“Sri Maha Mariamman Temple KL: A Majestic Jewel of Hindu Heritage!”

#favouriteitinerary The Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, situated on Jalan Tun H.S. Lee in Kuala Lumpur, is the city’s oldest Hindu temple, established in 1873. Originally it was built to serve as a private shrine for the Pillai family, it was opened to the public in the 1920s.  The temple is renowned for its impressive 22.9-meter (75-foot) tall gopuram, a five-tiered tower adorned with 228 intricately carved Hindu deities, constructed in the South Indian architectural style. This striking feature was added during renovations in 1968. Truly a marvel Indian temple worth photo-taking. Do take off shoes and pay RM0.20 to enter.
