Everyone says the indoor AC in Singapore freezes you to the bone. But when I arrived, I found it hot and humid outdoors all day—I felt sticky after just a few steps. The indoor AC wasn't so extreme that I needed thick clothes; a thin cardigan was perfectly fine. I didn't touch my thick clothes at all, and they took up half my suitcase for nothing 😭 🌤️ Recent weather Humidity is generally high! Average daily temperature is 27–32°C, and some days may exceed 35°C. It's hot and humid during the day 🌞. Occasional short afternoon showers happen; weather forecasts are just a reference, so carry a folding umbrella when you go out. There is occasional haze in September, and the 24-hour air pollution index may be in the moderate to low-unhealthy range. Sensitive individuals should check the air quality before heading out and avoid planning too many intense outdoor activities 👔 Packing guide ❌ Don't just bring short sleeves and camisoles; you won't be able to handle the AC when you enter cold conservatories and malls ✅ Layering formula: Cotton short-sleeve top + thin sun-protective cardigan Bottoms: Choose either a long skirt or thin casual pants; prioritize loose styles if you'll be walking a lot Shoes: You must wear soft-soled, breathable sneakers! You'll be walking constantly in Marina Bay and Chinatown, and stiff shoes will just give you blisters Accessories: Wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, folding umbrella ✅ Singapore attractions 🌟 Gardens by the Bay | The two conservatories have many plant species, so take your time exploring and remember to carry a thin jacket 🌟 Merlion Park | Go early to avoid crowds for clean shots of the Merlion and the Marina Bay Sands across the water; don't stand too close or you might get splashed by the water jet 🌟 Chinatown | Browse small shops for souvenirs, and you can also visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple—just make sure your attire isn't too revealing 🌟 Haji Lane | The colorful houses are beautiful, and there are many unique shops along the way to browse and shop at your leisure 🌟 Supertree Grove light show | Standing under the trees at night creates a great atmosphere; no need to crowd to the very front ⚠️ Quick tips for traveling in Singapore 🚫 Tip 1: Taking the MRT is convenient. Buy a transit card that can be used for transport and dining; try to avoid taking taxis as they are much more expensive 🚫 Tip 2: No need to tip at hawker centers. Many small shops only accept cash, so it's more convenient to exchange some SGD in advance 🚫 Tip 3: It's hot and humid outdoors all day, so short sleeves and shorts are comfortable. Just keep a thin cardigan handy for cold conservatories and malls 🚫 Tip 4: Carry a folding umbrella when you go out; showers here come and go quickly 🚫 Tip 5: There is occasional haze in September. Check the air quality index before going out, and spend less time outdoors if it's unhealthy 🚫 Tip 6: The conservatories at Gardens by the Bay and the malls have strong AC. Don't bury your jacket deep in your bag; keep it accessible so you can take it out anytime

🇲🇾 JB to 🇸🇬 Singapore for a Day Budget-Friendly Guide | 住🇲🇾新山玩🇸🇬新加坡一日游攻略省钱版

 Before you go
1️⃣ Book your return train tickets in advance. Ours cost around RM10 in total.
2️⃣ Submit the Malaysia and Singapore arrival cards the night before your trip.
3️⃣ Exchange just enough Singapore dollars for the bus fare. You can exchange more at the mall near Woodlands MRT.

✨ Estimated spend: around S$51 per person
About S$4 for buses, S$10 for a transit card (including S$5 in travel credit), S$30 for meals and coffee, and S$7 for the ride back. This is just a rough estimate based on what we spent.

✨ Our day trip
🚄 We took the 10am train from JB Sentral to Singapore. The ride takes about five minutes, but arrive early to clear immigration and wait for the train. Just scan your passport at the gate. After clearing immigration in Singapore, follow the crowd to the bus stop and take a bus to Woodlands MRT. The adult fare was about S$1.95.

🍴 We exchanged money and had lunch at the mall near Woodlands MRT, then took the train to CHIJMES. From there, we walked to the Old Hill Street Police Station, stopping for photos and a bite along the way. We skipped the popular photo spot at Fort Canning Park because the queue was over an hour.

🚶♀️ Next, we walked to Merlion Park, taking our time to explore, snap photos and rest along the way. In the evening, we headed to Gardens by the Bay for the light show. It was beautiful, with a lovely atmosphere—but very crowded!

🚕 After the show, we booked a Grab back to Woodlands MRT. There were nine of us, so we booked a 12-seater for S$60. The ride took around 40 minutes, with some traffic during rush hour. Then we caught the 10pm train back to Johor Bahru.

✨ We used the e-gate to re-enter Malaysia, and it was a smooth trip.

🏛️ WHERE HISTORY MEETS LUXURY: FULLERTON & RAFFLES CITY

Imagine waking up in a room overlooking the bay where Singapore's main post office once stood. Welcome to The Fullerton Hotel, a neoclassical masterpiece built in 1928 and designated a national monument. More than just a hotel, it's a portal to history: it once housed the Singapore Stock Exchange and the prestigious Singapore Club.

After breakfast, a 10-minute walk takes you to Raffles City: five floors, over 200 shops, from Omega to Marks & Spencer, and downstairs, the legendary Tiong Bahru Bakery and Din Tai Fung. But the most important thing is the location! From here, it's a stone's throw to Merlion Park (that famous postcard with the lion), Marina Bay with its 3.5-kilometer promenade, and Boat Quay, the oldest shopping district with restaurants right on the water.

💡 Tip: In the evening, head up to Lantern, the rooftop bar at the Fullerton Bay Hotel, with panoramic views of Marina Bay Sands. Sunsets here are an art form in themselves.
