The kapok flowers in Changjiang, Hainan are in full bloom!

Today, I set off from Wuzhishan at 7:00 am and took the newly opened Tropical Rainforest National Park Tourist Road (opened on December 29, 2022) to Changjiang to see the kapok flowers. The scenery along the way was stunning, with beautiful lakes, mountains, and endless pastoral views. 📍Baoshan Terraced Fields Viewing Platform After getting off the Rainforest Road, don't rush to drive. Pay attention to the roadsides, as there are many great photo spots. When you are not far from the viewing platform, there is a rice field on the roadside, which is a great spot to take photos of the kapok flowers. There is a large kapok tree on a slope of the road, and you can take long-focus photos of people walking by (be careful). Although the Baoshan Viewing Platform looks like it requires a climb, it is actually not far. It takes about 20 minutes to walk slowly to the top of the mountain (there are a few stalls selling bananas along the way, which are quite cheap at 4-5 yuan per jin, and they are fully ripe and ready to eat). 📍Wangxia Village, Hongshui Village The round-trip mountain road is over 60 km, with many sharp turns, and there are currently very few kapok flowers. Due to safety concerns, you cannot drive directly into the Emperor Cave and Shili Gallery. There is a free parking lot in front of the roadblock. You need to walk in or take their electric car, which costs 30 yuan per person. If you are not determined to see the Emperor Cave, I do not recommend going! If you do go, be careful when driving. It is best to honk at many turns to alert others, as the locals drive fast! 📍Changhua River Kapok Flower Viewing Pier You can visit this place along the way, as the scenery is nice. If you go early in the morning, you can take a boat ride for 50 yuan per person for 20 minutes. There are villagers with yachts, so you can negotiate the price with them. There are not many flower trees in the nearby Nixia Village, so you can skip it.
