Sydney's Northern Suburb Hidden Gem Day Trip|The Closest 'World Park' to the City

This is a green sanctuary filled with global charm—Fagan Park. Here, you'll find North American log cabins, Mediterranean lavender gardens, a Chinese lotus pond, exotic South American flora, and ducks, geese, and fish frolicking in the lake. 🐥🐟 Escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney's city center; this is a favorite weekend retreat for locals. Whether you're walking your dog, spending time with your kids, or just enjoying some alone time, this place has it all. Bask in the sun, listen to birdsong, admire the flowers, picnic, or simply daydream—spend the whole day surrounded by nature's gentle embrace. ☀️💚 🌳 Fagan Park 📍38–48 Arcadia Rd, Galston NSW 2159 🕖 Open year-round: 07:00–18:30 With vast lawns perfect for picnics and kite flying, the park also features a children's playground, walking trails, and scenic lakes. It's ideal for family outings, romantic picnics, or letting your pets roam free. 🐶 Fagan Park Off-Leash Dog Park An open off-leash dog park where your furry friends can run freely. Equipped with washing stations, seating, and trash bins. Remember to bring water and food for your pets. The park is most pleasant in the evening. 🌺 Mediterranean Garden A hidden gem within the park, the Mediterranean Garden features white walls, flowers, and ponds. It's especially enchanting during spring when the flowers are in full bloom. 🚗 Tips There are no restaurants in the park, so it's recommended to bring your own picnic food. Nearby Galston Village has cafes and convenience stores. Ample parking is available ($6/day), but it's best to arrive early on weekends. Keep the environment clean and avoid feeding the wild ducks. The park is family and pet-friendly, offering a relaxed and pleasant holiday atmosphere. 🚙 How to Get to Fagan Park 🚗 By Car: Approximately a 20-minute drive from Hornsby. Follow Galston Rd through Galston Gorge, then turn left onto Arcadia Rd to reach the park. (⚠️ The mountain road has many curves, so drive carefully.) The park has a paid parking lot (around $6/day). Arrive early on weekends. 🚌 By Public Transport: Take bus 637 or 638 from Hornsby Station (towards Dural) and get off at Galston Village. From there, it's about a 20-minute walk to the park. 🚕 By Ride-Share: An Uber ride from Hornsby takes about 20 minutes. Spend an afternoon by the lake, watching ducks swim in pairs and feeling the breeze rustle through the grass. In that moment, the world seems to pause. Fagan Park—a green paradise for Sydneysiders.

Sydney, a city where you don't have to deliberately seek relaxation

W Sydney

Sydney has always been one of my favorite cities and no matter how many times I’ve visited, Darling Harbor is a must-see landmark that can’t be missed. This time I stayed at the W Hotel Sydney, the biggest selling point is definitely the beautiful view and location — the hotel is right next to Darling Harbor, whether at lunch or night, the sea view right outside the door, and one foot walk to the city center and major popular attractions, really save travel time. Landing at the W Hotel is convenient for the whole holiday. The hotel is located at 31 Wheat Rd, quiet and busy, with a host of restaurants and shops downstairs. Want to buy something or find a place for dinner, no hassle at all, two minutes walk away. For The Rocks, the Opera House or even the Aquarium, walk all the way along Darling Harbor and take pictures while walking. The harbor lights up at night. The room design is chic enough and modern enough, the bedding is comfortable, super suitable for adequate rest. With Darling Harbor and Sydney skyline right outside the window, the night view is excellent, perfect for couples or those who want to enjoy a romantic holiday. In terms of facilities, W has always been stylish enough, 24 hours open attic pool even at night swimming overlooking the sea and port lights, want to exercise with a gym, in fact, do not have to leave the hotel can be very chill. I like that the service is considerate enough, the staff is friendly, the front desk is basically efficient, check-in check-out is fast and convenient, if you are in a hurry to rest assured. However, some friends who have tried to encounter a bad smell in the room or not very clean, suggest that you can immediately propose when checking in, the hotel is willing to assist with room changes or enhanced cleaning. If you have already played all over the city center, it is recommended to drive to Grosties Beach Cave and be sure to check the high and low tide times, so you don’t have to worry about not being able to see the sea erosion cave. Overall, staying at W Hotel really saves a lot of transportation time, want to have more time left for leisure travel, and not lose stylish taste, perfect for travel or business trip. Booking tip: W Hotel has many room types, you can book your favorite sea view room or high floor earlier, extremely popular during the peak season (especially during the New Year fireworks). Requesting view rooms and bed types from the hotel in advance can also avoid temporary adjustments when entering the accommodation. If driving by yourself, remember to ask about parking arrangements and charges. City travel reminder: Sydney summer, although the weather is clear, but the weather near the port changes fast, remember to bring a jacket; For a night trip around The Rocks or Darling Harbor, be sure to grab the last traffic. If you don’t want to go too far, Uber and taxis are very convenient. #Sydney W Hotel #Darling Harbor Night View #Sydney Attractions #Harbor Photo #Hotel Booking Tips
