A visit to Wat Pha Lat (Skithakami) in Chiang Mai

This spot is so breathtaking that I had to take a deep breath before sharing my experience. Nowadays, if you visit Chiang Mai and miss out on Wat Pha Lat, you’re truly missing out on a hidden gem. This place offers not only tranquility but also a blend of natural beauty and spiritual serenity that makes you feel as if a weight has been lifted off your chest. As I walked down to the temple grounds, I felt like I had stepped into a peaceful, otherworldly realm. The temple is perched on a high cliff with a stream flowing through it. The gentle sound of water hitting the rocks, the abundance of trees, and the cool shade made me feel as though I was resting my soul in a vast forest. The surrounding nature recharged my energy in an incredible way. I must say, the Lanna-style simplicity of this temple doesn’t need much decoration—it’s utterly enchanting as it is. I strolled around the chapel and the stupa, which were covered in green moss, giving them a unique and beautiful appearance. The old monk’s quarters, stone walls, and various statues exude a mystical charm. If you’re looking for a simple, peaceful temple to visit, I highly recommend this place. Wat Pha Lat is not just a temple; it’s a sanctuary where you can pause, take a deep breath, and remind yourself, "I can still keep going." Just a short visit here feels like recharging your life’s battery to full capacity.
