| Fo'er Temple • Visit the temple. 📍📍📍Fo'er Temple is located 4.5 km west of Nianzishan District, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, in the beautiful Shedong Mountain Nature Reserve, a national AA-level scenic area. The temple was built against the natural Buddha of Shedong Mountain, covering an area of 13,000 square meters. The construction of the east and west side halls has been completed, with a building area of 4,000 square meters. The temple houses one of the only two open-air bronze statues of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva in China, which is 8 meters high and weighs 5 tons. The temple covers an area of about 20,000 square meters. Under the leadership of Master Xuanqing, the disciples have built the temple from scratch. Now, the Mahavira Hall, Hell Hall, Medicine Buddha Hall, monk's quarters, and laymen's quarters have been completed. Several side halls and courtyard walls, the Great Dining Hall, and the Buddha Hall are under construction and being renovated. On the hillside next to the temple, 6,000 spruce trees have been planted to form a huge three-dimensional "Buddha" character, adding a solemn and mysterious color to the temple. The Shedong Mountain Scenic Area behind the temple is full of peaks and strange rocks, with various scenic spots scattered in an orderly manner, forming a harmonious whole. The strange stones and landscapes of turtles, cows, frogs, dragons, lions, tigers, apes, etc., are lifelike. The poetry steles, pavilions, and towers, together with the entire temple, form a picture scroll, showing the simple and elegant, rich, and long-standing traditional cultural heritage. Fo'er Temple is solemn and simple, with incense smoke curling up, bells and chimes ringing, and wishes coming true. It is not only a sacred place for monks and pilgrims to pray devoutly but also a good place for tourists to visit.
