Suzhou | Linwu Cave Plum Blossom Viewing Guide Attraction Details: 1. Xishan Linwu Plum Sea The plum garden is located on the west side of the Linwu Cave scenic spot in Suzhou's Xishan. Planting plums in Suzhou's Xishan started in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with a history of over 500 years. The plum forest area now covers more than 4,200 acres, and the Suzhou Xishan Plum Blossom Festival is held here. The scenic area mainly includes three major series of landscapes: 'Driving to View Plums,' 'Exploring Plums in the Forest,' and 'Water Plum Viewing.' In addition to a large number of fruit plums, there are also more than thirty varieties such as green calyx, jade butterfly, and cinnabar red, which are vast like the sea when blooming. The plum blossoms are about 35% open at the time of our arrival, but the cold weather and rain have wilted most of the plum blossoms today, yet the purples and reds are still beautiful! 2. Linwu Cave Linwu Cave is listed as one of the 'Thirty-Six Cavern Heavens' by Taoists, ranked as the 'Ninth Cavern Heaven in the World' (Taoist Scriptures). The cave entrance is low and narrow, but the cave is vast and unfathomable, with countless strange rocks and bizarre landscapes, winding and undulating. The matrix of Linwu Cave is limestone from the Jurassic period, formed about 300 million years ago. The age of Linwu Cave itself is at least 250 million years and is still developing. It is an important living material for studying the geological science of the Taihu Lake basin. From an on-site perspective, the commercialization of the cave's interior lighting is severe, and although the landscape is beautiful, it seems a bit contrived.
