Is the Marriott's flagship store in Greater China really living up to its name?

Shenzhen Marriott Hotel Nanshan 📍Address: No. 88 Haide Yi Dao, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province I happened to catch the Nanshan consumption voucher promotion in February this year, and stayed at this hotel for half price. The hotel is very new and modern, and the overall feeling is quite good. The sky lobby might be the biggest highlight of the hotel, with the entire hotel incorporating a wooden style, from the artworks in the lobby to the room decor, there is a unified continuity. However, when considering all aspects, the title of flagship store in Greater China might be a bit of a stretch. ▪️Room Type: Executive Open Suite ▪️Layout: The 54 square meter room is actually just a larger corner room, with a spacious entrance. To the left after entering is the bedroom, and to the right is the walk-in closet and bathroom. ▪️Bedroom: The room is not of a regular shape, all floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a great view. The round writing desk and L-shaped sofa are both outside, not separated from the bed, hence it's called "open style". The king-size bed and pillows are very comfortable, and there's also an armchair beside the bed. ▪️Bathroom: Through the walk-in closet is the bathroom, consistent with the suite layout, with a double vanity design. To the left is the shower area, and to the right is the toilet, but it lacks a smart toilet, which is a bit of a letdown. I really like the design of the bathroom light strip, and the standalone bathtub by the floor-to-ceiling window is highly praised, overlooking the scenery of Shenzhen. ▪️Dining: The food at the executive lounge is a bit simple, it would be better if it could be improved. The overall space is also not large, and it can get very crowded when there are many people. Breakfast is on the same floor as the lobby, and you need to queue up to enter in the morning. The variety is rich and well-intentioned, but the replenishment of food is somewhat untimely. ▪️Swimming Pool & Gym: The gym and swimming pool on the top floor of the hotel are really nice, with plenty of fitness equipment and a spacious pool, plus a view of the sea. ▪️Service: Fairly average, when there are many hotel guests, there might not be enough staff, and service is definitely the weak point of this hotel, which should be improved. ▪️Transportation: The hotel is some distance from both the Nanshan Book City Station on Metro Line 9 and the Houhai Station on Lines 2/11🚇. It requires some walking, so taking a taxi is recommended. ▪️Surroundings: Opposite the hotel is the Coastal City Shopping Center, which is very convenient for dining and shopping.
