#getgoing2025 Visiting the Chiang Kong border was an unexpected highlight of my trip. Located in the far north of Thailand, this border town felt far removed from the busy tourist hubs. The border itself, which separates Thailand from Laos, offers stunning views of the Mekong River. I spent some time at the riverbank, watching the boats drift by and chatting with the locals.
