🪻 A couple of days ago, I visited the Shanghai Greenhouse Garden in the Expo Culture Park. It was actually transformed from an old steel mill, and now it has become a futuristic indoor ecological oasis. No need to fly to Singapore's Marina Bay; you can travel through tropical rainforests and exotic deserts right here in Pudong, Shanghai! After walking through it, I just want to say: it's so worth it! Absolutely amazing! 📍 Address: No. 199 Jiming Road, Pudong New Area, Shanghai (inside Shanghai Expo Culture Park) 🚇 Metro: Take Line 7 to Houtan Station, Exit 4, or Line 13 to Shibo Avenue Station 🎫 Admission ticket: Adult ticket is about 98/person (booking in advance is recommended; closed on Mondays) 🌿 3 themed pavilions Pavilion 1: Mirage oasis (desert exploration) The moment you step inside, you are transported from the modern city straight into the desert. Everywhere you look, there are giant cacti taller than a person, round baobab trees, stout bottle trees, and even an ancient olive tree! Sunlight streams through the uniquely shaped glass dome onto the desert plants, creating stunning light and shadow effects—every photo looks like a masterpiece. There are also interactive installations with holographic projections; just wave your hand to summon light-and-shadow butterflies. It's a wonderful blend of technology and nature! Pavilion 2: Forest in the clouds (rainforest adventure) As soon as you step in, you are gently enveloped by mist, with the sound of trickling water and simulated birdsong in your ears—it really feels like walking into a tropical forest! Huge buttress trees reach straight to the roof, with roots hanging down like waterfalls. What amazed me the most was the underwater forest corridor connecting the pavilions—various tropical fish swim in the huge transparent aquarium. Looking up, you see lush tree shadows; looking down, you see fish swimming by. The healing feeling of being surrounded by greenery and clear water is truly incredible! Pavilion 3: Misty canyon (aerial flower garden) This place is the absolute peak of romance, like Alice in Wonderland! The entire space consists of canyons, waterfalls, and suspended walkways. Layers of orchid pillars hang in the air, with winding palm flower streams beneath your feet, and spraying mist swirling around the walkways. Standing on the high-altitude suspension bridge overlooking the entire flower valley, with waterfalls cascading down from the cliffs, it feels ethereal, as if you are in a colorful fairy tale world! ⚠️ Tips: In the underwater glass corridor of Pavilion 2, try capturing the silhouettes of the fish swimming by. For the high-altitude walkway in Pavilion 3, a top-down view including the waterfall and the layered sea of flowers creates an incredible sense of depth! On weekends, try to arrive at 9:00 AM when it opens to avoid the peak crowds. Recommended visit duration is 2.5–4 hours (after visiting the greenhouse, you can also stop by to climb the nearby Twin Mountains or visit Shen Garden) It is truly beautiful!

Spago Bar & Lounge — City View from the 57th Floor 🍸🌇

On the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands, there's another perfect spot to relax and let time slow down: Spago Bar & Lounge, Chef Wolfgang Puck's bar and lounge, offering a luxurious yet not overly formal atmosphere.

The most striking feature is the high-altitude view, overlooking the Singapore skyline, along with the Marina Bay and Gardens by the Bay. Located in Hotel Tower 2, Level 57 of the Sands SkyPark, the restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating areas with stunning views.

This time, the atmosphere was particularly special. Afternoon sunlight streamed through the windows, creating a golden hue on the dining tables, while the outside view of the city was tinged with fog or haze, softening the skyline and adding a unique dimension.

🍔 Food and Drinks

Spago Bar & Lounge's menu focuses on casual dining and bar bites, offering easy-to-eat options from burgers, sandwiches, and rolls to sharing dishes, along with a wide selection of wines and cocktails.

From the photos, the burger and fries seem to perfectly complement the lounge's ambiance. It's a meal that's not overly formal, but still offers food, drinks, and a rooftop view all at once.

For those who want to enjoy the view more than a serious meal, the time before sunset until evening is probably the most beautiful, as the natural light gradually changes from warm tones to the city lights of the night.

✨ My feelings after visiting:

What I liked about Spago is that it doesn't feel like a flashy rooftop bar, but a place where you can comfortably enjoy a meal, a drink, and gaze at the city.

If you want to experience Marina Bay Sands from a different perspective without having to go into the hotel's infinity pool — Spago Bar & Lounge is a great option, as it's located on the 57th floor and offers direct rooftop views.

📍 Spago Bar & Lounge, Marina Bay Sands — Level 57
⏰ Open daily, currently starting at 8:30 AM, closing time varies depending on the day.
