Banteay Srei's "Queen's Palace" is also the meaning of "woman's castle". It is located in Siem Reap province of Cambodia, about 25 kilometers from Angkor Thom. It is one of the three great temples in Cambodia and is known as " The pearl in the Angkor monument." Shiva enshrined one of the three great gods of Brahmanism. It was built in 967 during the Rajendravarman period and was completed in the 1002 Jayavarman V period. The Queen Palace is famous for its bright colors and exquisite reliefs. It is one of the most unique and refined buildings in Angkor's monuments. Banteay Srei means "woman's castle", which is supposed to be constructed and carved by women. This may be because the carvings here are too beautiful, not like the male hand. There are also some doubts about the age of its construction, and some scholars believe that such superb craftsmanship far exceeds the level of other 10th century architecture, and more like the works of the 13th-14th century. But according to the inscriptions revealed, this was built by Yajnavaraha, the grandson of the former ruler, Julesham. # Photo#
