Guilin - Chuanshan Rock Scenic Area

Gaze upon Chuanshan Rock and Pagoda Mountain! Chuanshan is one of the main famous mountains in Guilin and has been renowned since ancient times as a splendid site for visitors. Pagoda Mountain and Chuanshan were part of the same mountain over a million years ago. Subsequent crustal uplift and the decline of the water level caused the mountain to be cut and separated into independent peaks. There is an ancient pagoda built during the Ming Dynasty on the mountain; it has 8 sides, 7 floors, is solid, made of brick structure, and is 13.3 meters tall. A Buddha statue is embedded on the north side, known as the Longevity Buddha Pagoda. From a distance, it looks like a screen or a ship sailing on the river, also known as 'Warship Mountain'; up close, a stone is split, as if by divine workmanship, cleaving straight from the peak to the ground. Xu Xiake in 'Travel Notes of Western Guangdong' said, 'It seems to diverge and converge, standing tall and slender, revealing its uniqueness with its delicate and thin soaring appearance.' There are many maple trees at the foot of the mountain, and in autumn, the 'Pagoda Mountain Red Leaves' present a breathtaking view.
