'Jianchuan', between Dali and Lijiang, is the last living ancient city in Yunnan

'Jianchuan' is the white moonlight in my heart of Yunnan ancient town. In March this year, it became the 142nd Chinese historical and cultural city. This title came too late for Jianchuan. The small town on the ancient tea-horse road, the Ming and Qing residences that are still in use, the shops do not serve the nightlife of tourists, they rise at sunrise and rest at sunset, the prices are the lowest in the whole Dali state, and the two stone carvings are small but very informative. The scenic area is very large but you can still have a relaxed one-day grotto hike: enter through the main entrance, buy a one-way ticket for the scenic area, first reach Baoxiang Temple, visit and then take a bus to Shizhong Temple parking lot, walk to visit Lion Pass 9-11 caves, then Shizhong Temple 1-8 caves, finally go to Shadengqing 16-12 caves, there are very clear signs in the scenic area, after the visit, you can walk back to Shaxi ancient town❽The important relics of Shaxi are Xingjiao Temple and the stage, there are several relics of the ancient tea-horse road bridges outside the ancient town, it is best to ride an electric bike or bicycle to go❾Shaxi Pioneer Bookstore is more than just taking pictures and checking in, the book selection is top-notch, if you want to understand Dali in depth, you can find many books about the ancient tea-horse road, Dali intangible cultural heritage and folk customs❿I don't like Dali ancient city, I have always been puzzled why Jianchuan, Weishan these two ancient cities, are not on your travel list?
