Shimoda Park - Bathed in a Sea of Hydrangeas!

Located in Shizuoka Prefecture, Shimoda Park boasts 150,000 plants with over 100 varieties of colorful hydrangeas! Every year during the rainy season, more than 3 million flowers bloom simultaneously, creating a breathtaking sea of hydrangeas! The park is strategically situated on the hillside, offering an excellent view of Shimoda Port and the Shimoda cityscape. Surrounded by the vast clusters of hydrangeas, the beauty is unparalleled! Each year, the 'Hydrangea Festival' is also held here. During the event, visitors can not only enjoy the hydrangeas covering the hills but also witness traditional Japanese dances known as 'Shimoda Geisha Dance' and performances of 'Ota Taiko' drums.
