Weekend fun | Ke Garden in Dongguan, one of the four famous Lingnan gardens.

Dongguan Ke Garden was first built in the 30th year of Qing Dynasty's Daoguang reign (1850), covering an area of 2200 square meters, and is one of the four famous gardens in Lingnan. The layout of the garden is scattered and winding, with scenery in empty spaces and no emptiness in sparse places, making it a treasure of Lingnan gardens. Zhang Jingxiu, the owner of Dongguan Ke Garden, was a military general who was proficient in qin, chess, calligraphy, and painting. He originally wanted to name the garden "Yiyuan" (meaning "satisfaction"), but found it too straightforward. He then named it "Keyuan" (meaning "can garden") after a guest's casual response of "okay", which implies "can", "pleasant", and "nothing can be without it". 🎫: Admission fee for the ancient architecture area is 8 yuan; the rest is free. 🅿️: There are parking lots at the southwest gate and the north gate, but they are limited in number. You can park directly on the roadside of the north gate on weekends, and it's free for a limited time. 🕑: The garden is not big, reserve 1.5-2 hours for taking photos and resting. The park is divided into three zones: Southeast area is the main entrance area of the courtyard, mainly for receiving guests and personnel distribution. West Zone buildings are where the host entertains guests and enjoys the view from afar. North District Architecture is built along the Ke Lake, with unique functions for lake viewing. The owner's bedroom and study are also located in this group of buildings. Pavilions and towers are arranged in a scattered and orderly manner, and the gardens are exquisite and beautiful, elegant and quiet. It's very comfortable to come here for a leisurely stroll occasionally.
