The Great Barrier Reef was formed in the Miocene epoch, with a history of 25 million years, and its area is still expanding. It was formed 10,000 years after the last ice age when the sea level rose to a certain height. The Great Barrier Reef is known as the most beautiful "decoration" on Earth, like a pearl shining with sky blue, indigo, azure, and pure white light. Even from the moon, it is clearly visible and is one of the few living structures on Earth that can be seen from space.
