Waldorf Astoria Chicago: understated luxury

1. Waldorf Astoria Chicago is located in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago. It has been awarded the AAA Five Diamond Award for many years and was ranked the best Waldorf Astoria hotel in the US by U.S. News. It is definitely one of the top five luxury hotels in Chicago. 2. The hotel is easy to find with a map and navigation, but compared to the Peninsula, Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, and Sofitel nearby, it has a more understated and reserved vibe, making it grand but not ostentatious. It has the same character as the Waldorf Astoria hotels in Shanghai, Orlando, and New Orleans, which fits its brand positioning. The building looks very modern and does not have the unique American vintage feel that other hotels have. Of course, there are historic hotels nearby, such as The Palmer House or The Drake, which have their own unique charm. The bathroom is all white marble, luxurious and grand. It has a double sink design, separate wet and dry areas, and a very deep and wide bathtub, perfect for one person to soak in. The shower is quite large and can fit two or three people. The toiletries are Ferragamo as always, and the set is very complete. To sum up the whole suite: exquisite, compact, luxurious, and interesting, with no empty or blank areas, but with enough space for activities and storage. Service: All the staff we met were very enthusiastic and professional, and always ready to help. Several managers often appeared in the lobby to chat with guests and help out with other staff's work, with a very good attitude. The house car is a Mercedes-Benz S550, and the hotel only offers drop-off service within a two-mile radius. I knew before that Waldorf Astoria Chicago does not accept tips, but I still tried to tip the driver, who politely refused, saying that all services were included in the room rate. Some of the benefits of the Diamond Card include a bar voucher, two bottles of VOSS water in the mini bar, room upgrades if available, in-room movie orders, etc.
