Amazing Lijiang - Baoshan Stone City

Getting There - Catching a local bus from Lijiang to Baoshan County is easy but further down there is currently no public transport going from there to the Stone City of Baoshan. Hence, hitchhiking is probably the easiest way for backpackers hoping to reach there from Baoshan County. I tried hitchhiking from Baoshan County to the Stone City the first time visiting there and it didn’t take long before someone pulled over and picked me up. Highlight - The entire village is surrounded by cliffs on four sides with the Jinsha River flowing below - the scenery is absolutely picturesque. Bonfire dancing event is held every other night at the local square in front of the village and every one from the village participates in it. You’d be so lucky to join them for a dance!
