A Truly Memorable Stay at Harris Waterfront Batam

Our stay at Harris Waterfront Batam was easily one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. While the facilities, food, and location were exceptional, it was the people who made it truly special. Indonesian hospitality is remarkable, and every staff member we encountered was kind, warm, accommodating, and genuinely happy to help. Even with requests that might have seemed bothersome, they assisted us with smiles and sincerity. Our experience started with ENGELIA at Reception, who greeted us warmly and offered a refreshing lemongrass drink upon arrival. After a boat ride from Singapore with a toddler, this simple gesture immediately made us feel welcome. Over our first night, we had an air-conditioning issue. Although it was already midnight, RIYAN promptly came to help, adding gas to the unit and explaining it would need cleaning the next morning. His willingness to assist, even at such a late hour, was impressive. Later that same night, RISKY cheerfully served us dinner at 1 AM; the 24/7 room service is a big advantage of Harris Waterfront Batam, making it unnecessary to order food from outside, especially late at night. The portions and taste were excellent too! The next morning, we changed rooms due to the air-conditioning issue, and HUMAM at reception assisted us in finding another room with a pool view. He even offered to move our belongings. The pool deserves a special mention—it’s warm, which was perfect for our toddler and a relaxing change for us. This detail makes us want to bring our senior parents here in the future, who would surely enjoy the comfort it provides. The foam pool party at the kiddie pool was another highlight, especially for our daughter who remembered it from a previous stay. We appreciated practical touches like sturdier room slippers, refilling water stations, and a breakfast buffet with plenty of choices and friendly servers like Arpitra/Apitra, whose warmth was heartwarming. At the Wellness Center, JIJA gave us an amazing massage, followed by delicious ginger tea—a thoughtful way to conclude the experience. Even small interactions stood out, such as PUTRA’s cheerful greetings while cleaning the corridors. Finally, at checkout, AMAR from reception went the extra mile by taking a family photo of us without being asked. His gesture was priceless, capturing a lovely memory to cherish. He also assisted with our luggage and ensured we got into our Grab comfortably. One thing we hope gets improved is the air-conditioning in the rooms, which didn’t get very cold even after adjustments. A cooler room would add to the comfort. However, this small issue did not overshadow the wonderful hospitality. Harris Waterfront feels more like a comforting home where people genuinely care, rather than just another hotel. Whenever we leave for Singapore, we feel a bit sad, as Harris Waterfront Batam has truly become our haven for relaxation, good food, a warm pool, relaxing massages, and cherished family memories. To every staff member who made us feel cared for, thank you. Even if we didn’t catch everyone’s names, your kindness did not go unnoticed. Without a doubt, we will be back.
