It's a place you absolutely must not miss. - 🚗About Transportation Eryuan is a two-hour drive from Dali Ancient Town. Navigate to '📍Datang Wind Power' and continue driving up until you reach a white house marked as a bird-watching station. Start your mountain hike from here. - 🚶‍♂️Hiking Route The entire route is 12 kilometers long, with an estimated hiking time of about 6-7 hours. The difficulty is not too high, and the whole way is filled with stunning scenery. - 1️⃣Highland Meadows Lift your head to see the comic-like clouds, seemingly within reach. Walking through the mountains, you'll see cows and horses grazing everywhere, which is incredibly healing. This section is about 6 kilometers long, leading to a 'heart-shaped lake' where you can sit on the grass and have lunch while looking at the distant lake view. - 2️⃣Shrubbery After crossing the mountains, there's a 3-kilometer stretch of shrubbery, filled with various ferns, irises, and little yellow rice flowers. The terrain here is relatively flat and also passes by a stream, making it very cool. There are recognizable footpaths along the way. - 3️⃣Pine Forest After passing through the shrubbery, you'll enter a large pine forest with pine needles carpeting the ground, making for a comfortable walk. The forest trail is very quiet, and you might even see grey rabbits. After completing this final 3-kilometer stretch, you'll see the homes of herders, with the end point not far away. - 🌟Hiking tips 1️⃣Hiking attire: The wind is strong on the mountain, so it's recommended to wear a windbreaker + outdoor boots + sun hat. Especially the shoes, make sure to wear comfortable outdoor shoes, otherwise your feet will hurt. 2️⃣Essentials: Be sure to bring food and water, bread or self-heating pots are fine. Others: trekking poles, power bank, sunglasses, tissues. 3️⃣Precautions: There's no signal on the mountain, so prepare an offline map in advance.
