I've lived in Fuzhou for so many years, and it's only now that I've discovered there's a Chinese garden in the Gulou District! It's the 'Furong Garden,' the foremost of the four major gardens in Fuzhou. Located around the Sanfang Qixiang area, it's hidden within the Zhuzi Fang! - The garden is deeply hidden. When you enter the 'Shen Shao'an Lacquer Art Museum,' don't doubt it at first! Keep walking inside, pass through several courtyards, until the very last door opens up a different world. A landscape, a spring pond, an ancient tree... This place really has the ancient charm of Suzhou-style gardens. Meandering streams, tea tasting and painting discussions, flower viewing and rock admiring, I must say the Chinese aesthetic is really impressive! —— This niche garden is really super photogenic!
