#must-tryfood Paradise Hotpot VivoCity: Your Own Pot, Your Own Soup Base 🍲 When it comes to hotpot, choosing the soup base can sometimes be the hardest part. One person wants mala, another wants something milder, and suddenly you're negotiating before the food even arrives. Paradise Hotpot takes a different approach with individual pots, so everyone gets their own soup base and can cook at their own pace. Why We Went We visited the VivoCity outlet for dinner on a Friday night, and it was seriously busy. We ended up waiting more than an hour for a table, so this is definitely something to keep in mind if you're planning a dinner visit, especially towards the end of the week. The good thing is that reservations are available, so we'd recommend booking ahead if you already know when you want to go. Otherwise, going earlier may help you avoid the main dinner crowd. Our Soup Bases We chose tomato and mala for our individual pots. The tomato broth was tangy, savoury and slightly sweet, while the mala had the spicy and numbing kick you'd expect. Having separate pots worked really well for us because there was no need to compromise on flavours. This is especially handy when you're dining with someone who has completely different preferences from you. The soup selection goes beyond these two, with options including Sichuan spicy, pork bone, satay, Tom Yum and mushroom-based broths. The soup base is one of the first things we'd decide on before starting, since it sets the flavour for everything you cook. What You Get The main draw is the all-you-can-eat buffet, with a wide selection of hotpot ingredients to choose from. There are also cooked dishes, snacks, desserts, drinks and condiments, so you can keep going back for different things throughout the meal. Rather than loading your plate with everything at once, we'd suggest taking smaller portions and making a few rounds. It's easier to try more variety this way, and you'll still have room for the cooked food and desserts. A Few Tips The dining period is limited, so don't spend too much time deciding once you're seated. We found it better to get the first round cooking, then make trips to the buffet while waiting. Also keep the food-waste policy in mind. Since there is a charge for excessive leftovers, it's better to take a little first and return for more when you know what you like. If you're visiting on a Friday or during dinner peak hours, make a reservation if possible. Our more-than-one-hour wait showed just how busy it can get. For a more relaxed experience, we'd consider going earlier rather than arriving right in the middle of dinner time. Our Experience What stood out to us was the flexibility. Having our own tomato and mala pots meant we could enjoy completely different flavours at the same table, while the buffet gave us plenty of options to pick from throughout the meal. If you're someone who usually has to negotiate over the soup base whenever you go for hotpot, the individual-pot format is probably the biggest reason to add Paradise Hotpot to your food list. Just plan ahead if you're coming for dinner on a busy Friday night. 📍 Paradise Hotpot, VivoCity, 1 HarbourFront Walk, Singapore 098585 🚇 HarbourFront MRT #hotdiscussions #localfood #afternoonteatime #citydaytours #travel2026 #thingstodo #myitinerary #couplestrip #singapore #foodietravel

🌕✨ Lantern Magic at VivoCity Mid-Autumn Festival

If you’re craving vibrant festival vibes in Singapore, VivoCity lights up with dazzling lantern displays during the Mid-Autumn Festival! The epic centerpiece: rows of colorful lanterns festooned under a starry sky, creating a dreamy outdoor cultural landscape right beside iconic shopping and dining spots.

For the best experience, head over at night—the lanterns truly pop against the darkness. Start your visit from the HarbourFront entrance and make your way up to the rooftop Sky Park. Here’s where the most spectacular scenes unfold: glowing lantern installations, lotus-themed arrangements, and Insta-worthy corners with the city’s skyline as backdrop. Snap close-ups of lantern clusters or wide shots capturing the festive ambience. The outdoor vibe is extra lively during the weekends, with bonus performances or mini pop-up markets.

Practical tip: The entire mall is open from 10:00 AM–10:00 PM, but the lantern displays shine brightest after sunset (usually from 7:00 PM onwards). Pack light and wear comfy shoes—you’ll want to roam between levels and outdoor zones for maximum photo ops. Since it’s sunny by day, bring water if you arrive early and wait for dusk. For families or couples, the Sky Park’s lotus lantern area is quieter and perfect for a peaceful stroll.

Precaution: Crowds can swell closer to festival dates (especially weekends). For a quick day trip, visit midweek if possible or right after dinner for fewer people and gorgeous night-lit photos.
