Tunnel of Nine Turns

The Tunnel of Nine Turns is considered one of the most scenic sections of Taroko Gorge. There are no parking facilities, so you had to arrange with the driver or take the bus number 310 from Hualien train station. The walk through the Tunnel of Nine Turns is 700 meters, taking less than 30 minutes to walk the entire trail and back. The Tunnel trails snuggle against the tall mountain and deep gorge. If you look down, you will see the liwu river gushing swiftly past the mountain walls facing each other so closely. You will have nice views of the river and the gorge. A new section "Ming Tunnel" was added during reconstruction so now people don't need to wear a helmet, because the chances of falling rocks are very slim. The best part of the Tunnel was the end spot, where the wind comes whipping through the canyon.
