If it weren't for the joint ticket discount, I might not have noticed this small royal garden where the charm of mountains and rivers blends with Lingnan architecture. - 🔸Nanyue Garden is very close to Baomo Garden, just about a 2-3 minute walk away. I originally thought it was just an annex of Baomo Garden, but upon entering, I was still attracted by the Lingnan architectural style and the royal garden's dignified and luxurious features of Nanyue Garden. - 🔸Vermilion lacquered columns, gold-gilded Chaozhou wood carvings, triple eaves brackets, quintuple ceramic layers, decorations that combine stone carving, ceramic molding, wood carving, ash sculpture, and brick carving. It's splendid and magnificent, exuding royal elegance, and is a rare example of the combination of Lingnan and royal architecture in Guangdong. - 🔸For example, the five double-sided ceramic sculptures on the ridge of the archway at the entrance of Nanyue Garden, such as "Shouxing Chasing Deer", and the eighteen colored ceramic murals on the four walls of the Shuxin Pavilion, themed around the story of "Journey to the West". - 🔸For instance, more than 2000 pieces of Chaozhou wood carvings are all plated with pure gold, and more than 10 kilograms of 9999 pure gold were used for 20 buildings. - 🔸For example, the eight large flower beds at the "Guiyuan Fragrance" attraction, each with ash relief sculptures of flowers, birds, insects, fish, and human stories. However, due to the fewer tourists and lack of daily feeding, the staff have to feed them personally every day, and it seems that dozens of pounds of fish food are distributed each time.
