🇲🇦 MOROCCO IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK…

I thought Morocco would be all souks, spices and desert. Then I discovered camels, churches, blue cities, tree-climbing goats and “liquid gold”… 👀 Here are some of the things that genuinely surprised me about Morocco: 🐪 YOU CAN SLEEP IN THE SAHARA Forget just taking a camel ride and leaving. You can spend the night in a luxury desert camp, watch the sunset over the dunes, eat traditional Moroccan food and wake up surrounded by nothing but sand. ⛪ YES, MOROCCO HAS CHURCHES Morocco is predominantly Muslim, but you’ll find historic Christian churches too. Casablanca’s Church of the Sacred Heart is one of the country’s most recognisable examples, while St Andrew’s Church in Tangier is another fascinating piece of Morocco’s history. 🌰 ARGAN OIL IS ‘LIQUID GOLD’ Argan trees are native to Morocco and their oil has become famous worldwide for skincare, haircare and cooking. Visit a women’s argan cooperative and you can see how the kernels are traditionally processed — and pick up some genuine Moroccan argan oil while you’re there. 🐐 THE GOATS REALLY DO CLIMB TREES Yes. Goats. In trees. 😂 They climb argan trees to eat the fruit and leaves — and seeing a group casually balancing several metres above the ground is one of those Morocco moments you won’t forget. 💙 THERE’S A BLUE CITY Chefchaouen is famous for its blue-painted streets, buildings and stairways. It genuinely feels like you’ve walked into another world — and every corner looks like a photo opportunity. 🕌 THE ARCHITECTURE IS INSANE From elaborate riads hidden behind unassuming doors to huge mosques, colourful zellige tiles and ancient medinas… Morocco is basically an architectural dream. 🏜️ THE LANDSCAPE CHANGES COMPLETELY In one trip you can experience bustling cities, Atlantic beaches, Atlas Mountain villages, palm-filled oases and enormous Sahara dunes. ✨ AND THEN THERE’S THE LUXURY Morocco does luxury VERY well. Think rooftop riads, private pools, hammams, five-star resorts, desert glamping and candlelit dinners beneath the stars. It’s one of those destinations where you can have an adventure AND a ridiculously beautiful holiday at the same time.
