kai-shek (1887-1975), the first president of the Republic of China and the president of the Chinese Kuomintang. It was built in 1980 to commemorate Chiang Kai-shek, who died in 1975. Located in the centre of Taipei, it boasts a magnificent scale with a site area of 250,000 square metres. If you go through the main gate with an impressive octagonal blue tile roof, you will see a memorial hall based on blue and white. In the back is a bronze statue of Chiang Kai-shek, which is 6.3 metres high, and it is said that he is sitting in the direction of mainland China, where Chiang Kai-shek's hometown and could not return home until the end.
